Frith - as sparrer sings the Gloriana of Weight Loss so impressively, do you wish for you and I to re-embark on similar? Further - re:'Don't know what to do about OH[again]....Frith, YOU don't have to do anything....other than check out GSM...?

I would definitely take you up on that offer, Ampersand. When shall we start? :D

    LOL at GSM!

Well, new diagnosis (in my mind as am not long back from psych) is..... generalised anxiety disorder. Don't like the "generalised" bit, makes it sound general and not too bad! It means generalised as in being anxious about everything rather than a specific phobia.

    http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Anxiety/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Anyway. Not got 5 yet, its too soon in the day!
  • Good afternoon !

Sparrer - Audrey the A**i - Never thought of name but I like it so I may pinch it !:)

Frith - Do you feel you have GAD ??Whilst we are on abbreviations what is GSM??

Mhagster :T C.Tax rebate Dundee :(re your 10% "debt".

    5 for today

    1. Completed a lot at work, still feeling a bit vulnerable in respect of getting in to the swing of things.

    2. Technically almost a half day as had Occ. Health appointment this afternoon in another locality . As a quirk of fate the Occ Health advisor was behind me yesterday on the stairs when we were responding to the fire alarm. She said she recognised me as I was struggling to get down the stairs and I had said " I don't do FAST so go PAST please!!" and remembered me , I did not recognise her though .She has made some recommendations one including the fire evacuation process down the stairs , where I will have to be carried in an Evac. chair!!! Her report will be sent to the Head of my Unit ... watch this space :) Could be fisticuffs at dawn !

3.OH took me in the OGV (Audrey) to the appointment and bought me four huge cheese straws for lunch , which I the lot ate on top of my own packed lunch:o but Yum !!

4.Got an interview invite for the job I applied for... not sure I can cope as she said the "T" word was included .. a Test !!!I hate tests my mind freezes and I think about ponies instead of what I am supposed to :o Need to sleep on it as I have agreed to cover my managers job next week and not sure I can get half day off .

5.Not hungry as scoffed lots so no need to worry about tea as I am cream crackered and plan on having a nice early night :D .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Evening all.

    1) My last day off before going back to work tomorrow. :(

    2) Sent off a complaint to my energy company - having to make a complaint isn't a pleasure, of course, but at least it's done and sent off to them.

    3) Ordered the set books for my next OU course, and stacked up several discount codes and loyalty cards so I got the equivalent of 25% off. :money:

    4) Received some free samples of instant coffee that I'd forgotten I'd sent off for. :money:

    5) I've currently got a big batch of sort-of minestrone soup bubbling away in the kitchen, for dinner tonight and for lunches at work for the rest of the week.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    모든 저녁

So I am back and trying to stay up for a little longer before going to bed so that I wake at a decent time tomorrow.

Thanks for all your good wishes and putting up with my ramblings. Travelling is exciting but a little lonely and this place is lovely company.

    5 for today

    1. slept the night through after getting in at 11.30 and pretty much passing out. OH seems to have kindly got my jet lag for me as he was up half the night.:p
    2. DD went off to school with no tears. At the moment we are taking her in order to ease the burden a bit but it took me over an hour to do a half hours drive so it can't continue.
    3. Work was fun and i had celebrity status for a short time.
    4. Phone call to dad - all is well
    5. OH had organised tea - which was at least quick but bought cheese sauce for pasta (or bought any sauce for pasta) is not really my thing. I wasn't going to tell him it was minging but he said it first. At least he won't do that again.

Hopefully we will have a few weeks of what passes for normal - as long as we can keep DD going. She is auditioning for the school production next week so fingers crossed she gets a part. Back to Seoul in November!

Chicken - oh yes. The more I read about it and the further the psych gets, the more I wonder why I hadn't considered it before!

Here are my 5 or so for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep and certainly about 5 hours more than the 2 nights before.

    2) Texts from OH.

    3) Smaller son had a day off school because he was terribly ill. Then he was suddenly less ill (but he does have a hacking cough).

    4) Saw the psych and that was interesting.

    5) Got a few jobs done for my sister.

    6) Sister popped in.

    7) Mended 2 punctures in bigger son's bike tyre so now I am cool again.

