Morning - couldn't post last night as I was like Sparrer, but worserer
Chicken - too funny
CCP - they should have given you a Double the Difference!
PQ - liking the idea of a fire, we always had them in our previous houses but haven't in this one. I do miss it.
PK - free carrot cake? Are you sure you want to leave?
For yesterday
1. Made it through the day after waking at 2 am and not getting back to sleep. I think I even made some sense!
2. FInally pinned someone down to find out what I am supposed to be teaching on Tuesday. I am teaching 11 - 5 and no-one would fill me in on the content  Actually think i have a reasonable programme mapped out.
3. OH cooked tea
4. DD had a really good day at school and was quite chirpy about it.
5. Slept on the sofa through Downton Abbey and then staggered to bed at 8.30. I have another pleasure to come then when I finally watch it.
One for today
1. Managed to sleep through the night so I think I am back in the land of the functioning now. And it's a day off :T
Have a good day everyone.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good morning all !
No snoring at all as OH was up all night sorting out his stuff for Tribunal - he will crash and burn later , which is a worry as I have always said he has Bi Polar ( as did one Psychiatrist) , our g.p said he doesn't want to "label him" - I said he may get the support he needs if you did !
PK- we are kindred spirits !! I hope the poorly animal is ok ??Good luck on your last day.
Mcculloch - thank you x I would love to hear how you find the Claire Balding book . I swear that she is Stephen Fry's love child though
Dundee - I did laugh re the porcine Saint :rotfl:
Have a good day all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Just in from a short dog walk! Dog stopped at every tree for a wee....it was dark and I just know there would be lots of spiders!
1. Well, of course, hurrah for Friday ! Not a mad day at work which was nice.
2. Receiving the most beautiful bouquet of flowers from 2 customers. Lilies and lisianthus. Another just because.....n
3. Wide awake at ridiculous o' clock this morning so watched Casualty online.
4. Nice phone calls with my sister and 2 friends.
5. The dog! ( though 7pm is not 4 pm!! ) he is a mad, little Boston terrier, we have always had bigger dogs, he snuffles and farts and has a 'security' tiger! But I think we will have fun this weekend!
6. A small tree dripping with cockatoos this morning, as sun is up when I leave for work now they are usually away( wherever it is they go!) so was a lovely surprise to see them.
7. A possum ( smelly things) at my eyelevel when I was just coming into our garden with the dog before! told it to stop pooping on my car.
Heading to bed now, night x0 -
Afternoon everyone!
A grey day here, but it's my day off so I'm smiling despite the weather! I'm sure that they weather brings on gloomy moods though, so I shall be making a whole lot more effort to pop in and count my blessings, listing them really makes me remember to be grateful
Anyway, today's pleasures:
1. Making time to do some things that I want to do, such as pop on here and have a quiet cuppa, the world won't end if the floors aren't mopped until later!
2. Playing with dd4, it's just fab how much pleasure she can get out of anything!
3. Having a dinner planned that will use up lots of bits in the fridge, and involves minimal effort, and dd2 texting to tell me her friends are looking forward to it, she has 3 coming home from school with her to spend the night! Once upon a time my girls used to get slightly embarrassed about my eccentric OS ways, but now they appreciate them, particularly the cooking, as do their friends! dd1's friend requested my focaccia recipe for her birthday lol, and dd2's best friend has asked if I could make some rolls and ciabatta for her birthday bbq as she loves them!
4. Remembering to chuck the mushrooms in the dehydrator before they go slimy! I love using the dried ones in risottos and pasta.
5. Making Russian winter warming vodka a la Diana Henry's new book, picking raspberries ready to make some more liqueur, and later I shall be enlisting help to bottle up the 20 litres of homemade wine! Some of this is destined for us, and much will be used as Chrimbo pressies - I like to make little hampers of drinks, chutneys, etc, and luckily everyone likes to receive them!
Just in case the cooky bits sound like blowing my own trumpet a tad too much, they aren't meant to at all, it's just I love cooking and I'm always thrilled when someone appreciates it!
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
5 for today so far while I sit almost on top of the radiator. Can't get warm!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Sons off to school OK and smaller son did not walk out of the classroom today (as far as I know).
3) Have been on a course all day. :-) Jams, pickles and vinegars. Was nice to spend 6 hours cooking without interuption without having to do any washing up at the end of it. Also brought some spare crab apples home with me so might make some more crab apple jelly next week.
4) Dad picked smaller son up from school then waited here for bigger son to come home off the bus. (Then waited for me to come back, of course!) And he survived. :-)
5) Bigger son FINALLY getting on with his history project.
6) Dad had got smaller son to do the first sheet of his homework.
