Yay to Sunday scone Mhags0 -
My 5 little pleasures for the weekend are :-
1...Walked down from dropping DS3 off at football practise to Coffe Morning at Church Bede House , instead of driving, so feel I have done some activity to help shift some pounds.
2...Did some taxi driving for DH , DS 1 and DS2 so just me and DS3 in the house tonight...time for some indulgent telly watching.:D
3...Caught up on my fave American comdey Modern Family, so funny!:rotfl:
4...Cycled to the next town who were having a 1940s weekend, and it was really great, a lovely lady in period dress singing the old tunes, eg 'We'll meet again' etc. Looked at the exhibits, a WVS stall with parafin cookers cooking up wartime recipes and even a veg patch with real plants growing to demonstrate how little space people needed to be able to grow their own veg.
5...Watched DS3 play a nerve-wracking football match and win 1-0 with him scoring the winning goal and being made Man-of-the-Match. Well Done !!!:beer:keep smiling,

My pleasures for today so far:
1) Good sleep.
2) House now immaculate!
3) Tatty chest of drawers taken away by Freecycler.
4) Had lunch at mum and dad's. Nice food. Dad's cousins were there (well, 2 of them) and they are very odd. :-/ I made my excuses and left after one of them said "We should never have got out of Ireland"... And too many references to the Telegraph for my liking.
5) Might have egg and soldiers for tea.
6) Stove lit, quiet night ahead. Bigger son will come home his father's to face a pile of homework. Smaller son fell off his bike there yesterday and had to go to hospital so I shall see what state he is in. :-(0 -
Yum yum, hope you're having custard with it TLAMS!

Evening all.
As I know I'm amongst friends here I'll make a rather embarrassing confession: I had a shower earlier as I was feeling a bit chilly, and stepped out to hear strange voices which sounded like they were coming from my living room. After a couple of anxious moments I realised the voices were coming from my living room, or rather from the television which I'd neglected to switch off before getting in the shower.
Ahem.
1) Finding a bottle of alcoholic ginger beer in the fridge, which helped ease a lingering stomach ache which I've had since I woke up this morning. (Something I ate yesterday seems to have disagreed with me. Sadly I think it might have been the HM onion rings at the pub, which I enjoyed so much at the time - they were rather greasy now I come to think of it.)
2) Looked through my OU course materials and found I'm much further ahead than I thought, and only have a couple of pages left to read until I finish this section.
3) Had a chat on the phone to my DPs and have made tentative arrangements to visit them next month and meet their new puddy tats. :j
4) Spent an hour or so looking at hotels in Brighton, as my sister has suggested we go there next summer for a meal in her favourite restaurant. I suspect that, like many of her bright ideas, this one won't come to anything, but it was an enjoyable way to spend some time anyway.
5) Made a meatloaf. If I can't face eating any tonight - my stomach still doesn't feel great- it will be an easy dinner tomorrow.
TILAMS - that looks so good!
DD - that definitely sounds like the same restaurant. It's always nice to find someone else likes a place too.
Have a nice evening, all. I might go and have another bottle of ginger wobbleade - for medicinal purposes only, of course!Back after a very long break!0 -

1) having not got to bed till gone 2 very long lie-in
2) finished tidying the kitchen. Am now challenging us to not throw out any of left over party food. Next few days' menus will be interesting ;-)
3) seem to have thesamenumber of bottles of champagne as we bought. Friends were very generous
4) lovely sunny day. OH went for bike ride and I read ahem a jeffrey archer. It's for the book club and have to say got so addicted to the story i bought the 2nd in the series kindle version for 20p :rotfl:
5) tattoo design chosen for tomorrow. It's either 7 or 8 on my list of 50 depending on whether i count reading my first jeffery archer novel.
Off soon to drive dd2 back to uni. She's still stressing over her essay :-( dd1 caught train back this morning and ds went 'home' after the party. Was lovely having them all home againMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Having a slight wobbly today, I am desperately trying to find pleasures whilst also being made aware daily that my DF may last another month or well not, feeling very emotional tonight as my mind just isn’t switching off. Thankfully my DB and I are able to vent with each other.
1.We got up to go to an afternoon boot fair to get there and find no one there, people just aren’t hardy these days, its the uk it rains.:o
2.We ended up in our local town, to be reminded why we don’t go there often, we did wander around and bought a few 99p essentials.
3.DH and I talked about when we used to have cash, yet thanks to MSE ways of life while we are getting back on our feet, we have lived within means and have a little bit of cash.:money:
4.Watching the animals dancing in the rain
5.Remembering to stick to the food plan, and marinating the pork chops in garlic and tomato, my cooking is a bit hit and miss but sounds nice.
6. Went through the kitchen store corner unit, and we aren’t doing badly enough for if the snow comes but also not too much as we have worked our way through it using it up in date.0 -
1. The look of TLAMS' pud
2. Fab time at church, including delish cake and chats with chums, what more could one ask for?
3. Friend's daughter has offered to babysit for free one night this week
4. Yummy dinner, was a bit worried that DD would turn her nose up as it was "curry", but thankfully she loved it, no leftovers though!
5. DD has made a great choccy cake which will be decorated as a volcano in the morning, including melted boiled sweets lava, nomnomnom. Almost a shame its going into school rather than staying here for our tummies....0
