    Evening all.

Tealady - that's an impressive haul! :money: I have a W loyalty card, too, but never seem to get anything from it except 1p off my shopping so I'm not sure if it's worth the effort. :(

    Skint
    - you weren't far from me yesterday - let me give you a retrospective wave across the county border! I'm glad you had a nice day.

VJsmum - sorry to hear you're still unwell. :( Do you have a SAD lamp, or can you get one? I know they don't work for everyone but I love mine and couldn't cope without it.

ampersand - no apologies necessary! That's part of the joy of this thread, imo. :)

DD - congrats on your new tat! :D I'd love to have one but the problem (except for cowardice ;)) is that I know exactly what I want, but have the sort of artistic skills that struggle to draw a convincing stick person, so I have no hope of producing the design I want. :o

    1) I felt better last night so had a normal dinner, which turned out to be a mistake - I woke up early this morning feeling very unwell again. :( So my first pleasure today is the same as yesterday's - phoned in sick and went back to bed!

    2) Did some surveys this afternoon - I only need a couple more now to earn my next voucher. :j

    3) Turned the heating off this morning as I really didn't need it, but am now wondering whether to turn it back on as I'm chilly again. :undecided The pleasure is knowing I can afford to switch it on if I want to, particularly now I've moved to a cheaper tariff. :money:

    4) Jambalaya tonight, using various bits and pieces from the fridge and freezer. I must remember not to make it too spicy, though - I'm feeling better again this evening and would like to stay that way this time! :o

I can't think of a number 5 - hopefully I'll be back to full pleasure productivity tomorrow! ;) Have a good evening, all.

ETA - having said that, I've just thought of another one, although I'm still not sure if it's a pleasure or not: I posted a comment on a website about a product I'd tried and not particularly liked (nothing wrong with it, just not to my taste), and the maker responded to me directly. My comment was honest, but I still feel slightly embarrassed about not being more positive - I never thought the maker would read or respond to comments posted online! :o
Back after a very long break!
  • Five four free to one.

5 Good to be back. And company has bin good as well. Lappie Took till nearly an hour before home to get of sorted. 181 emails deleted, plus 40 days that were auto deleted. So back in chair.

4 Had dog burger as well. Canteen at work is very good value and well worth the wait. Nomnomnom.

We are free because of the few. Their last died today. Flt Lt. William Walker aged 99.

2 Be an inspiration to some. Remember the words of the last serving from their time during the early years of my service. Their words about their service came true within months of joining. Skid marks!

    1 Few.

Glad your first day back was good as well TLAMS x

Chickenopolis, I still feel 17 just look about 97, lol. Ok, my true age.....41, and now I CBA to keep dying my hair, I probably look it!

    1. Fab day at DD's school helping Reception classes :)

    2. Fab meeting with DD's deputy head teacher who has kindly agreed to be my other referee for my application form, woohoo!!! :)

    3. Mummykins phoned to say that a teaching agency she used to do the odd bit of supply work for called and she told them she wasn't interested but her daughter in another part of the country might be, if being unqualified but quite experienced with primary age children, lots of CRB certificates etc etc, and they got v. excited and so I need to call my local office. Yay! I could get paid for doing what I'm really loving :)

    4. DD and I are going to a party on Sunday afternoon :)

    5. Had a good chat with a friend at the school gate and told her my updates, I hadn't seen her in a while so she didn't know about the redundancy, or the exOH situation.....

    6. Fun time at Rainbows, party time :)

    7. Good natter with my chums at DD's dance class, whilst the girls twirled, swirled and tapped their way through :)

    Evening all.

I am a little lost soul - nowt on't telly (don't really watch it much anyway), DD and OH gone away for the evening, tea eaten and cleared, DS homework done and he doesn't want to watch / do anything with me :( (I guess that could be pleasures 1 - 5!)
Glad you had a good day, TILAMS
CCP - hope you are better. I don't have a SAD lamp, I do wonder if I should. I know it sounds strange but I think I go through a kind of "mourning" period for summer. You know the thing "shock, denial, anger, acceptance". I just need to get to acceptance and I'll be ok. i know it's mental (literally :p), and I should really "pull myself together" - and I will. Just not yet - it seems.

    For today

    1. DD and OH gone to Cardiff - I am sure they will have a lovely time. It's nice for OH to spend time with kids (he's taking DS to Germany next week) as he missed the holiday with them in the summer
    2. Still nothing to do at work - literally nothing today. I have a little bit tomorrow and a bit more on Thursday. The pleasure is that I have started to plan my Korean teaching materials in their time, guilt free.
    3. Coffee with colleagues.
    4. Had defrosted some left over roast meat for DS and me to have but it had been too long so i binned it. THe pleasure is that we had bacon and eggs!
    5. Doing 15 mins of ironing listening to the Archers. Surely they aren't going to make both Roy and Hayley redundant? And I wish Rees and Fallon would just get on with it.

