Mhagster - Great news that your OH is going back to work
TILAMS - Good luck tomorrow going back to work0 -
Ditto what Tealady said, McHags, that is fantastic for your DH.
TILAMS, Hope it goes very smoothly when you go back tomorrow.
1.I received confirmation that I start the new job on Monday, it’s going to be a very tight month with travel costs but at least there will be a payment at the end of it, I feel very lucky to have only been out of work for a month.
2.DH and I have this week of together, we don’t feel we can go away for the moment so have started on the shed base, today was concreting and cussing J
3.Went to docs and have the all clear ok to work and a repeat prescription before my pre paid cert runs out.
4.Going shopping tonight as if we can’t go away at least we can have some “good food” in.
5. I am actually looking forward to painting the garden fence tomorrow..hmm I know how daft that sounds.0 -
Well done, MHag's OH.
Here are my pleasures for today so far (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep!
2) Smaller son happy at home (another exclusion) and bigger son happy enough when he left for school.
3) Phone calls! I have spoken today to: Behavioural Support Team, GP, Health Centre, physiotherapists, Psych nurse, Paediatrician's secretary and the new school! AND... Parent Partnership and the lady who is deciding whether smaller son should have a statement of SEN.
4) Went to see brother's barn conversion. Electricty on and cold water working. Gruesome find today when he connected the mains water to the building. The smell is still strong in there and I think it might be lingering on my clothes....
.... he turned the water on and eventually had to turn it off at the mains and dismantled the stop !!!! tap thing. Where he found HALF A MOUSE!!! The rest of the mouse came out of the kitchen sink tap in smelly bits. Bleurgh.
5) Going to have a baked sweet potato for my tea and an early night with hwb. Quite tired today - too much to think about at the moment.0 -

Mhagster - wow - what a journey your family have been on - you must be so proud of your DH it must have been a heck of a long 6 months for you all xx
PK - go on you know you want one .. can't you find another body part ??
Dundee - aawwh that is really romantic ...it sure beats Frankel on your ankle or a running Taz on your Harris
5 for today
1.Work was ok - I have to get acclimatised by all of the noise again in an open plan office , having had a few days away from it.
2.Left at 3pm as had accrued an hour last week.
3. Saw my great nephew as my Mum was looking after him- he is 4 and so cheeky and had talked me into tying my Mums draught excluder door stop(??)- an acrylic stuffed snake into a huge knot . Much to his, and not my Mum's amusement .
4. Looked at the calendar at work and it dawned on me that I was on holiday from Thursday onwards next week until the 19th November. In my head it was still a few weeks away !
5. Made a quorn spag. bol for tea . Very nice .
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Hope all goes marvellously for you at work tomorrow TLAMS
Well, day 1 of being single has been......ok! I finished with OH yesterday as I'd been unhappy and kidding myself for a few months that it was just me being tense and stressed with my work situation. I realised yesterday that the spark had gone for me and I didn't feel like we were in a relationship, more of a babysitting arrangement with 'fringe benefits'
So, I did the mature thing and called a halt to it all. Feels okayish, hopefully will feel more okay in the next day or so.
Anyway, now I've spilled the beans, what have I been up to today?!?
1. Went into the office which felt strange but good chat with boss and a few other people
2. Deleted loads of now useless documents, still haven't done the filing I must do before I leave, oh well, there's still a while to go...
3. Completed an application form for a part-time job in my village library! Haven't sent it in yet as I'm struggling for a second referee, I guess I could write in an employer from many years ago, but it seems bizarre.
4. Have printed off details of another job in my village, which I doubt I'm remotely suitable for, apart from it being in an office, but what the heck, the thought of working within walking distance is a huge plus!!
5. Making carrot soup for dindins.
6. Cuddled up on the sofa with DD after school.
7. Her volcano cake went down a storm, it was polished off by the class
8. Have just sorted out a lot of my paperwork and it feels good to know where it all is.
9. Have arranged to go for lunch with a chum on Wednesday. I can't afford it but what the heck, doubt I'll be going out much now I don't have a free babysitter, lol.....0 -
Evening all.
mhags - that's great news about your OH.
TILAMS - best of luck for tomorrow.
VJsmum - hope you're feeling better by now.
Kittikins - I'm sorry to hear about you and your (now ex) OH. It sounds like it was the right decision, though.
1) I still felt ratherthis morning - and, as every Muppet fan knows, it's not easy being green
- so I phoned in sick and went back to bed with a purry fur blanket over my knees.
2) Had a bowl of raisin porridge for lunch, which was nicely warm and comforting on a foggy autumn day.
3) Felt better by mid-afternoon so I sorted out my home insurance and gas / electricity tariff - in both cases, it worked out cheaper to cancel my existing account and sign up with the same company as a new customer, as that way I get a cheaper rate and cashback. :money: but.
4) HM meatloaf for dinner again tonight - it's not what was on my mealplan, but last night's ad hoc recipe turned out to be a cracker and I really fancy eating some more of it.
5) The coastal fog horn has just started blaring, which always makes me smile.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Sorry to hear that, Kittikins and hope you're OK.0
