Hello......I know I'm not one to moan (....much!) but it's warm! It's 25o still and to be 28o tomorrow. 28o is my absolute cope with temperature, anything higher and I just don't cope! Tis only Spring and we still have summer....

1.A better day at work....think I've just had a couple of 'off days' and the feeling of fed-up-ness will pass.

2.Lunch with the ducks and a crow (not sure if it's the same one every day!) but he stands in the pond, as if to cool down and then plunges under the water and every time looks like he gets a shock being wet!

3.Came home and all I can hear is the sound of Spring, lamb ! (still find that one bizarre) and a blackbird singing away!

4.Went a walk round the block with OH, this does exhaust him but he needs to start and build up some strength again.

5.I'm going to wander up to library and see if I can watch Casualty on youtube, it wouldn't download the other day. It uses up too much of my precious internet and with our dodgy and sporadic connection takes far too long to watch.

6.Came home to a letter from a friend and a package of photos from one of my best friends from home. Her DD's first day at school.....it was full of 'fairy dust' aka blooming glitter! Also a letter from taxman (UK) saying I'd missed a year of National Insurance contributions........er ,perhaps that will be because I live in Australia? and would I like to make a lump sum deposit?

So ,half way through the week already, one of my customers said I wish my life away by counting down to the weekend! I just think I find it hard dealing with one day at a time.....I have always been a plan a head-er...but with OH being ill, we just have to take a day at a time and at the moment we can't look too far ahead.

Anyway, apart from poorly pets, poorly people and poorly diesel tanks, make sure you all have a lovely day and have a day filled with little pleasures!

Oh, seems that a hawks brew is in the offing, boiling up and pored scorn. Come on, spill the beans. Everything will be dealt with sacastically and broadcast to the world. Feel free.

5 Is amazing to see Ms Sonny !!!! her leg over on her treadder. At least she as no crossbar to swing with. Had first real side slip this morn, and a John Kanacka

4 21:33Z 1982-05-03 Stopped watching propaganda news on BBC. 13:00Z 2012-10-01 deleted only programme watched on BBC Dr Who, unwatched and cleared from series link. Why do I have to pay TV tax for a service I do not use? Still amazed how non codswallop my life is.

3 Flicked though oggggggle box because boring MU were playing last day, and say programme on a house about a MAN CAVE. I want one and Ms Sonny says the chair is in me shed with the paraffin heater, wobbleade etc.

2 Passing through Sparrashire soon for results from pappers.

1 Walked for miles did I, but for what?

    Morning

PK - Blimy what a day you had yesterday, hope you have a less eventful day today.

Skint - Hope you get the right result from your interview and keeping fingers crossed for your DS.

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Everyone took a packed lunch with them even DD.
    2. Stocked up on wool so started the 3rd of the 5 blankets I need to make.
    3. Forgot to take anything out of the freezer for dinner so popped into Waitrose and bought a packet of their meatballs. Added to some pasta and a quick tomato sauce for dinner, in the past would have just ordered a takeaway but getting much better.Plus there was enough left over for OH lunch today, loving using the food flasks at the moment.
    4. Collected some winter shoes from BHS ordered through a deal on here so very cheap.
    5. Reading a light funny book on the kindle that didn't cost me anything as mum bought it :D

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning all!

Have been working overtime, and then catching up on all the house stuff, and yesterday i did little except play with dd4 :) Whilst the overtime isn't exactly a pleasure, at least I had the opportunity and the money will certainly be used for pleasurable purposes! Pleasures for today and yesterday:

    1. Watching dd4 discover Kinder eggs contain a surprise, her little face was so funny as she went 'ooooooooh' :)

    2. Doing okay ish at sticking to mostly using store cupboard stuff, have cooked a meat and a veg chilli for dinner this eve.

    3. Working this aft and a friend looking after dd4 for me, having great friends who are happy to help me out is a huge blessing :D

    4. Time to do some crochet last night, whilst chatting to the kids and watching Bakeoff :)

    5. My hair behaving itself this morning after I'd dried and straightened it, not so much a pleasure for me, but for those who have to look at me, Russell Brand stylee hair is not a good look on me!

Time to get a wiggle on and get to friend's house then work, have a good day all xx

  • Hello Everyone,
I haven't been on here in so long and although I was only around briefly I used to enjoy it so much so I thought I would return.

To cut a long story short, I had my second major breakdown, lost everything and had to start again. My then partner cheated, blamed me and left with me a dog and a house that I was struggling to cope with. But that was then and this is now...

