I am sooooo tired. My week of galavanting caught up with me and i'm now in bed with sense and sensibility on.
1) lovely sunny day. Dd1 and dd2 home for the weekend :j which is why the front room looked like we'd had burglars
2) tidied the cereal shelf and found half a box of cereal lurking:T
3) mum back from istanbul. We went out for lunch as she's off again monday!
4) she'd bought me 2 lovely note books for my birthday and 2 pairs of earrings so feeling very spoilt:beer:
5) DS home to see DD1. dD2 gone to a party but had lunch with DS in town. So lovely to see them all becoming self-reliant adults. Oh hang on i'm paying their living costs so not quite self-reliant, but you know what i mean

Sonny - I remember that advert for toffee crisp!! Not sure it's the best ever though....
jealous of peeps who slept for a long time
Thanks all for wishes for DD - she definitely seems brighter and starts a new part time job tomorrow...
So today's
1. Cleaned kitchen, lounge, conservatory, hall. Did 3 loads of washing and stripped and remade 3 beds. Believe me it is a pleasure as the place was / is horrific
2. Yummy lunch - almost like meze but by accident
3. sunshine
4. BBQ for tea - also yummy
5. Broke 2 OS / MSE rules today - the heating went on and so did the tumble drier. Guess what - I don't care!
More cleaning / tidying planned for tomorrow.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Chickenopolis:- Sorry about the hearing.
CCP:- I never knew you could get autumn crocus’s wow.
Saturday, up early for a get together I had not been looking forward to, only because I don’t take to crowds of people, even people I know. If there is more than a couple I just don’t cope well with crowds and get togethers. It’s something I have to work very hard to try and overcome. But the people who know me also know that and it was nicer than I expected.
1. A lovely all be it tiring time, with decent weather, from the sounds of the forecast the last for a while.
2. A very late night but it’s not a school night.
3. A midnight pizza!
4. I’m sure there’s plenty more but feeling shattered so off to zzzzzzz.0 -
1. For the first time this week I didn't have to set the alarm - then woke up at 6.45am. Got lots done before breakfast including freezing the last (I think) of the herbs for this year
2. Pruned a tree overhanging and scraping on the shed roof. Stood on the brick wall at the end of the garden using the apex of the shed for support, when the neighbour with those dogs came out and said I shouldn't be doing that. Asked if he would like to help but he said he's got a bad back - which just confirms I don't need a man, well not for tree lopping anyway :rotfl:
3. Had gammon and roasted roots for dinner, discovered beetroot is to die for with cheese sauce
4. yesterday was a nsd, today was a nsd/npd
5. A change of heart re Barcelona, how fickle am I? But only one other coming now and she's of like mind, keep it simple, inexpensive, an itinerary so we can do as much as possible and like me she doesn't want to spend trhe time in a pool or sitting on beaches. So in true OS style I'm sweating over a hot lappy, every B&B etc is cheaper than the last and now we have too much choice! But happy I can go, and in good company
6. Postie brought me some L2S vouchers for doing a survey, and a free sachet of stain remover, thanks to F(nsr) board
7. At last am getting my head round my new android (sounds like a prehysteric monster) but the hand book is so tiny it's taking an age. Think I should go and get my eyes tested. Grateful for that sort of freebie
8 DS's ex, who married last year, had a baby boy this morning. She's a really lovely girl and I'm so pleased she's happy and settled
9. The sunflowers I bought two weeks ago are still going strong, what a good buy that 241 was
10. Watching Primary Colours again. It'll be a late night...
Hope you're all sleeping tight0 -

Good morning and thank you all for your welcomes! A few pleasures for yesterday:
. Breakfast in bed courtesy of DH, yogurt, berries, nuts and toasted oats, yummy!
. Outdoor bootcamp in the sun instead of the rain!
. Bootcamp should have made up for my indulgence in ice cream of previous day
. How all my friends are horrified and sympathetic when I tell them about my awful time with my Italian family, meaning it is not me being over sensitive and dramatising, as my mother and brother would lead me to believe, but that their behaviour is, in fact, unacceptable. Not a great pleasure as such, but at least I know that I have a valid reason to stay away in future.
. Catch up with a good neighbour, near enough friend
. Time at the allotment with DH planning what to do next (loads to do!)
. Dinner mostly made of veg from allotment
. Being thanked for having cooked a nice dinner by DS and DH (while in Italy my mother scorned me for saying that my family actually thank me for cooking and serving them meals instead of criticising). Feeling truly grateful about this and proud of my beloved family here!
. Watching Inspector Montalbano on TV last night - so bad, it is good! Please do not believe it to be a true portrait of Italian life, it is a (heavy-handed) caricature, but entertaining.
Have a good day all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Can I join in?
1. Hm tomato soup in my slowcookercosts around a quid and serves 4/5
2. Burning scented candles which were a gift from a lovely friendgot apple spiced potpurri burning in kitchen and christmas cupcake in livingroom
3. The storm that's coming which has made us stay inside watching kids film all daywouldve been a nsd but poor OH had to go out in the rain to get gas and leccy
4. PJ's and blankies
5. DS covered in jam, enjoying his jam on toast ... And the cat leaning in behind him to see if he can get some0 -

I absolutely agree, and find it so much simpler to just get on with things myself, regardless of copd, and vertically challenged though I may be...
At 9am this morning said neighbour sent his son round to ask if I'd like to borrow his loppers, which have longer handles than mine - the age of chivalry is dead.
Needless to say it gave me great pleasure to decline0
