Hello, it has been the most lovely day here, pleasantly warm, flowers and trees all in bloom and generally people looking happier to see the sun.
1.Hmmmmm.....work ! Got through the day , bit fed up with work at the moment , though that will pass, however, it was payday !
2.Had lunch at the duckpond, nice to sit in warmth of sun for 15 minutes, busier than usual! Lots of beautiful birds and big dragonflies.
3.Walk with OH, once I got home, he was 'too tired' to walk but I told him he needs fresh air everyday! So we walked to library, to post office and to say hello to DD1 at her work.
4. We have a kids nursery nearby and they have hens and ducks that were out and about today.....and also a lamb! It was just beautiful.....everytime someone went by it went 'maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' 'maaaaaaaaaaaa' ......can just imagine other neighbours saying " can you hear a sheep?"
Can't think of number 5......but it has been a good day!

1. NSD, getting good at these, I guess being in a school really helps, you just don't get the opportunities to waste cash!
2. Slept like a log last night, it was bliss to be snuggled down in my bed and consequently DD and I both overslept a wee bit this morning but were still in school on time this morning - phew!
3. DD's chum walked up with us and was a little cutie as always
4. Heard lots of girls singing camp fire songs from last night around the school, bless them!
5. A friend at work has just emailed me to say that people are hoping I'll have a leaving do - heck, yes, I'm leaving with my head held high!
6. No Rainbows tonight so DD and I can chillax......aaahhh...........
7. Going to ask DD to make dinner tonight, I feel that a bowl of her risotto will hit the spot, nomnom0 -
You'll be pleased to hear that Just a Minute has finished for a while, Ampersand. Unfortunately, that leaves us with the very silly Museum of Curiosity on Monday nights - can't stick that at all!
5 or so for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got smaller son to finish his homework this morning. This involved taking his homework up to him on a tea tray so he could do it in bed without having to get up and get cold AND putting his uniform in the tumble dryer so it was warm for him to put on!
3) Went into town and did the charity shops. The YMCA shop was selling adult tops at a £ and children's at 50p. So I got smaller son another white polo shirt for school (Lands End) and a shirt for me from White Stuff.
4) Went into a very ostentatious jewellers with smaller son's watch (he'd lost part of the buckle). I thought I would have to buy a new strap but they went round the back and found a new buckle for me. :-)
5) Did a big shop at Sainsburys including some nice storage containers for my food cupboard.
6) Diet continues. Porrige for breakfast with blueberries and a banana. Sainsburys healthier option wrap for lunch plus pineapple pieces and a smoothie. Pasta and tomato sauce for tea. Sneaky chicken and crab apple jelly (home made!) sandwich for supper.
7) Got home and have a demijohn of sloe gin on the go now.
8) Mum had her plaster cast off today (she had her ankle rebuilt using tendons that used to move her toes).
9) Stove on and looking forward to watching Holby later.0 -
Hmmm not entirely sure what to say about today other than where’s my Malibu and coke. I got up having heard a noise, I checked and thought it was odd that one of our litter trained menagerie had missed, then noticed all the misses were blood, what seemed like a lot of blood. Trying not to be alarmed and expecting a dead animal I found a very sorry for itself Revel, :eek:I hugged him phoned the vets, sorted the vet cage and got up. Now before leaving I mentioned we need diesel as the truck is running on fumes, but both DH and I were concerned and talking about anything to take our minds off the horrible idea
Now our vet is fantastic but about an hour away, we got there nice and early and decided to pull in to fill the truck up. At which point DH made a comment that the diesel pumps are the wrong colour, then something happened, the car in front of us shot off and lots of movement. So we pulled forward I was checking on the animal DH filled up and I popped into to pay. At which point she says that’s blahh unleaded, a moment’s hesitation then I see DH also coming in I pay up and he comes over asking the lady behind the counter what he has just filled up on, and it dawns across everyone we have just put petrol in a diesel,:o not just some a whole months worth of petrol/diesel for us.
We push the car to the side out of the way start walking to the vets down the road, I phoned her to say we are now running late, and bless her she came and picked us up, in the back of the vets, cuppa for each of us.
Revel was in a bad way with a burst ulcer bleeding out, but has survived. Then the lovely vet ran us back to wait for green flag. But with the best will in the world the car isn’t broken down so they put us in touch with their contractor who takes us to their site, removes the fuel and puts £15 diesel back in. So we lost a month’s worth of fuel for us £90, paid out £200, and then had to fill back up. So err ouchy. DH is extremely sheepish, the vets being Scottish say it as it were rolling about in laugher taking the mickey mercilessly.:rotfl:
I then picked up a vm saying my interview Thurs is cancelled they have hired internally.
Seriously thinking about going back to bed....
Bright sides.
1. Revel has survived and is recovering,:j I haven’t included his cost of treatment in the above as they have their own account, phew.
2. Err we have a very clean fuel tank.
3. We have a freezer full of food that is what we will be living off for the next month.;)
4. We can laugh it off and talked to loads of people today who have done the same thing, glad we aren’t an argumentative couple
5. Our lovely vets, just putting thought into how to send a thank you, I would like to send more than a card.
6. I have meal planned for this week, I picked it up from this forum and I’m finding with a bit of mix and matching days wise it is working.:)
7. Looking forward to visiting the in laws tomorrow0 -
PK - what a day for you!0

PK (((hugs))) sorry to hear about your awful day x
Chicken thanks for your good wishes
Had a bit more bad news yesterday re DS's eyesight/field of vision. Not sure if he is going to be able to get provisional license and after paying £15 for test at opticians for binocular field of vision test we are still non the wiser. Have bought printer ink so will just have to print off V1 and send to DVLA. If he cant drive he cant get in the Police ...
Anyway, for today:
1. My interview was at 9.30 only 15 mins drive away but decided to take a taxi so I could arrive unstressed.....
taxi didnt turn up
rang them and was told traffic so bad it would be another 15-20 mins (this was 35 mins before my interview)
Jumped in the car at 8.55am and managed to get to destination in 15 mins and park in local tesco customer car park for free so saved my taxi fare and arrived on time
2. Interview seemed to go well, apart from first 2 questions where I was so nervous I couldnt breathe and could hardly speakbut then I settled down (and they didnt ask any questions about my disability or sick leave
)
3. Didnt have to go into work until 12.00 :j
4. popped to asd@ on way home and used price guarantee voucher from last visit
5. Got home before the rain started

Hugs PK, apparently my dad has done that twice in his life!! Sorry to hear about the pup and the interview cancellation, that's really rubbish news. You've had your 3 bits of bad luck today, so hopefully things will get better and better from now on x0