    Now I have a wonderful supportive partner, a cosy home and a hopefully bright future on the horizon (and I still have the dog!). I'm still building myself up and I think what better way than to get back to MSE and start taking part again.So my five for today are;

    1. Finding some Alison's seeded bread flour for 59p at B&M. I'm attempting my first homemade loaf tomorrow.Fingers crossed!

    2. Washing out on the line and actually drying.

    3. Bangers and mash for tea tonight.

    4. Molton Brown offer on Grabbit board, meaning I got my occasional treat at a good price-still not MSE priced bubble bath but the therapist did tell me to look after myself :p

    5. Being back on my beloved MSE- it's like putting on a old pair of slippers, familiar, comfortable and homely :j

    Hello again, Missmoneysave. :-)

Here are my 5 or so for today (Weds).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Had my hair cut. Had been asked to grow it by ex-OH so took the opportunity to have it all chopped off. (Its far too thin and straight to have longer). £4.75 at the local college. Its 3 inches long now rather than about 6.

    3) Remembered to pump the tyres up and get some petrol.

    4) Went with brother to his friend's house to pick up windfalls for brother's pigs.

    5) Lunch at mum and dad's. Mum had her plaster cast off yesterday and its looking good so far.

    6) Smaller son not happy at school (3 different teachers on a Weds) but the TA coped well and taught him outside the classroom during the afternoon.

    7) Borrowed a steam cleaner from dad and smaller son and I have been steaming since I got him home from school!. So far we have steamed the oven (everywhere), the manky seal round the freezer door, the kitchen floor and my bedroom windows.

    8) Just been chatting to MrN through my bedroom window (son and I were mid-steam).

    9) Looking forward to making tea any second now. It would have been chicken korma but have some lychees so it will be chicken Kashmir. Rice and naans too.

    10) Also VERY much looking forward to watching the biopic (is that the word?) about Kenny Everett at 9pm. I found him hilarious when I was growing up; I wish they would repeat his shows.

    Good evening all !

missmoneysave - welcome back and bliddy well done you for "starting again". Never easy- glad you kept the dog though ;) x

Frith - nice post because it's Frith thinking about what Frith wants :D You go girl ! Kenny Everett - I loved "Cupid Stunt" I had no idea what spoonerism meant in those days .. all done in the best possible taste of course:rotfl:

CCP - what OU course are you taking ??

    five for today

    1. Nice chat with a relative that I am supporting re a complaint.

2.Work was ok - but even better when I booked two plus weeks leave in November. We might visit our friend in Spain .. or we may not , but need to do a VJsmum and get my passport out !

3.The Unknown Seagull has been taken by the Gull Rescue place - wrapped in a blanket like a prisoner ! He was standing on a cloche all day up the top part of our garden ,( fenced off from the killer hens ), but he still couldn't fly. OH misses him though!

4.Not hungry but need to eat as I am quite scrawny so sent OH out to get something to tempt me, as I would happily swerve tea tonight.I wonder what he will bring?? Something he likes I expect ;)

    5. Mrs Biggs on tv .. but I never manage to stay awake

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    2. The lemon/cream rug looks lovely, CCP I think you'd like the new colour scheme in the lounge, lemons and creams which make it look bright and cheerful. Hopefully it'll still have a sunshiny effect in the Winter

That sounds lovely, sparrer. I keep saying I'm going to paint my kitchen yellow - I even got some paint while it was on BOGOF - but haven't quite got round to it yet. :o

missmoneysave - welcome back, and it's lovely to read such a cheerful-sounding post when you've obviously been having a bad time.
CCP - what OU course are you taking ??

It's called Religion in History - despite the title, it's mostly about the history of Christianity, which is what I'd like to do as a masters eventually. (I know, I'm bonkers for even considering doing one!)

    1) Woke up well before my alarm this morning. Actually, I'm not sure if that's a pleasure or not, as I lost out on half an hour's sleep... :undecided

    2) Finally got the problem with my energy company sorted out, and they're going to refund the £270 of overpayment, plus £75 compensation for the hassle, by the end of the week. :j

    3) Spoke to the lovely L&kel&nd about a problem I'm having with one of their products and they gave an instant refund. It's only £3, but it's the principle of the thing. ;)

    4) Reported a leak in my flat this morning, and someone came round to look at the problem as soon as I got home from work. :T I'm not sure if he's fixed it, though - I guess I'll find out next time it rains!

    5) Turned the LO roast beef from Sunday's joint into a spicy, chilli con carne-ish stew, which will do me for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. :money:

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
