5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Chicken - what does OGV stand for?
Frith - hugs
TILAMS :j (but not too much)
Tealady - that is some slow cooker - turning dodgy steak into a pie (hope you wrote "YUM" on it - it's the law)
For today
1. Trip to London with my dissertation marking. Luckily nothing to make me LOL really out loud this time, though I despair of masters students, I really do. People were looking at my flask of coffee with envy. I use that train a lot and know it doesn't have any kind of refreshment service. Desperately wanted to write "No Sh*t Sherlock" on a couple of them - I am not sure that counts as constructive criticism (dissertations not passengers).
2. Taking OS a bit too far - having read on here that Toss-co were selling massive blocks of cheese for a £ (worth a fiver) I decided to spend my hour wait in London tracking one down (10 mins from Euston, towards Marylebone if you're interested). Didn't have said cheese - but did have equally big and expensive blocks half price. Resultio.:T
3. As a result of all of that, I walked an hour today so more weightwatchers points towards my weekend wine.
4. Four different meals from the freezer all ready at the same time - lasagne for DS, Mac and Cheese for DD, nut roast for OH (was a year old, but he didn't notice) and salmon for me. I guess it isn't that difficult when a lot of it was microwaved.
5. LOLling at the pigeon feet all over my new glass roof - i think it deliberately stepped in the muddiest part and decided to earn its weekend wine by dancing on my roof :rotfl: Actually i think it might have already been on the wine as it couldn't walk in a straight line
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hello after the usual few days MIA.
1 - Beans and veg soup for dinner, nice and easy, as beans were already cooked yesterday
2 - Yoga class with my friend, good class as it only lasts 1 hour and it is mercifully free of mumbo-jumbo (save the last 30 seconds chanting OM but I can take that)
3 - Coffee and cake with said friend after yoga (only half slice cake each, we were being "good"!)
4 - BIG pleasure: today I started driving again after taking refresher lessons and being very frightened to get into the car after 13 years. But I did it and feel very proud of myself.
5 - Had a good laugh with DS about the Ice Dude on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zd7c5tQCs1I
Good night all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Still ticking on. And on. And on. And on. And Ms Sonny is overjoyed, she canna contain her sen.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

1. Great school day
Working with a different teacher today and tomorrow and she's equally lovely
2. NSD
3. Got the key to my friend's place as we're looking after the pets whilst they're away for a few days, and have come back with lots of goodies from the fridge that would apparently go off before they came back (she's the one I nabbed the stuff from last week so you can imagine how lovely it is, lol)
4. OH here
5. Going out to church home group in a mo
6. Made scrummy risotto for dinner and there'll be leftovers for my lunch
7. Had delicious chocolate brownies at school, courtesy of a teacher going on maternity leave, nomnom.0 -
Can't say there have been many pleasures today. Might be having to move and everything feels all stressed again. Sigh. Forgive me if I'm a bit subdued, I'm finding it difficult to feel more than empty about anything. Some pleasures though;
1. The company renovating our former warehouse at work to move into bought us employees a bacon sandwich each to apologise for the noise they were making.
2. Did give myself a bit of a pedicure. Amazing how much dead skin flakes off.
3. Finally watched the GBBO final. Couldn't avoid the result but it was good to see what it was all about.
Can't think of any more. I'm going to watch Wartime Farm in a bit and try and take my mind off stuff. Night all.
KB xxTrying for daily wins, and a little security in an insecure world.0 -
Big hugs KB, I hope that the possible move turns out to be a positive experience for you, sending calming thoughts your way x0

Hurrah for Friday ...again, week has just flown in.
1.OH and I went a gallivanting to a friends last night, he was a bit ambivalent about going but we actually had a good evening. Friends partner works in education and gave us some good advice re DD2.
He also helped me with some birds ....wasn't sure what a few of them were, so out came the bird books.
2. Phoned my sister this evening just to say hi and my favourite nephew who is one of my favourite people in the worldwas there. It's his birthday today and we all got to say happy birthday to him. He doesn't live there so was just luck that he was there. He's 29 .......I'm surely not old enough to have a nephew that age! Made me happy:)
3. Beautiful day after a lousy start. Was raining, thunder and lightning but turned out beautifully.
4. Was called ' young lady ' by a customer yesterday.....he was at least 20 years my senior so I was probably young to him.....made me smile:)
5. Just had a lovely chat with my friend from home.
6. Watched final episode of GBBO. Lovely jubbly!
Making my oldest daughter happy. She had an issue at school yesterday ,had a panic attack, didn't sleep last night and only told me as I was going out to work this morning......a simple phone call to school this morning and issue dealt with. School spoke to her, told her it was being dealt with and one happy girl when I came in from work......if only the bullying moos were as easy to deal with.
frith : I hope the meeting has a positive outcome.
Sparrer :ola , you will be there by now but have a lovely holiday
Kittikins:when do you finish up with work? Sounds like school has been fun.
Everyone else have the loveliest of days x0 -

Whooo hooo some great news, 1-5 I got the job:j:j, I am so so happy, it’s a promotion of sorts, I say of sorts I have been doing the job for the past 2 years or so, it’s just now I’ve finally got the title and pay. I am so so so chuffed. I know it can still fall through at the moment so just waiting for final confirmation. I have now got all of the paperwork, I'm just getting 2 years worth of references together.
I am daftly happy :j
I haven't cancelled the other interviews yet until it's all totally confirmed and I have signed everything.

Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Glad we went for laminate flooring not carpet when we redid the bathroom as much easier to clean when DD was sick on it yesterday:eek:. What a difference it makes her being happy in what she is doing as still wanted to go to nursery placement yesterday after being sick, she didn't go.
2. Bumped into a friend yesterday with her new baby, she is lovely and so quiet not like her mummy at all.
3. Yummy pasta leftovers for lunch. Work mate at next desk bought pasta from the local cafe and said it wasn't that good and next time could she have mine:D
4. Being naughty and eating some SO chocolate at work yesterday afternoon, I did share though. (Only beacuase they made me:p)
5. Getting a lovely thank you card off a friend for the baby blanket I had made for her.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
