  • PK - congrats on the job! Go you (hugs)
oldtractor - the chickens sounds great :) Hope they settle quickly and good on you for giving them a good home.

Well, long day today. I hate it when the rain is horizontal, and it's dark. Call me silly but I hate driving in the dark. I guess the driving bit is alright, it's the joining of dual carriageways and motorways I dislike. Well, at least the rain stopped and although we're forecast more overnight I can't hear it yet - which is good! It woke up my colleagues (I slept right through it!)

    Here's the pleasures then:

    1. Had a nice chat with my Mum about Mother/Daughter stuff. Haven't really had time to chat about ageing processes so it was really good. I think both of us felt the need for it and feel better for it.
    2. Have a couple of cross stitch ideas for Christmas and am making some small stockings as "tree presents". Found a snowflake alphabet sampler so will be stitching up some names to go on them too. :)
    3. Another cake day! This time a colleague brought in some raspberry iced buns with jam in ... mmm ...
    4. Lovely Rogan Josh for tea courtesy of my lovely Mum.
    5. I get to make a risotto tomorrow night for tea. My sister bought me a bottle of truffle oil as an early birthday present so will try that with some mushrooms. ... Bliss!

    Night all!

    KB xx

TILAMS jenny I'd :j for you but mustn't excite the ol' ticker ;)
OT welcome home to Helga, Eva and Olga
Chicken pleased for you you've got a holiday booked, is it Madiera? Never been there but it sounds lovely
Frith good to hear you've found another mum who knows your feelings and concerns. It's nice to have someone you can talk to about things you both understand
Kittikins great news, what a lovely lady she sounds
KB you're not on your own, I've been driving for more years than I care to remember and still don't like night driving.

    1. Packing, tried on 3 cozzies and two are now far too big :D
    2. Re-read details of the hotel, it has an amazing gym/sauna/spa etc so if/when we need to unwind from sightseeing, shopping etc., we know where to go
    3. Fridge cleared of all fresh food so nothing left to throw away. Just enough milk for my cuppa in the morning
    4. Received a cheque in the post, haven't had one for perhaps a year and now three have arrived in the space of a week
    5. Spent the evening helping a new acquaintance, very satisfying when she asked if she can see me when I get back.
    6. Going to Barcelona for a long weekend in the morning! :D. The forecast for the next few days is 23c/73f, and thunder storms :rotfl:

    Sleep tight :)

    Have a lovely time, Sparrer
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Oh ah, ticker do boo. Blood pressure down, weight down. Grrrr ready to roll.

Good luck to all, especially those with goooooooood news. And the travellers. If anyone is in Paris, I left my leather jacket in a hotel there back in April 1984, if you can, pick it up for me. The hotel bill needs paying as well!

1 Footballers failed again. Since Leon in 70, they have failed. Their fans have failed as well. Thank good I am doing rugby this season, far better supporter and atmosphere.

2 Perfecto grill roast for breakfast, marmite on toast! Lashingly served by Ms Sonny, she has a heart!! But not as good as my ticker. Loads of pump left in the girl now.

3 Cupple of wobbleades yesteve, with chilli poodles and snoggles with Ms Sonny, and a waltz as well.

4 Just going to wash treadder for a run this morning. May get a dog roll as well.

    5 It is finished.

    Now for the future

    Morning

PK - Fab new about the job, well done you:j
Kittikins - Great news on the reference, just shows what a good job you are doing.
Sparrer - Have a lovely time in Barcelona and travel safely
OT- Hens sound great and loving the names but Chickens did make me smile
TILAMS - Glad jenny is all in good working order and long may it continue

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Slow cooker on in the morning before work with some dodgy looking stewing steak. All turned into a yummy pie when I got home.
    2. Finally managed to sort out something at work that has been driving me crazy so as long as no one changes their mind can cross it off my list.
    3. Packed lunch for everyone yet again, getting so much better at this.
    4. Hearing some potential good news about my niece so keeping fingers crossed.
    5. Last but not least getting all the arrangements for operation Christmas Suprise sorted. Parents have booked lunch in a restaurant for christmas day and have managed to change the booking to include us without them knowing. Hotel booked for christmas eve so can stay under the radar but will be able to pay a suprise visit to brothers champagne bar and train tickets all booked. Just got to make sure not to give the game away as can't wait to see the look on their faces when we walk into the restaurant on christmas day:D

Hugs to all who need them

My 5 or so today (Thursday)

    1) Good sleep and smaller son stayed in his bed all night. (First time since mid August).

    2) Found out what was blocking the drainage outlet in the fridge - a grape! Cleaned all the fridge and shelves.

    3) Wanted to use up some veg from the fridge drawer so made a batch of soup with sweet potatoes, carrots and a leek. Got several portions in the freezer now and had soup for lunch.

    4) House quite tidy and fire going nicely.

    5) Smaller son excluded AGAIN. So back to school after lunch to pick him up. His TA is leaving today and it was pretty awful to have the furious headteacher behind me, who had been ranting about permanent exclusion and the TA standing in front of, telling smaller son he could email her at any time and would we like to go for a dog walk with her in the future? After smaller son had gone to get his bag, she nearly started to cry, getting upset that she had not been able to help him and she had always wanted to just give him a hug. :-( I'm terrible when other people cry, I was nearly off myself!

    6) Making a lovely cauliflower cheese with some bits of yesterday's gammon chopped up in it.

    7) Enjoying reading Two Caravans, despite near constant interuptions!

    8) Interesting phone call with smaller son's solicitor. We basically want son to stay in school (at least on the books, even if at home!) until his statement is completed... he may be sending school a rather pointed letter next week.

That's about it! Smaller son seeing Behavioural Support Team in school tomorrow, I have to speak to them then lots of people are going to a multi disciplinary meeting about son. I cannot go as I have bigger son off school for a teacher training day and now smaller son excluded!

Ooo, got a 9) Posted ex MrB's stuff back to him. Just had a text from my sister agreeing he is a weirdo. One day telling me he loves me, 3 days later, dumping me by text. I haven't heard a single thing from him in almost 3 weeks. :-/ Still, got rid of his stuff now.
  • Good evening all !

There is a bit of a cauliflower theme going on here ladies !

Frith ((hugs)) to you and smaller son . People are not problems , some people just have problems , which are usually caused by other people !.. It sounds like your son has been seen as a "problem" :(

OT - fluffy horses and feathered friends .. heaven

    a few for today

    1. Site visit started very early and I have just finished, minus lunch break . Had two Managers and a Director taking some serious blows from me about some of their shortfalls around delivering a decent service . They gave me a good run for my money though :rotfl::rotfl:A compromise of sorts has been reached:D

    2. Some gits had blocked my car in after the above visit . Managed to get the OGV out unscathed after about 50 manoeuvres . The air was 50 shades of blue I can tell you :o

    3. Just eaten my lunch!

    4 Day off tomorrow :)

    Have a good evening all!
