5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

There are bits of today I haven't enjoyed at all...
Could have done with TILAMS about earlier. Got a phone call from school. New teacher is finding smaller son unteachable as well. They are calling in all the experts (again). I have to go to a meeting to discuss what sort of high school he might go to. I just can't imagine a child this bright (albeit unable to write) settling in a special school.
I mean, I don't know much about special schools (except my brother used to pop in to one for speech therapy) but my friends son goes to one for his autism and academically they are taught almost nothing. Life skills, cooking and using money - all things smaller son is picking up OK by himself. I'm sure it'll be smashing for his social skills but....
Anyway, 5 for today.
1) Mum and dad invited me to Slimbridge! So enjoyed looking round the birds there. Mum still in a wheelchair from her foot operation - well laid out for people with bad feet.
2) I drove as my car is more spacious than dad's. Dad never lets anyone drive him, I felt like he was giving me a driving lesson!
3) Lovely, sunny weather (going cold now).
Blimey, only 3 for today. :-(
Don't know what to do about OH. (again). I feel sad that I have had the phone call about smaller son and there is no one I can share it with (apart from family). I just don't think he would be very interested. I've not heard from him today.
Worked out he has been here three times since July. One of those times he walked out on us.0 -
Mhags - I can't even begin to imagine how awful all this must be, and Frith - there is no such thing as unteachable, it is finding the right teacher that is the problem.
CCP - glad Birmingham went well, sorry about the naff timing meaning we couldn't have a coffee.
I am in Munich so nearly home!Haven't done a lot today but I'll see what I can come up with.
1. Nice chat with the taxi driver who took me to the airport - until he told me that his friends think he is a heavy drinker
2. Managed to pick up some chocolate as pressies. Just couldn't buy anything yesterday, it would have got ruined in the rain. (ironically today was warm and sunny!)
3. Having been awake since 4 o'clock this morning (8.30 uk time) and not getting home till about 11.30 tonight I am thankful that I was able to get some sleep on the plane.
4. Free wine at the airport! Makes a 4 hour layover more bearable
5. Home later :T
oh and
6. DDs new singing teacher told her that she was good and is a soprano, which has pleased her.
Not bad for a day with no activity! Back to work tomorrow.:(I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
The trouble with teachers is that they want an easy ride and instead of seeing him as a challenge and working out how and what he responds well to, they just write them off because that way it makes for an easier life!!
Anyhoo my five for today excluding the fire alarm at work where we all had to stand outside in the freaking car park while the wind whipped round our espidrilles!! It was blinking cold I swear the bosses do it deliberately
1. Was able to pop into town at lunchtime and pick up some bits and bobs. Hardly go in nowadays but needed doggie chews etc and enjoyed having a quick whizz round.
2. Picked up some cakes from Greggs at lunchtime as a treat for us after dinner tonight, gratefully received by DH.
3. Had some big cuddles with the dogs who were pleased to see me when I got home.
4. A nice walk over the field with the spaniel in between the rain showers.
5. Washing on in the machine tonight ready to be pegged out on the line tomorrow as forecast to be a nice day. Looking forward to my bed tonight as it has the flannelettes back on.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Mhags and Frith -
The mills are grinding for you both and you must be assured that we ALL, without any doubt, arrow thoughts of better times, safe harbours towards you both at some point throughout every single day. This harnessing of the power of many individuals' positive thinking unites as a specific force for good, for you.
Frith - as sparrer sings the Gloriana of Weight Loss so impressively, do you wish for you and I to re-embark on similar? Further - re:'Don't know what to do about OH[again]....Frith, YOU don't have to do anything....other than check out GSM...?
1. Enjoyed early R4X of Mr Finchley, great stories written by Victor Canning, discovered in my teens and consumed obsessively until the canon was exhausted, ditto CP Snow and so many others. Those child>teen reader/performer years of classics and allcomers, set rich and lasting appetites, dormant though they may remain through decades.
2. Excellent Montalbano last night, minor nano-seconds dozing didn't interfere with plot, so no backtrack needed. Another tonight, v. soon - I'll be running out.
3. Sat in town gardens with Thermos and lapsang[ yes, yes - it's still 26C minimum In Other Places and 11C here] and finished Rosie Boycott's 'The Farm'. Excellent and not meriting several sniffy reviews. Instead I'll be looking to see what effect Tesco has had on Ilminster town and shops in the 5 years since. Took out 'The Good Thief's Guide to Paris' and nearly missed stop on way back - right up my street.
4.......and right up my street were T's girls! Couldn't believe it - they were rounding the far corner, pecking at hedge as they went. I rushed in, dropping everything and knocked on door. Told T, who is needing stick to move today[has pretty bad days quite often, I suspect] and went quickly to grab a gold gauze counterpane I've used at fairs. Les poules had moved on, crossed road and luckily backed themselves up a driveway sans sortie. With T on one side, moi on other, we cloaked girls in golden loveliness and it worked. T had one, other escaped into neighbouring roses, where I picked her up. They've flown over the fence, so it's time for a little clipping. Given the hour of day, around 1830h, it's lucky they weren't roadkill, notwithstanding that we are village-y, country-ish and this road is a slow-travelling one-way rural monocle.
5. Raspberries are really fattening with judicious watering.
6. Posted off further pics and note to A&G, now back in Stuttgart, before another opera tour. Hopefully, G won't fall over any more, as is his wont when he gets carried away singing/conducting/playing Mozart in his head - known for it in the village in France. Most recent was a broken arm/elbow, when he was conducting with a baguette to music in his head, while queuing at La Poste and over-balancing. It also happens in the street. They're in their 70's now, but don't look it.
7. Rang about a[sans doute v.v.v. basic] 10-week silversmithing course which starts on my birthday next year. I'll have to save even for the Ancient Crone reduced fee, but would like to try. Means I won't be in France until Spring, but will stick with it once I start - won't be able to afford not to.
Bonne nuit - I think it's just the cold contrast making me retire early since returning. Better go and turn hose off:-) Water butts are nearly empty.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
