Grrr, blooming stupid idiots at the education dept Frith, hope it gets resolved soon. The new school sounded like a brilliant place
1. Nearly cracked and called/texted/emailed exOH last night as I was feeling a bit wobbly, but then reminded myself how much he had got on my nerves recently, and quickly changed my mind!
2. Have half-registed with a teaching employment agency who sound keen to get me TA work locally
3. Have arranged with my lovely boss that my last day actually in the office will be next Friday even though my official leave date is the following week whilst he's away on businessHas made me panic somewhat that I have a lot to clear up before I leave, so may end up going into the office tomorrow, eek!
4. Was taken out for a lovely lunch by a colleague who I will miss a lot, bless her!
5. Popped into a chum's to drop back some bits I borrowed and had a nice glass of wine, caught up on the gossip (she's going out for a hot date tonight, swit swooo) and she gave me some pressies she brought back from her weekend away whilst we animal-sat for her
6. DD very happy girl when Happy Feeet 2 turned up from L*vefilm. Darn it, I've been meaning to cancel it for a month nowbut at least the last film we'll get is one she loves. I thought it was pretty pants and not a patch on the first one, but there you go.....
7. Used a credit note I had for a shop to buy some lovely cheap costume jewellery, gorgeous 'gold' necklace and earrings and some snuggly slouchy socks to be part of DD's stocking fillers. Didn't spent a bean!
8. After my good chat with the recruitment consultant I felt really confident and ready to take on the world0 -
Apologies if i don't do catch-up reads yet. Already late to bed for 2.30h rise>Spitalfields.
Have been working all day on same - archaeological style dig in shed 2. - books - thousands.
1. Research on the jacket all borne out! Have printed articles re: owner/now convicted felon. Neighbour reacted to the name at once, even before I gave context. It is extraordinary.
2. Offered to obtain more laundry products using Mr T offers inset in current mag. for same neighbour. She especially hoped for some Ariel stain remover, using £1.50 Off coupon. En bref - only product left was a sachet, costing 69p - from which £1.50 was removed. Ten bought, ipso facto!.... :-)))))) She's thrilled, moi aussi.
3. On a notorious 5 lights snarl-up roundabout, all turned green one after the other, as I approached. It was lovely.
4. An odd-sounding dish of sliced beef[rtc 10p], Mr T Finest sweet red peppers[rtc 7p]and a red onion, gifted, bathed in left-over lamb roast gravy is simply delicious.
Taking some for Spitalfields munch.
5. The big heave-ho, to disinter old Black and Decker trolley, achieved. Showing its age, but gave it a good brush down, taped around bar handle, système D'd a wire mesh base with gkw and hopefully, it will ease my lumbering in and out with boxes and stock demain.
6. Not wishing to overly pester Mellifluous M, reluctantly called, just to make sure all was well for tomorrow. Just as well! Hadn't known that everyone needs to confirm with him on a Wed a.m. or else no plce is guaranteed. I was aware that I'd been boosted up the list from 1st time out, but hadn't known to what extent. I learnt elsewhere that he has at least 50 others hoping for any casual spot on any day, so I truly am lucky, but understand now there's no guarantee from week to week. Some ancients do have such rights, stone-cast from ancien r!gime.
7. Great Escape - quickly shot to village store for clothesline, to use demain for stringing up pics, serve as railing etc.etc. and noticed red car door warning light on. Ignored it, as glancing in mirrors etc showed all doors closed. When I got out at shop, saw boot had been up all the way - with the MTS horse picture of which I have high hopes poked in at the back....still there! Gorblimey!
8. Gym on Monday...did it. >3kg lost. Goodo! BUT, who was the mad woman who came in during my warm-up on bike, rushing to LOATHED cross-trainer and saying 'Aah, that's better' and proceeeded, responding to my incredulous interrogation, to declare that she LURVES the Vile Instrument. She was Fen Girl Chunky, too. Bonkers.
Sorry peeps, bed now. Up and away all too soon.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Ampersand: 2.30am wake up!!!!???!
Sorry not caught up on all posts yet, I didn’t expect to be posting this late.
1. We have spent 10 hours 2 people, DH mixed cement, I levelled it out, then had to go out and get more as er slightly miscalculated.:o
2. Lunch was a lovely BLT.nom nom
3. During making tea managed to get washing on, load the dishwasher and grab a casserole together in record time, multi tasking at it's best.
4. I’m totally and utterly shattered and achy, but nice to have done lots I err think
5. Really looking forward to a hot bath / washed hair to was out caked in grubby ness.:o

1) Was given a bag of apples by someone at DH's work who remembered I like preserving. I've never met her!
