Kittikins - get well now please !!!
VJsmum - did you get "some grit in your eye?" (in a very clipped English voice of course )at St. Pancreas
Frith - it sounds as if your sons had a lovely time . Just a thought ... maybe your OH doesn't like others being the centre of attention ? Hence no text .. making it all about him again , you find out/wonder what's "wrong" etc.... Dunno sounds a bit gamey to me I guess we all have "scripts we follow" and "roles" we adopt in all of our relationships and sometimes doing something that doesn't follow the "script" may change the status quo . Frith we all want you to be happy , you do deserve it xxx
Happy Sunday all !!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Chicken - nah!!
Might be due to the lack of orchestra playing Rachmaninov though! Mind you when I came back through later on there was a chap playing the piano....
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Still complete silence from OH so I texted him to ask if he is coming round this afternoon (he did say he would, last weekend, although wouldn't say when).
Got a text back "No". Few minutes later had second text "Had enough".
Presumably this is a good point for me not to reply? He's off working abroad (again) tomorrow for another week then has a further week looking after his children when I probably wouldn't see him. That would then have been the end of the 9 weeks away.0 -
Your OH is being a prize plum, leave him to stew in his own juices Frith, you don't need this kind of hassle and me, me, me behaviour...Hugs xx
1. DD and her little chum awoke at 6am which isn't a pleasure, but they did leave me alone for a while and just lay chatting and giggling, then put a DVD on.
2. Felt grotty as a grotty thing until about 1pm, so was very pleased I could just relax on a sofa wrapped up in a duvet for the morning. The joy of having a 7 year old rather than a 2 year old!
3. NSD
4. NPD
5. OH has just text to say he's got more 'work' from his chum, the 'work' paid for most of our holiday this year, woohoo, here's hoping
6. Lovely afternoon with DD watching Bake-Off on iplayer, we do love a bit of Mary and Paul - and the 3 of us watched the junior version this morning. (Honestly, we have done more than watch TV today, but not much....)
7. The girls made (with my helf for the hot bits), cheese on toast and salad for lunch, nomnom
8. They did tons of homework, so will definitely get a star in their books this week!
9. I've made a yummy carrot, potato and cauliflower 'ratatouille' for dinner tonight, smells divine!
10. We've also squeezed in a guitar jam session this afternoon0 -
Hi chaps! Frith, I think Chickenopolis' advice was spot on, unfortunately. Luckily, you have lots of other wonderful things going on in your life.
1) Taught Sunday School and it was wonderful. The lesson was all about not wanting to be famous but to be childlike and try to learn what God wants us to grow into. I did a presentation on the laptop about famous people and their little noses were pressed against the screen! I do regret the loss of children's empathy with books these days, but if it works, I'll use it.
2) A load of washing drying on the airers instead of going round in the drier, saving us at least 50p, but every little helps.
3) Date with OH in our local coffee shop. It's often the only time he will talk to me about work and I like finding out what's going on.
4) Macaroni cheese for supper, made to an old Linda McCartney recipe. I'm trying to cut down our meat intake slightly.
5) Making sandwiches for DH and DS for tomorrow. I absolutely hate it but the amount it saves on lunches is astonishing, so my wages per hour as I put them together are quite something.
Have a peaceful evening, everyone.0 -
I am a victim of a laptop that is trying to give up the ghost, and a weird day as DH is all mood swingy, hey ho, thinking of giving him an evening primrose...:rotfl:
A lot of foody pleasures.:o
1.Tee hee a cheeky one from last night, we popped into Mr T as it’s on the same road as the Chinese, and picked up some 10p sweet corn and all 30ps for luxury burgers, what will be animal chicken and a posh something or another pizza. The take away was also a delicious treat.
2. Left over Chinese for lunch today.:p
3.Went to the diy place to take advantage of the 20% and everything we wanted fence protector, and some bits and pieces were all on offer, fence protector was 50% free as well for the same price in the right colour bit of a result now just have to get it on the fence.
4. Cooking slowly for dinner is marinated chops with corn on the cob, with HM coffee cupcake for dessert.
5. Err washing is all up to date;)0 -
1 - 5 relieved the day is over and am back in my little nest.
Sweet dreams0 -
Good morning from me....Monday here and about to start the day and head off to work...an extra day off spoiled me and I could see it far enough ...however, needs must!
For Sunday:
1. Early morning chat with my niece back home .
2. Sunday swim.....in pool for 7 am. Back home by 8am.
3. Popped up to the library again and watched another episode of bake off, so I'm all up to date with programme.
4. OH and I popped out to next town, he got some new clothes , as he has lost serious amounts of weight his clothes have been hanging on him...all clothes on the sales! Bought a couple of Christmas gifts.
5. Nice chat with my sister and then dinner of steak pie, roast potatoes and parsnips, broccoli, carrot and turnip mash. Totally yummy and totally stuffed. However I did manage a plateful of rhubarb ( from my garden) and strawberry sponge. A very nice combination.
Chicken : not had a Saturday scone in months ! Maybe , now OH is getting a bit stronger our routine will return. He is still exhausted by simple things...but we're getting there.
Frith: glad your son had a lovely 12 th birthday and hugs to you (())
Right, I'd better go and face my public....have a good nights sleep.0 -
Frith (((hugs))) you sound resigned to the end of the relationship, if you dont feel like fighting to keep it going maybe thats for the best. IMO what you have been describing for some time does not sound like a healthy relationship for you or your sons. Thinking of you... whatever you decide you have lots of support here x

5 for today (Sunday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got house tidy again after the birthday party.
3) Plenty of cake left! (Well, not now there isn't, but there was this morning).
4) Went to a local eco place and had a look round for their open day. Bought a bottle of freshly made apple juice. Sons weren't really in the mood, though.
5) Sons round next door a lot of the afternoon so I sat in front of the stove and watched Casualty on the iplayer.
6) Finished bigger son's homework with him.
7) Watched Dr Who with sons and MrN's son 5.
8) Rather a nice tea. Had some cooked sausages left from the party so made a big toad in the hole. Looked in the fridge and had a bag of Basics peppers from Sains so just fried those up to go with it. And did some gravy.
All pretty organised and ready for school in the morning.
P.S Thanks for kind messages. I think it is fair to say OH (now demoted to MrB) has had his chips. This sulky behaviour when I am occupied with my children has gone on for a long time.0
