5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Without preamble -
1. Grass is cut and composted, with associated start on SOME weedy sorting and manoeuvring of garden pots, seats, overspill etceteras..
2. Returned to messy blighty tomatoes which seemed to have died off then re-grown in my absence. I'm hearing of blight and disappointing crops from others, so maybe it wasn't just me. I've blitzed away all blighty fruits, re-tied tottering, towering stalks and have now watered the lot: re-growing healthy green toms, courgettes[picked one massive torpedo]and the peppers, laden, if still small. Raspberries are returning to form with watering[picked a rather wine-y, long-hanging lot in the week and resultant jam is somehow chewy, but yum.]
3. Have managed to print out NZ and France pics and sent them.
4. Allowed self small spend at place which trains disabled young gardeners as, for once, I'm back in time to buy indoor hyacinths, including the apricot and lemon ones, which I love. Also bought 3 pots of chamomile, reduced to 50p each as I am determined to get it bedded in somewhere.
5. Saw a Groupon 2-course Lunch for 2:£11 at Carrington's in Cambridge, so did it, rang friend to say I was back and proposed treat...on her birthday, it transpired[Thursday], so apt. We'll go in the coming week, maybe tie in visit to see.....
6, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-19597233
7. Used 3 wombled red onions earlier. There are several good veggie roundabouts nearish and laden tractor left pleasing trail when I was en route to MOT the other day.
8. Still ecstatic, glorying in Andy Murray's US Open win...at last, at last! and today's R4 Profile is a good further listen.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/b01mn4v0
9. Enjoying Rosie Boycott's 'The Farm'.
10. Mr T replacement Clubcard Plus !!!!-up means apology, £15 moneycard and 500 points, all unsoliciited - most welcome. 2600 miles of petrol was much cheaper in France.
My usual 10-ish five and random still.
Nevvymind.
Can hardly believe it - I've just heard a whinging woman griping disappointment with Aunty Beeb's coverage of the Olympics. The call prior to hers echoed my own feeling - completely loved every moment and thought it all splendid, much to my cynic's astonishment. Further, cannot cite the[at short notice] funeral I attended on Friday as a pleasure, but the lady vicar later related being at the Paralympics when George Osborne was boo-ed. 'It was fantastic and funny and wonderful', said she:-)

He goes on 17 October for 12 days with college. They are going to be doing some teaching and support work in african township school, then camping, horse riding, kayaking, trekking and river rafting. Exploration of some key sights and events in Boer war and zulu wars, visits to Ladysmith and Rourkes Drift. Also visit to Lion reserve and game park by horse, and 2 nights in Durban including visit to water park.
Am sooo jealous, but cant afford for us both to go. I've been saving for 2 years for his 18th birthday next year, plus his xmas and birthday money this year, plus we have raised some sponsorship, bursary help and my mum and dad. He had the choice of waiting until he was 18 and having the money for driving lessons/towards car, or going on the holiday of a lifetime, so he chose to go on trip.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

1. Fabulous day yesterday, helped out at a village event and saw lots of chums
2. DD had a brilliant time as well, doing lots of sports and is now on the waiting list for another (paying) club....but I think it'll be worth it as and when she gets in!
3. We won a competition to win a year's membership of our village twinning association with a town in la belle France.
4. DD had her first ever game of boules and loved it, I'm hoping my parents still have their set so we can play when we go up there
5. Met chums at one of the village pubs to start celebrating one of my best friends' 40th birthday, sunshine, lovely people and people bought us drinks.
6. Evening party was great - happy people, yummy food, slurpy beverages (but not too many, I'm not suffering from alcohol this morning, just tiredness as we were singing and dancing til 2 this morning.....
7. Today has been a NSD
8. Lots of cuddles with DD
9. Yummy scrummy beans on toast for dinner
10. Ampersand is back amongst us0 -
Well, 5 or so pleasures for today.
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Cleaned house - loads of washing, changed my bed etc ready for the first visit of OH for nearly a month.
3) "Fun Day" for children at the village hall. Sons loved it. :-) Face painting, cake stalls, bouncy castle etc.
4) Went to the local forest for a quick walk.
5) Made a tea OH had commented on favourably some time ago (chicken and lentils) plus a loaf of homemade bread.
6) Sons spent a lot of the day at next door's.
Now for the strange news. OH said he was coming round at 3pm. We had talked about how I get obsessed with times/what is happening when/being organised. 3pm came and went. Then I got a text that he was just leaving (1.5 hour drive). No explanation as to why. So that peeved me. I hadn't seen him for a week in this 9 weeks where I will hardly be seeing him at all.
Eventually he appeared. Fairly terse. Boys asked us to have a gun fight with them - OH didn't move. Then he fell asleep. I started to make the tea, stirred it too vigorously and it spattered up and scalded my wrist. OH then said "do you want me to go?" As he had barely said a sentence to me I said "Do you want to be here?" He said he had driven here, hadn't he. :-(
Then he asked again if I wanted him here and I said "I don't know". Because I don't know. This isn't a relationship at all. It is just meeting up with someone a few hours a week who doesn't seem particularly bothered with me, is almost completely disinterested in my sons, and who always falls asleep.
My friends would have texted BEFORE they were late. They might have come bearing maltesers or pudding or something. They would go out to play with my sons. They would talk non-stop to me and I would never have to doubt they were happy to be here.
After I said "I don't know", he picked up his car keys and drove off. No word from him. His facebook relationship status has changed from in a relationship.
Don't know what to do and not sure I care enough to do anything.0 -

TILAMS back is good then I can plot future mischiefs
. And a free lunch too, things are looking up for the old bird!
DD love the logic of your #2
Kittikins congrats on your win, hope it will bring you and DD the occasional lovely trip across the channel, and new friends for you both
Skint imho your DS made a good choice, he can learn to drive almost anytime but a trip like that doesn't come along every day
ampersand, re your #7. I live in a rural area and often follow farm vehicles but never thought to look out for their 'windfalls', what a good idea!
(((Frith))) don't know what to say to you, just know we're thinking of you and wishing you the best of whatever decision you make
1. First time for ages I didn't have to set the alarm, then the dog woke me at 7am. It was a beautiful morning but soon changed so I have to be gtrateful I saw it. Thanks, muttley
2. There was a water go-slow this morning in the immediate neighbourhood, but I knew nothing about it and my shower was working fine. When I did find out I tried the kitchen tap and only got a trickle, very odd , and very lucky!
3. Good lunchtime meeting with friends, someone brought a tin of rather luxurious choccy bikkies, which was empty by the time we left, of course
4. Went to Mr A this afternoon and got a carrier full of fruit for just over £6 which should last us (the dog and me) about a week. We often share a pear or an apple, and occasionally melon which is his favourite
5. Dinner of a chicken wing and a pan of roasted roots followed by some blueberries in ff yogurt. All cheap and good

Just switching off after watching wonderful Montalbano[discovered books about 6 months ago in library, then saw it is on FR3 in France, la belle], but didn't want to read Frith and run.
Dear lass, we're with you as we always are -
I have to say I find this:
' It is just meeting up with someone a few hours a week who doesn't seem particularly bothered with me, is almost completely disinterested in my sons, and who always falls asleep a not particularly entrancing summation of a relationship.
I wish these things didn't happen over weekends for you and the boys.
I see there are 3 other Montalbano episodes on i-player. Put one on while I go out and put that virtual kettle on again. What did you want?...and I have a big bag of naughty choc. marshmallow teddies from France.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
