    1. Low spend day, the YS bargains needed to come home with me

    2. Fabulous day at school, it just flew by

    3. Popped over to a friend's for a cuppa and a couple of doughnuts.......eek!

    4. Free flu jab at work

    5. Kenny Everett on TV :)
  • 1) Had a chat with The Boss about the niggle and though we disagree entirely we're still friends. I've just agreed to everything he wants and we will see if it pans out.
    2) More curry juice for lunch. I'm quite sad it's run out.
    3) Have just eaten an apple instead of the chocolates I really want. DH offered to go out and get me some but I feel much better about this.
    4) Planted a slip of apple tree in with my kitchen lemon plants. It's very unlikely that it will take but I felt so guilty when I pulled it off my ballerina tree by mistake that I have to give it a chance.
    5) My cousin texted to say that the picture of our Gran that I sent by post has arrived and although the glass was not intact, she loves it and will have it reframed. I also sent some of Gran's embroidery, as I have had some of that framed and it looks lovely.

Keep posting chaps, it's a pleasure to read them all.

2.Work was ok - but even better when I booked two plus weeks leave in November. We might visit our friend in Spain .. or we may not , but need to do a VJsmum and get my passport out !

Do it!! I can honestly say that I have never regretted a single penny i've spent on a holiday - and winter sun? What's to lose?

    Evening all.

It's called Religion in History - despite the title, it's mostly about the history of Christianity, which is what I'd like to do as a masters eventually. (I know, I'm bonkers for even considering doing one!)

Again, do it!! I have a masters (with distinction doncha know!) in Construction Law. No-one who knew me at school would ever have thought me masters material - but a bit of hard work and sheer determination can work wonders. Work are pressing for me to do a PhD - but I think it's a step too far. The bull !!!!!! bingo monitor would be off the scale with all those "synergies" and "pedagogies" and "phenomenologies". Although the thought of "Is it Miss or Mrs" "no - DOCTOR" is tempting. That and the funny hat on graduation day.

    OK so today's pleasures

1 OH took DD to school so I had an hour to chill and do some chores before work
2 the two [STRIKE]old dears[/STRIKE] shop assistants in Oxfam trying to work the till had me :rotfl: In the end I worked it out for them - I only bought 3 cards
    3. DD being really chirpy after school - she had done her audition and so was a bit hyper. Reckoned last week was her "big meltdown" before settling down. Let's hope...
    4. A big story on the news. More uncertainty but might get OH to retirement without too much trauma - here's hoping
5 Date night - meal out with OH. Lovely. It is good to be reminded that I like his company - sometimes it feels like we are passing ships.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Just to add another sneaky pleasure -

Someone at work saw my ghastly pink clip file with a dog on it and went into raptures and so I promised that she could have it if she brought me in something similar as a swap. Today she brought in a fabulous purple file, in far better condition than mine, and happily swapped all my papers over. Everyone was happy.

(And yes vjsmum you can call me the doctor :rotfl: love the synergise bingo. Yesterday i found myself explaining bloom's taxonomies to a senior lecturer and a prof

    2) external examiner's meeting followed by free lunch :P
    3) got 2 free copies of a book i wrote a chapter for
    4) walked to bible study in the pub. It.'s 2.2 miles and i did it in 35 mins
    5) had a nice chat after with my mate who i've not seen for a while.

Wow reading through everyone’s posts there are some great positive things going on. :)Sorry to not quote everyone but it is 1.30 in the morning.
It went against my better judgement getting up today..:rotfl:
1.Got downstairs hallway, kitchen, lounge is all cleaned and mopped.
2.Drove over to the in laws and had a lovely time,:T it was nice to go during the week as well, MIL fed us up with winter comfort food shepards pie with lots of hg veg. We came back loaded up with food for tomorrow, and some bits and pieces from them clearing some bits and pieces out. While there we sorted some computer issues and DH installed a new light. :)
3, Sorry out of sync, I popped into Lidls as it’s the only time we drive past one without going out of our way, and stuck to a strict list that I had price checked beforehand, barring the mine pies we picked up for Christmas stock only to just now find the BBD is Nov! Ah well not exactly a hardship to have them :rotfl:

4.Came back and soaked in a lovely hot bath
    5. Remembered to just now take some food out of the freezer for tomorrows meal plan.:p
    6.Today was better

    PK - how is Revel??

VJsmum- I do agree about getting the old passport out . I have enough "stuff" in my life and now value experiences rather than acquiring "stuff" .Does that mean I am getting "old" ??

CCP - go for it ! If you enjoy the subject that you are studying then its much easier to succeed .

Last day at work until the weekend !!

Have a good day all !

    31o today....HOT!

    1. Lovely morning , not hot and a wee breeze as I walked from carpark to work. Ducks and their ducklings make me smile every time. I always think they look like happy ducks.

    2. Work was okay again, had a nice lunch at duck pond and enjoyed sunshine on my skin. My vitamin D levels are very low so trying to get a bit of natural sunlight every day. Many people in Oz have low bit D levels because we put so much sun protection on. So I'm trying to get a balance of safe sun and natural Vit D.

    3. My boss bought me a lovely juice from juice bar next door to work and then he and other colleague !!!!!!ed off for an hour to enjoy the sun....left in charge! I then stood in juice bar queue for 15 minutes after work to buy OH the same juice as I thought he would really enjoy it.

4.not my pleasure, please understand.....but DS was out on his mountain bike and saw 3 snakes. I am terrified of these and in papers and news there are warnings that they are becoming active again as it warms up. He was in a country park type place, so not exactly in my back garden.he was so excited when he came in and told us all about it! His pleasure rather than mine!

    5. Windows and doors are all open , fresh air throughout the house, washings done and dried.....weather to change to cool again tonight. This was the warmest day in 7 months.

Have a lovely day....almost the weekend, hang in there!