    8) Daft phone call with my dad where he tried to teach me how to do long division (over the phone!!) and I tried to teach it to bigger son. We failed. Had to put a note in his homework book that he can't do it, and I couldn't help. :-/

    9) Tasty tea.

    10) Smaller son had his hair cut and looks smart now.

    11) OH is going to talk to me on FB later. He is now in Spain.

    12) Sold a jacket on Ebay for £17. Was £5 from a charity shop about 2 years ago. :-)

Lovely hot water bottle is waiting and I can't wait to join it, it's so SO cold.

    1. Must have been picking raspberries when opticians left msg that new lunettes were ready. Drove into town, car still untaxed:eek:[should be right by Saturday, if logbook comes]and have them now. I am so lucky with these good people - Spectacular Opticians, highest recommendation possible.
    2. Saw at least half a dozen hares in wheat stubble, playing at some intricate leaping and crouching hidey game ensemble. What a treat!
    3. Chatted with neighbour over la fuite d'hier de ses poules. He said they were in sulks now and probably wouldn't lay today, in protest...and so it has proved.
    4. Long catch-up chat chez L.[both of us hating it being SOOO freezing] in next village en route back. We'll have our Groupon lunch next Tuesday and see THAT tree in CUBG. We've decided we want treats, presents to selves quite often, warm climes, nice times, loads of Sod It do-nothing days[which seem to be happening all by themselves atm]...you get the drift. Happy agreement on all points.
    5. Leaving village, but still within long built-up street, a large muntjac crossed right in front of me. I stopped car, ran back with camera. He paused between fence and house, then popped behind a potting shed just as my camera lens protruded...too late. In fact, I now think he was a roe deer - pelt was darker, quite coarse and dark-spotted, in contrast with muntjac I've known, more gingery, solid colour, altogether smaller.
    6. Haven't visited freecycle in ages, but did so this morning and am thrilled to learn I have the offered Rocking Chair! Sat a.m. is a perfect suggested time for me as I'm out buyng beloved Grauniad.
    7. An awaited envelope came - important. I'll arrange what it permits tomorrow, hopefully for Friday. This one's a long haul.
    8. Friend recommends Bletchley programme on the box, so will now try and find it on 'putah.

Will I make a snuggly warm drink?...not sure. I'd lost weight in France, Frith, via hard work, long hours brocanting, canicule, melons/un peu du pain/beaucoup d'eau/tomates/un peu du sel...I needed/wanted nothing more for weeks. But the cold weather back here demands more fuel[28C down South today].

So yes Frith, let's start - official weigh-in I'll do at Surgery demain[my ancient scales are barely a guide]and take any timetable from your next post.
Wishing us both well[with croissants and pains au chocolat still awaiting consommation]:o - which gives you immediate advantage!
Also, f!licitations on excellent ebay result!
...and I'll do sons' long division[any maths]all day long and give them the keys for mastery of same, should we ever meet. It's a lovely 'language' for them to acquire and well-suited to them both I somehow, and strongly, intuit. Don't ask me why.

Kittikins yes she is, I'm blessed with her and her DD , who has adopted me as her granny as she doesn't have one, on one side and a family the other side who are never interfering but always just there. So are their dogs but they've kept them well away since 'the incident'. Love hearing about your DD and the fun you have together, she sounds an absolute joy :)
Frith/ampersand I can highly recommend Weight Loss the Old Style Way forum, no gimmicks, fancy diets etc, just masses of support from lots of lovely like-minded people
Chicken it's catchy isn't it? Even DGD says 'wow did you see that Audrey Grandma?'. Love your #2, just hope the chair carriers are hunky ;)
PK good luck with the job hunting

    1. The gym has a remote swipe card system which has never worked for me, I flash the card, hold it still, flap it about, but just can't make the master unit peep. This morning it peeped first time and I got a round of applause. Little things...:o
    2. Picked 6 more runners and 3 tomatoes. Small progress but still, it's free food
    3. The geraniums just keep blooming, and growing. Some are about 18" tall and look so pretty against the pale blue garden shed and fence
    4. Not at all OS but I turned the heating on low for a couple of hours this evening, it was lovely to be warm
    5. Regardless of the cold I got a line of washing dry as it was so windy today

    Sleep tight :)