7) Strange pleasure but got a copy of the report that the psych nurse has sent to my GP. It has all my various scores and it certainly explains why I feel so awful for so much of the time. :-/ At least someone is working on it with me.
8) OH back in the country. Not actually here though, it rather goes without saying.0 -

:rotfl:.....why is it my weeds always flourish so much better than my flowers
mummysaver ...your baking sounds lovely and you dont sound like you are "blowing your own trumpet" ... enjoy what you are good at and what brings enjoyment to others
For today:
1. slept well and feel so much better today. Have only managed about 10pm -2.30am last few nights but managed 11-6am this morning, must be the yoga - worn me out
2. not too sore today after 1 1/2 hours of yoga yesterday
Really enjoyed my first class and felt "loosened up" after. Most of it was gentle movements and stretches that I could manage and I didnt have to get on the floor, its all done seated on a chair and adapted to what I can manage. With only 5 in a class you get a lot of one-to-one help
3. NPD, had enough petrol to get to work and home again. Have got it down to a fine art now £10 a week
4. its friday :j This week seems to have really dragged
5. letter arrived confirming my interview Tue 2 Oct at 9.30am. Checked sick leave at work and it agrees with what I put on the form
6. Liver & onions .... nom nom0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗
Retired at 55 & now living off the equity £10k a year (until pensions start at 60 & 67).

Evening all.
Frith and mummysaver - I'm loving the sound of your cooking sessions.I'll be joining the club over the weekend, albeit it in a more minor way, by making some plum and ginger jam. :j (Note to self - must remember to buy some sugar!
)
CCP - they should have given you a Double the Difference!
That would have been nice as the difference was best part of 3 quid - sadly it's not a supermarket that offers DTD.
1) My current favourite naughty brekkie of HM toast with butter and honey. (That's toasted HM bread, obviously - RM toast would get me thrown off the OS forum, I suspect!)
2) I popped into the chemist at lunchtime to buy some painkillers ready for a minor operation on Monday (gulp), and the lady in the queue behind me insisted on standing close enough to hear every word I said to the pharmacist. I was about to tell her to back off when she piped up that she'd had the same operation and was able to tell the pharmacist what painkillers she'd had, so I could have the same ones. :T (I still think it was rude of her to eavesdrop on a confidential conversation, though. :undecided)
3) Harvested two HG courgettes, and a few overgrown French beans that I'm going to use to produce more plants for next year - very OS, and nothing to do with the fact that I forgot to take a note of the name of the variety - which has turned out to be brilliant - before throwing the seed packet away.
4) My remaining tomato plants have finally got their bottoms in gear (roots in gear?) and produced some fruit - now I just need enough nice weather for the tomatoes to get big enough to harvest. (I don't mind about ripening - I can do that indoors if necessary - they just need to reach a decent size first!)
5) Two episodes of Wartime Farm to catch up on tonight, as I've got a bit behind.
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. No petrol day
2. Bought a couple of presents for DD's forthcoming friend's parties
3. Enjoying a nice glass of wine whilst watching Paddington with DD (sadly a new version not the 1970s one I grew up with......I've shown her the original on YTube but she wasn't interested *sob*)
4. Have been offered a fab lookiing hob and double oven for our new kitchen when we get it done, hoorah!
5. Hopefully got a second school placement organised0 -
Chickenopolis:- The little chap has an adrenal cancer and has been treated which may hopefully keep the gland under control for a few years, the problem is a risk, the treatment has a flair for the next weeks he will be a lot worse, so we have everything crossed. Hope your OH’s tribunal goes ok, that came up quick (I don’t know how it all works)
Whoo hoo Friday.
Not a great day ahead tomorrow, but at the end of the day will be a take away and some much needed sleep.
1. Received an interview request for Tuesday, my last day, I am going to go along as it’s in the lunch break so I guess it’s the equivalent of being paid for it.
2. A couple of lovely free books one about a wolf and one is something secret gardenish or alikes, I am going to take a few of my spare ones in with me on Monday to exchange.
3. Things from the freezer cooking through in the oven at the moment, thai fish cake things, well it’s clearing space and dirt cheap.
4. I had a considerable “go” I think I may have lost the plot a little, at EDF after I got the accounts up to date at last, and then got demand through for a new lots of charges, I received a letter today saying they had credited 500! And it was one of those I daren’t open it letters!0 -
Couple of wobbleades yest day. Cheers:beer:
5 Doing this on ayePad, thinking of especially DD, and wallop, Mariners one up.
4 canna beat that, but back to ayePad. It is like skating rink sometimes, one slip and the page hurtles everywhere.
3 New tyres on SonnyTruck this day. Feels hot rod again, so burning rubber gals.
2 Ms Sonny is off showing her pictures again. Lucky gal and she has a special piece of chocolate to keep her happy.
