Chicken, I know what you mean - I'm glad you voiced the 'what if Frankel broke down' thought... in my book, if you think it but don't say it, it has a bigger chance of happening. Voice the fear, and all will be well.

Tall people... our family does them in style. My DS is 6'5'' and the spitting image of a dark haired, dark eyed Dr Christian Jessen (from Embarrassing Bodies.) People are very fond of pointing this out to him, as if he had never possibly noticed.

Digital voice recorder has arrived. Wow, looks a bit complex - loads of functions. Won't let it beat me though. Maths book has arrived too and has lots of tips in it that I can collate for students.

  • Hi everyone :hello:

(((Hugs))) kitchen bunny, sounds like you're having a hard time x
missmoneysave, hope you feel better soon x
frith, glad you are getting somewhere now, shame it has taken everyone else so long to help you x

Ok, here are a few for today:

    1) Made some vegetable stock from scratch (I can't use stock cubes or gravy granules any more). Used some in a soup and saved the rest. I'll use some for gravy tomorrow and freeze whatever's left over.

    2) Made some carrot and coriander soup. The coriander was a bit limp... But it tasted nice :D

    3) Had a long journey yesterday and I managed not to panic (I get anxious in the car sometimes :o) so that was good.

    4) Went to a Cath Kidston shop yesterday and managed to not buy myself anything. But I did get our niece a really cute soft bear for Christmas :)(Can I keep it?!?!)

    5) I'm trying to catch up with my writing. I only did about a hundred on Thursday and I didn't do any yesterday  so really I should be writing three thousand today...

    6) We're off out to see a Queen tribute band tonight, so I'm looking forward to that.

    7) Home made fried rice for dinner tonight :)

Carruthers was left at the start, the starter having ignored Mattie's shouts that he wasn't ready... Not what I wanted. Hands now sore after screaming and clapping Frankel home. 14/14.

Skint, I love that horse icon! Frankel's given them a start before but not like that - you can imagine what I thought for a split second after what happened with Carruthers...

The way Frankel just cruised alongside Cirrus Des Aigles, who loves heavy ground, then "just" a bit of brisk pushing from Tom Q to win by a length and three quarters. That was class of the highest level.
Rishi Persaud didn't say anything totally idiotic when interviewing Sir Henry either.

  • 1) A bit of a lie-in after DH and DS had gone out.
    2) A nice magazine on the sofa under one of our crochet blankets so that the heating stayed off. It's time to get them all out again.
    3) Genius gluten-free croissants. I haven't had a croissant in years. Followed by grapes in Greek yoghurt. Yum.
    4) Since we were on our own, my Kindle and I went to the local cafe and got a free coffee on the loyalty card.
    5) Looking forward to a church event tonight. We were out at a Golden Wedding last night so I'm doing well this weekend.

  • Loving the horse icon.

Dam I put pay to today’s lovely relaxing shopping plans buy waking up with the most evil head pain, it wasn’t a migraine if possible it was worse I just couldn’t move, I took some of my strong painkillers and went back to sleep till midday, feeling a lot better now.
1.DH has decanted lots of salt and winter clearing stuff together into all of our containers, I think he’s expecting a lot of snow.;)
2.We have agreed today that both DH and I will take time out from the end of March while also saving, he will stop his business and we will get on with renovating, as the house has reached the point it’s getting “past it”, it seems sometime we have money but then not the time, others we have time but no money, so trying to put together a plan to make sure we have both, as it would be nice to have the house looking good and able to enjoy it for a while.
    3. I managed to push a mop around the downstairs, hallway, kitchen and living room, all be it half heartedly.:p
    4. Planted some Hebe plants in the garden, and have made a list of ferns we are actually going to a warehouse to buy tomorrow, mainly because if we don’t we will forget to do it.:rotfl:
    5. Sitting in the warm listening to the rain outside, lappy and tv on slobbing it out.