Am going to make the most of this lull to continue my writing course. I aim to get this assignment in by the weekend.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Used to catch the number 11 sometimes when i worked in westminster a long long long time ago :D
    1) very good meeting on my day off. Fear not, shall go in late tomoz to make up for it
    2) lunch with friend. He paid for the sarnies, i paid for the coffee after
    3) then bus ride down to sinderins (an area of dundee) for a cuppa with my mama - she paid
    4) then hair dye and cut. Still cant get over it only being £20. Tis now back to vibrant red yay
    5) then home and phoned my dear papa (parents are separated, he's in essex and been right poorly so goes to bed early) had a good old chin wag while i finished off the rest of the red opened on saturday - have switched to old size wine glass and makes the plonk go much further!
So all in all a v. good day. Even remembered to book dental appointment. Both DM and OH have broken a tooth in the last week. DM's cost £60  but OH's was a bargain £13.04 though is only a patch. Tattoo feeling a bit not surprisingly

  • Aw Ampersand, I am a little worried about the timing of the job, but I am going to give it my best shot. Loving your posts.
Kittikins: You sound very brave, Big Hugs.
Chickenopolis: ahh see there’s the problem, I would like a tattoo to be able to show it sometimes and for it to be somewhere that’s not going to age badly.
    TeaLady: Great posts.
    1. We picked up a few goodies from Mr A RTC, filled up the freezer with a weeks worth of sandwiches for next weeks work week.
    2. Today the garden looks like a crime scene, bricks were laid, about 100 bricks broken up and used to fill out base my arms and hands ache ache ache, then popped out and bought 30 bags of sand, on offer of course, but that meant loading onto the trolley, paying, loading to car and trailer, unloading to other end of the garden. Did I mention aching. Tomorrow the cement goes in.:)
    3. Picked up a big rotisserie roast chicken reduced to £2.20 enough food there to feed us very well for a couple of days, and since when did these go up to a “normal” price of £5.50, yikes.
    4. This is a tenuous pleasure, dad has moved to a hospital where his room looks out onto a beautiful garden, he should be able to bird watch which is what he loves, I’m hoping he will enjoy it. :)
    5. Paid a very needed cheque in.
    6. Popped over the bridge to Costco this evening, veered slightly off the list and had what felt like a well earned tea and slice of their pizza.:p
    7. Enjoyed just being out and about for a few hours.

    Morning

Frith - If you are going to the National Gallery I would take the tube from Paddington to Charing Cross (Bakerloo line). Charing Cross is just a short walk to trafalager square for the national. I would then get on the No.11 in trafalger square to see the sights from the bus, depending on what you want to see will depend on which way you go.

CCP - The waitrose card gets you a free hot drink in their cafes (in some have to spend £1.60 in others not) and you get the Waitrose magazine free (usually £1.20). This months magazine has a couple of vouchers in to try Chocolate Almond Milk and Unsweetened Almond Milk.

TILAMS - Glad you had a good first day back to work

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Packed lunches and breakfasts for everyone again
    2. Another low spend day, still not broke into my £10 just using the loose change in my purse.
    3. Fakeaway chicken chowmein for dinner with enough left for my lunch today :D
    4. Lift into work off a friend who was on her way to the gym
    5. Nice walk home from work, I really enjoy my walk home as it blows the cobwebs away after a day stuck in the office.
    6. OH had called in to see his parents on the way home from work and his mum was telling him how much she had enjoyed our day out. Wish she had looked like she was enjoying it more at the time

Hugs to all who need them
  • Last of the Few An inspiration of anotehr time. I says YestDi about their words to us wet eared smallees in 1980. Their connections are diminishing by the day, their sacrifice of yuff a debt we owe. Will be getting my crisp Bank of England for 50 readied for them.

Rite, having a mix and snatch day. Some OS, some pure indulgeance!! May finish with a decent tossing session.

5 Went to the free gym this morning, rolled up on treadder to get dog roll buns, milk and cheese. snuck in a Freddie and Ms Sonny got the legs and I's got a decent head. Butchers sausages, but looked in the emporium meat shelves. Do people actually buy that carp? Looks a mess.

4 Turned butchers sausages into chilli dogs, with 8 day old festered on stove trois bin chilli, warmed through again. Just enuff left for Chilli Poodles tomorrow evening. Very OS.

3 Superb indgeance streak, Chocci Hob Nobs. Not OS, but I cud nots give, see sig for non expletive version Dunked into chain oil soaked tea!

2 Well after a decent head this morning, going to be a right !!!!!! again tonite, with pancakes, churned out homemade, by Ms Sonny to a secret recipes. Flooded with fresh lemon, dusted with icing sugars and topped with cocoa. Superb, and OS. Oh, and second shelf down, I have a special treat for out flown ol' bird, SPARRA!

    1 Home.

So that is the day so far, bit of OS, and some real damn good serious indulgeance!