2) Date with DH this evening. It did cost us something but we went to a local curry restaurant with a fixed price buffet so we know what we are letting ourselves in for. It was absolutely lovely.
3) Had arranged to meet a couple of friends after work for a coffee and it almost went pear-shaped. I realised I didn't have any cash when I got there and was stalling for time when someone else rang and said she hadn't got the car so we all piled over to her house instead and I managed call home first and take a tin full of cake instead of paying for coffee. Phew!
4) The garden has produced about £150 profit this year in fruit and veg. Yes, I know it seems a bit odd to weigh everything as I bring it in but I was curious. I don't price it for organic produce, although it is, because some of it is wonky or spotty and would never make the shelves. However, it has been worth putting in the fruit trees (all costed in on previous years) and digging up the end of the lawn.
5) Am now starting on the tights mountain that DD passed on to me. They never last me long but at least I won't be buying any this winter.0 -
Have photo of tattoo but no idea how to post piccie. Bit sore today and skin. A bit wrinkly now like a badly applied transfer.
Agree vjsmum sonny get your marigolds oot man clean up that pancake :rotfl:
1) lovely slow start to day due to spending 90 mins at meeting yesterday on day off. Walked down to main campus with OH, had a coffee with a friend and walked back
2) then nice phd student made me a latte and i met someone who's been helping one of my masters students
3) lunch time seminar with free lunch. Met up with good friends i've not seen since august.
4) bacon, beans and tomatoes for supper with bread. Some nights you just need some quick comfort food
5) then off to pub for bible study. Was surprised vicar didnt know leviticus forbids tattoos. We looked at the camel through the eye of a needle bit in Mark. Was going to get bus back but friend on call so a) with car and b) sober so got lift back.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Well... here goes, usual collection, life quieter than usual so not so many.
1. Received email with details of extra p/t job I can apply for - not home-based, which will be a challenge with my arthritis, but something, at least.
2. My little netbook was worrying me as it sporadically disconnected from the net. I rebooted, scanned, and de-fragged and it's now so much better. Touch wood.
3. Wearing a pair of jeans I haven't worn in ages as I couldn't get into them and now can.
Also DD suggested I put a dart into the back of all good trousers and jeans that were now too big for me. I felt stupid for not thinking of it myself, but I've never had to do this for the simple reason I've never lost as much weight when I had items that I wanted to alter.
I've done the dart for the first pair of chinos and it worked really well, 4'' straight off the waist and they don't look weird.
I wondered why I hadn't done it before in 1992, when I lost nearly 3 stone, then I realised. I lived in tracksuits when I was a child-minder. I can remember how empty my wardrobe looked compared to now, and tracksuits have elasticated waists.
4. Getting marks out of a long line cream knitted jumper I swore I only wore once last winter and put away clean. Used free sample of Vanish Sensitive.
5. Free book in post to review on dog behaviour.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Haven't posted for a long time as had bad couple of months in a variety of ways - nothing major but lots of little things and not had the energy to post.
Will hopefully post regulary from now on.
1. Collecting lots of chestnuts - had thought that there were very few on the trees.
2. Cookies and chocolates at work.
3. Took lunch into work.
4. Had spag bol for tea and put leftovers into the freezer.
5. Good walk with my dog and seeing a lovely sunset0 -
Good morning all !
Villagelife -it's nice to have you back x
Kittikins - well done re not ringing your ex
VJsmum- seems like you are getting your mojo back
Dundee- my Mum had her tattoo done when she was 72 !
PK - it sounds as if you are more than qualified to get a job with Highway Maintenance . I shall name you "William the Concreter "Didn't make the bike - ate a HUGE bag of popcorn instead and fell asleep at 7.30 pm
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Morning
Frith - A travelcard will get you on the bus and underground for free all day. For the boys if they are under 11 they get free transport but if older they need to have a child oyster which is a photocard which gives them free travel until 16. Some drivers don't check and just let them on but others can be a bit of a stickler. You can buy a child travel card for older son for day at a discounted price to adult one. Hope this makes sense.
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Another day of packed lunches and breakfasts for all even though we had overslept:o
2. Had to break into my £10 yesterday as bought DD a musical candle for her birthday cake. She is 17 today
3. Free posh Shampoo and conditioner in the post to trial with 3 very generous size samples to give to friends. Samples given out to 3 friends who were very happy to get them.
4. Slow cooked beef casserole for dinner. Love my slow cooker in this weather so easy to prepare and makes life easier when I get in from work. The giant yorkshire puddings that I served with it were not such a success more pancake than pudding
5. Finished yet another blanket and really pleased with the results of the colours I had used. Have another one to put on the frame over the weekend as had another request from someone for one. Need to learn to say no.
Hugs to all who need them0
