Tealady : what did you get for 8p?

just on to add an extra couple of pleasures:

6.DD1 came in from work with the joyous news of next episode of Downton on usb stick! Hurrah for Downton!

7.My son being quite affectionate! Last day of school tomorrow (he skipped a year when we came out) they have had 2 fun days and a formal assembly tomorrow. Been looking at all the crazy photos of friends dressed up (slightly more imagination than him!) then exams in 2 weeks , a formal dinner in December then ...........who knows?

8.Baby crow was being fed by mama crow when I went to bring washing in, then I saw another baby crow in a tree in back garden, so I think baby has fallen out of his nest and can't get back up.....must be 2 nests.(other one at front and very high!) Baby crow hopped all the way in front of me and I had to get DD2 to shut back door and I had to go round to the front door with my washing basket to get in! Do not want birdies in my house!

Right ,it is now bedtime! Night x
  • Just quickly popping in with my five from yesterday;

    1. Feeling a lot better and a little calmer. I think it was Sunday's truly lazy afternoon, I didn't even make a cup of tea. OH did it all for me :j

    2. Got the first draft of my essay written, well I actually got three written I just have to decide which one i'm going to develop further.

    3. Yummy homemade stew and dumplings for tea last night.

    4. OH did the big shop, I just made the list. I'd ran out of nearly everything but now stores are all topped up and got lots of food in which brings with it great peace of mind.

    5. My new soap dispenser arrived...it's dog shaped and makes me laugh everytime I see it. People are starting to think i'm obsessed with dogs but I don't mind being a crazy dog lady at all!

mhagster for 8p I managed to get a Special K biscuit free from boots using a voucher and from waitrose a magazine free with their loyalty card and a bread mix which was 89p but had a voucher for 80p off and the card takes a penny off your shopping as well so I was quite pleased with my 8p haul. Also the magazine has two vouchers in it to try Almond milk and chocolate almond milk.:money:

    2. Thought of a way to get something awkward done in an easier way. Good life. Simpler life.

OK day but don't seem to be getting anywhere fast with smaller son's schooling. Phoned CAMHS yesterday about another possible diagonisis and was told to speak to the paediatrician. Had a message from the paediatrician today that the matter was something for CAMHS !

Ampersand - no sloe gin just yet, 8 pints "brewing" on my living room windowsill.

Anywhere, here are my pleasures for today so far...

    1) Not a bad sleep apart from a kitten attack at 4am.

    2) Bigger son off to school happily, with his cookery lesson ingredients.

    3) The Dr phoned so smaller son is referred to physio.

    4) Smaller son's solicitor phoned and is going to write to school to see if he can get some sensible information off them on paper.

    5) Got our train tickets for our trip to London in half term! Excited now. :-) Not too expensive with the family railcard. We collected the tickets from the printout machine at the station. (Booked them online). Last night we were looking online and we agreed on the National Gallery and smaller son wants to go on a bus ride to see the sights. (No buses here to speak of so that's a treat for them!)

    6) Have brought another load of logs in, swept the garden, tidied up and cleaned the floors downstairs.

    7) Nothing particular to do now except light the fire and make a bit of tea. Looking forward to Holby later.
  • 1) Yesterday I made some household cleaner with bicarb of soda, water and lemon juice and cleaned the ensuite bathroom with it. Also, put some washing on (we seem to have a mountain of washing at the moment )

    2) Last night I had dinner out with a friend I hadn't seen for ages and we ate off the set menu so it wasn't very expensive.

    3) My dad called me last night, and we had a nice chat. I arranged to see him at the weekend as he's going away the week after.

    4) My mum has invited us to dinner on Friday night. With all these meals out I can put off the food shopping even longer. Just need MIL to invite us now!! She has a new kitchen though, reckon she's trying to keep it clean! ;)

    5) Made a gingerbread house with my friend today. So much fun and it looked pretty good, so I might attempt one for Christmas! :D

    6) My friend made me a lovely lunch.

    7) Due to a sensitivity I've found out I have, I've been selling off a lot of toiletries and they are going like hotcakes! I've made £78 so far! :j

Frith - The No.11 bus route in central london is a good bus to take them on as it goes past a lot of the major sites.

If your ticket includes a travel card it will be free on the bus as well.

Thanks, Tealady. We also get overwhelmed by a ride on the underground! We get off the train in Paddington so where would you recommend getting on the bus?

I can never get used to the scale of London; I get off the train and think "Oh, I'll walk to Chelsea/wherever - how far can it be...?"
