Aw thanks, sorry it was such an essay. Funny :rotfl:but painful on the ol bank acct.

Skint:- Fingers crossed for great interview feedback.
  • Thanks ampersand

The most annoying thing is that up until May 2012 DS would have met the DVLA rules for driving. Since May the rules have changed to bring us in line with the EU

Oh well, nothing we can do other than send all reports etc to DVLA and fingers crossed

    Evening all.

Apologies for the lack of posting recently - I've been trying not to switch the pooter on too often, which of course means no forum. :undecided

Skint - I'm glad the interview went well - fingers crossed for the right result for you.

PK - yikes! I'm glad both Revel and the truck are OK, albeit at great cost.

I'm feeling a bit off-colour at the moment - down and tired and fed up with my foot hurting. :( There must be pleasures, though:

    1) Went back to work yesterday and found a note on my desk saying that I'd won the first of the new monthly office book club prize draws, so I've got a £12 book voucher coming my way. :)

    2) Made the company secretary laugh by flopping around the office in slippers, the only footwear I can cope with at the moment (and even then not for long :().

    3) A very kind colleague walked up to town to collect the books I need for my new OU course, which I should have started on Saturday but... erm... didn't. :o I really will get started soon - maybe tomorrow... :o

    4) Mog greeted me this evening with purrs and a brief - and sadly rain-curtailed - wish to go outside, which is a real pleasure as he's been very listless and sleepy for the past couple of days and I was starting to fear the worst. I don't think he's ill, just getting old - I'll take him to the v-e-t for a check-up as soon as I can drive again, but I think they'll just say it's his age. :(

    5) I haven't yet put the heating on - for the last few evenings I've thought I would, just for half an hour or so, then realised at bedtime that I've never got round to doing so. Long may my absent-mindedness continue!

    6) I have no real appetite tonight so I think I'll treat myself to an eggy mayo sarnie.

Have a good evening, all - I hope it's drier elsewhere than it is in Portsmouth!
Back after a very long break!

    Good evening all!

PK- blimey! Wow adrenaline filled (instead of petrol) day for you then . Glad to hear that little Revel is battling xx What an excellent vet though ! Hope tomorrow is a better day for you all !

Skint - well done you -another adrenaline filled day! .Fingers crossed xx

    a few for today

    1. A baby frog was presented to me at 5.30 am as I was getting out of the bath by OH as it was found hopping around the kitchen. He presented it to me in the bathroom in a pint glass - not much fun when you are naked.... said the frog ;).

    2. Work = meetings x 4, but this made the day pass quickly.

    3. We have acquired the company of an unknown Seagull . Unknown as in, not our Stephen Segal Seagull but a juvenile who is wobbly on his pins. Hens going crackers as it seems so weak that it can't fly up out of the garden or off of the shed roof. OH has put it in the second hen coop to give it a fighting chance against foxes (and hens). It was trying to bite OH like a puppy when they just have their mouths permanently open :rotfl:. OH can keep an eye on it tomorrow and call the Gull rescue people if it survives- I hope it does. He seemed very very hungry and weak.

4.Quiet evening in as OH out. Will check on critters and go on the bike drobe for a bit !

Have a good evening all !

pk poor you but good about the cat. Your vet sounds like one in a million
skint good luck with the job
    chicken stephen seagull :rotfl:
    1) got onto main campus early and sat in garland cafe (top floor of life sciences building) with a latte going through review. Fab views
    2) free lunch after meeting :P
    3) caught bus back to work (as running late for 2pm meeting bleuh) didnt know the bus number but he assured me it stopped at my stop. Was a little alarmed when we dived down a cobbled street but got there the scenic route
    4) finished off the sausage stew for dinner. More than enough for us both but we persevered :P boy i'm stuffed
    5) another montalbano. Is scicily really that empty, or could they not afford extras?

  • 1) Curry juice (where most of the interesting bits have been used for a previous meal) and left over rice for lunch, plus one of our apples. They're softening now and better for it.
    2) A chat with an old friend in her conservatory. She lives near work and it's very relaxing to have half an hour with her before I go home. Plus, it doesn't cost a thing!
    3) Watched a free film on the sofa with DS when I got in.
    4) Advice from DH - I've got a niggle at work and am going to chat to The Boss about it tomorrow. DH is very supportive, if a little disrespectful, about it all and that helps.
    5) Ordered my OU reading list yesterday and managed to save a few pounds by getting some second hand. I can borrow two more and just had to take a deep breath for the rest.

    Have a peaceful evening.

PK very glad that Revel is fine but sorry about diesel misadventure!

    A few pleasures for today:

    1. Now that I no longer work I love being able to make DH's breakfasts and packed lunches, it makes me feel good looking after the man I love.

    2. Driving lesson went well, I might not need 5 more, maybe just one or two to refresh reverse parking etc.

    3. DS came with me to do my shopping, it was good to have him with me, chatting away about this and that. I treated him to a fancy coffee and slice of cake at local coffee shop.

    4. Managed to progress in my clearing up mission in the study room, a while to go but it is taking shape.

    5. Done my week's work with the boys! I cooked them pasta Carbonara for tea and they loved it.

    Good night x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

(((PK))) so sorry to hear about your carp day. Not good at all but thank goodness you can see a funny side to it as well
(((Skint))) sorry to hear about your DS. Mine was determined to go into the police force from the age of 9 but his eyesight let him down too. Fingers crossed you get a good reply from DVLA
Too true TILAMS, stiff upper lip and all that. Btw that's a lot of circuits of the school!
Chicken your tale of the froglet in the bathroom did make me chuckle :)
mhags your seat by the pond sounds lovely. Pleased you managed to persuade your OH to walk, even though it must be difficult for you I do admire your strength

    1. Feeling quite ashamed of myself for letting a silly situation get the better of me when others here are going through a genuinely difficult time. Not really OS but I'm fortunate if that's all I have to complain about :o
    2. The lemon/cream rug looks lovely, CCP I think you'd like the new colour scheme in the lounge, lemons and creams which make it look bright and cheerful. Hopefully it'll still have a sunshiny effect in the Winter
    3. Went round the house with a tin of white paint and a brush and touched up some little bits that had been outstanding for ages. It took no time at all and I wonder why I didn't do it a long time ago!
    4. Love and Marriage on C4. What a lovely, heartwarming programme
    5. Again not OS but funny, I just had a shoes in fridge moment when I took some grapes out of the fruit bowl, took a teabag out of the caddy, put the grapes in the cup and put the teabag in my mouth :rotfl: Obviously getting tired, time for bed

    Sweet dreams :)

Oh dear PK - I very nearly did that once. Glad you can laugh and Doggie is ok
    Sparrer - daft thing!
Chicken - OH won't let me have Llamas. I even offered to compromise on Alpacas but he still said no. They use llamas hereabouts to mind the baby lambs from foxes. Bizarre to see a llama just randomly standing in a field of sheep.

    today

    1. woo bl0)dy hoo - radiators removed. Some bad language (his) and no water spilled. £sss saved on a plumber. TIs a shame we don't do plastering!
    2. Yummy home made soup for lunch and tea - tea was also with home made bread with home made jam on it for pud!
3 Am coping with my new get to work routine. Take DD to school in car, drive to railway station and park car, get train to work. Takes a while but I can catch up MSE on train and I get to walk to the office from the train station.
    4. DS came 9th in Cross country - he has come 3rd, 5th and 9th in his age group out of the whole town. He has earned his school colours.
    5. Coffee and a [STRIKE]bitc[/STRIKE] er gossip with colleagues.

    I never have a NSD :(
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Have a good day all !
