1.A rather long layin:p
2.I looked around and realised we need to do a deep clean up, we seemed to spend the day cleaning and washing things, and the house is no cleaner, appears it may take a while longer to get the place into order again, but then I may have a bit of time after Tuesday.
3.Did numerous washing loads, but had to use the tumble dryer as the weather is dire
4.I made my first bread pudding and didn’t hold out much hope, but it turned out really well, I am really chuffed and it also made the house smell wonderful.:)
5. A lovely chap came over to pick up his ferrets we have been looking after for a week and gave us a gigantic box of chocolates, he’s also interested in adopting 1 or 2 of the fosters we have here which is a lovely surprise, I hope they do decide to as they will have a great home there.
6. Dinner nice and early for us at before 6 of roast pots, veg and er ops a chicken kiev.:rotfl:0 -
Welcome Kittywight! The more the merrier!
1) Hoed and weeded the front garden and the long border. The pleasure is in the exercise and the fact that it is done.
2) Oven chips, smothered in beans and cheese, for lunch. Terrible nutrition! But it used up two part-bags of chips and it tasted good.
3) A very healthy home made soup to come later on, made from a chicken portion and wrinkly veg.
4) Got one lot of washing dry outside and the rest is on the caravan airers hanging over the landing bannister. They catch the heat rising from downstairs and are out of everyone's way.
5) Bought a cookery book for my brother. The fact that he now makes pastry and Bakewell tarts is both wonderful and astonishing. He used to be so much more interested in holidays/night clubs etc. However, it has a nice recipe for Christmas Pud, which I have pinched and will adapt to gluten-free. The pleasure is partly in being able to buy the book and partly in feeling efficient as I prepare for the festive season.0 -
Evening all.
It's been a miserable day on the south coast, so I've spent it at home without feeling guilty for being lazy.
1) NSD and NPD.
2) Bacon sarnie for brunch.
3) Watched a grand prix.
4) Made four jars of plum and ginger jam. The end result is perhaps a touch sweet for my taste - I prefer my jam to be on the tart side - but it's not a bad effort considering this is only the third batch of jam I've ever made.
5) Ordered myself some new books, paid for using vouchers for doing surveys, and got a couple of quid off for reasons I don't fully understand but am certainly not complaining about.
6) Tried on a new pair of boots and they fit, which is a relief as it would be a bit embarrassing to take them back with the admission that it's taken me four weeks to get round to trying them on.
7) After only owning my mobile phone for 3 years, I've managed to work out how to download photos on to my computer. The next stage is to set up an account with a photo publishing website so I can post them on the forum - that might take me another year or so.Purple_kitten wrote: »CCP:- I never knew you could get autumn crocus’s wow.
Mine are a variety called Waterlily, which look rather dramatic - I just hope today's storm hasn't ruined them.
The next time I post I will have a hole in my foot, so thanks very much for all your good wishes for tomorrow - I'll let you know how it goes (although not in too much detail, of course).
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
My sister, my mum and I are making 80 odd nativity costumes for my nephews school. Rather than buy all new material, we approached a local charity shop and asked them to keep all material. Of all the costumed, we only need to buy some voile for the snowflakes and some purple silky/satiny stuff for the three Kings. The school says we have saved them approximately £500I promise that I will do my best.....0

VJsmum - get well now please ! Not travellers tummy ??
Hello and welcome to all the newbies !
5 for today
1. Oh and I went into town - I spent loads , but then have loads of birthdays from now until the end of Jan. Tipping it down all day and worsening as I am typing !
2. Ate two toffee doughnuts and half a bar of chocolate
3.Hens looking scraggy from the rain , bar one who always manages to stay dry by taking herself back off to bed !Mercurial Muriel of course.
4. A jar of (good quality )curry sauce fell out of the cupboard as I was getting something out , it fell on my head, knocked some eggs off of the worktop (its ok I have loads!!) half a dozen eggs broken on my slate floor ... but the jar remained intact , must have been my head that softened the blow :rotfl:I made such a racket that OH came in and cleaned the eggs up .. very Humpty Dumpty.
5.Roast chicken for tea and in the spirit of all the other posts on this thread today ...and made apple crumble with cinnamon and currants. Got the crumble mix out of the freezer as it was some that was left over from last time I made one . The crumble mix froze really well .
6. Just did 20 miles on exercise bike to put my butt back where it should be:D
7. Off to bed with the Kindle and a bit of Downton , what more does a girl needs???
Feels like winter !
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
