Hello Baggy, and long may your non-yukky sicky status continue! My DD is usually very kind and gives me all her bugs, so fingers crossed you'll be safe!0
-
1 displeasure first. Had 2 polite phone calls from the school involved in the "managed move". I had told smaller son about it, started to work out the travel arrangements, thought about the uniform. Anyway, new school phoned, said they knew nothing of any managed move, don't have a nurture unit for anyone over 7 AND their year 5 is completely full!
Phoned smaller son's school to mention this to them and (of course) no one has phoned me back...
5 pleasures!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got smaller son to do some school work! Did 20 minutes of reading this morning and a powerpoint about his trip to the cathedral this afternoon.
3) Also spent time with him doing Wii fit and had a bike ride in the drizzle (that'll be the PE he's missing).
4) Wii fit told me I have lost 4lbs. Shall probably lose more now I am no longer comfort eating.
5) Bigger son came home from school and we had a quick bike ride in the forest.
6) Just popped into the nearest town for a minute. Didn't really want to get a parking ticket for 5 mins stay but did in the end and Reverbe'd over £2.50 that was in the coin return bit of the ticket machine!
7) Going to make a lasagne for tea any second now. Did the meat and tomato part the other day in a batch cooking extravaganza so just pulled that from the freezer last night. Just got to make the top bit now.
Thanks, Tealady for the London info. Paddington to N Gallery by tube, a look at Trafalgar Square then a bus trip. Am I right in thinking a day's travel card will cover me for all bus and tube journeys and sons will be free?0 -
hi all, hope all poorlies are feeling better x
Frith sorry to hear more incompetence within education system  hope they sort something out
5 for today
1. walked into town, lovely and warm even though very grey day, so making the most of it as its meant to be cold this weekend
2. picked up DS new contact lenses that were supposed to arrive before he went away, but due to mess up of order by SSavers did not arrive on time for him to take on holiday. Managed to convince them to straight swap for 2 boxes of old lenses he had not opened as they wanted to charge me again !
3. got new towels in Debnhams 70% off.... bargain !! I would never pay £34 for a bath sheet but cannot grumble at £10.60 each
4. washed load of new towels and put out on line as still warm this afternoon and breeze picked up, then the sun came out !
5. phone call from mum and dad, they got home safely despite M1 being closed. Have had a lovely week and am sad to see them leaveDS away till monday, so am going to get on with the decorating, and have arranged a night out over the weekend

Evening all.
TILAMS - glad you had a good day back at work, but sorry to hear about the poor, ill-fated pancake.
Skint - thanks for the tip about the D'hams sale - I put a finger straight through one of my towels while taking it out of the washing machine the other day, so I think it's about time I got some new ones, too!
Baggy - I hope you stay bug-free - I've been off work for the past couple of days with what sounds like the same sort of thing, so I'm glad such things can't be transmitted by computer!
Frith - :wall: I really hope something gets sorted out NOW.
Tealady - thanks for the info about the W'rose card. :T I don't have a cafe in my local store, but I could definitely use a free magazine and associated almond milk - I'll grab a copy when I go shopping on Friday now I know I'm entitled to one. :money:
VJsmum - I gather there's some brighter but colder weather coming soon, which I hope will be better for you than the grey gloominess we've had recently.
1) Feeling better so back at work today. Is that a pleasure?
2) LO jambalaya for lunch.
3) Went to buy catfood at lunchtime and got chatting to the cashier about rescue cats, as her two are rescues as well. Eventually we both realised the people behind me in the queue might be grateful if we stopped nattering about puddy tats and got on with the transaction!
4) Got some of my favourite winter drink on SO from the milkman - cheaper than the supermarket and delivered to my door as well. :money:
5) Received a free sample of coffee which I'd forgotten I'd applied for. It's the brand I usually drink so getting a sample was a bit cheeky, but free's free!
Have a good evening, all - I might not be back on the forum this evening as my anti-virus software is annoying me: it's taken a dislike to my toolbar and keeps blocking it as malicious software, no matter how often I tell it not to. :mad:Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all !
Tilams - I will never forget x OH found a tunic button off of a WW1 hospital ship that the Germans sunk . The button says "Belfast" on it but the ship was full of German POW's and our wounded soldiers.:( That teeny tiny Smarty sized button found at the bottom of the Channel was picked up off of the wreck on Monday symbolises so much .Humbling stuff x
PK -Re your tattoo - I am sure you can save it for your OH's eyes only.
CCP , VJsmum and Baggy- get well now !
