    Evening all

Absolutely soaked to the skin. But I think the typhoon has bu88ered off elsewhere.:T

Frith - Oh dear - what to say?
Sparrer - maybe shower comes from tank and kitchen from mains? It's mainly older houses that are like this.
Chicken - love the sound of your chickens - not your Dickens! :p I feel I'm letting the side down, me being a Maid of Kent and all.

    So today

    1. Woke naturally at 8 :T but not on a schedule today so could have a lazy hour or so including breakfast
    2. As I said, absolutely chucking it down all day - no point even trying to avoid it as I am home tomorrow (I hope!) so just suffered it. Even the umbrella wasn't keeping it all out at one point. THe pleasure? Sloshing through puddles and not caring!
    3. Sightseeing - Gyeonbukgong Palace, Streets of traditional houses, markets, art galleries, parks. Packed a lot in to one day.
    4. Chuckling at the inscription in Tapgol park - which is all about independence from oppression (after 10 years of Japanese occupation - they aren't very keen on the Japanese, I think, not that I blame them), however the declaration of independance says something like "we won't accuse Japan of its violations and treating us like barbarians and we shall not blame them for the horrible things they have done.." and then listed the horrible things they had done. I know it's serious but it made me laugh, it is like saying "I won't tell all these people listening that you..."
    5. A warm bath - I was freezing.

Have a good afternoon / evening all. See you when I'm back tomorrow (with a bit of luck!!)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

  • Good evening all !

Tealady - - thank you re the application. You are so amazingly tenacious with your bargains , as is PK with her 10p finds!

skint - thanks , work was tiring and tiresome today. I fear that they are trying to screw me over , but they are sooo clueless around "reasonable adjustments " as they think it fits with what is the easiest option for them . Thank goodness I used to work for some Disability Equality Advisors ..

VJsmum- Look out typhoon VJ is heading this way !!!Safe journey home with no wet patches on the Easy Jet upholstery please :D No love lost between the Japanese and the Koreans then ;)

    5 for today

    1. Made it through the day , it was nice to see my colleagues though :)

    2. A new team member started today and she used to be my line manager about 12 years ago! . She is great and will be an asset to the team..Not that I "coached" her before her interview or anything :o

3.It was nice to drive the OGV as I haven't driven it for 5 weeks .

    4. My Mum had filled lots of charity bags ... with my stuff !! Cheeky mare, my Maya Angelou , Bill Bryson , Enid Blyton and Charles Dickens books !They are now back in my house ! I loved the "Oh yes your name is inside the front cover " Bless her.

5.Marrow from the garden in cheese sauce and scampi for tea. Odd mixture but quite nice !

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Bumbling day.

    3 for 2 day.

3 Not much ado today, just done kids from street photo. Blooooooody pc had corrupt driver.

2 Popped out to local project, same old faces, same old graces. Good to see the good work being done.

1 Nora, King of the Foe's. Good to see the woodworking workshop up and running for he kids that do not want to do 45 Crap levels and A levels. The things they make cure the eyes water. Such a shame (Standard TILAMS warning re academia) our schools do not even bother to accommodate these kids, but rid them from the books for tick boxes of A Levels, an exam for those who are incapable if getting a job at the age of 16.

    Few, need wobble adds now
I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

    1. Typing these pleasures on our lovely new laptop :):):)

    2. The friendly helpful staff at Waitro$e where I picked up the lappy, made me very glad I'd chosen JLewis rather than a PC global type place to make my purchase

    3. Bumped into a school run mum and had a natter

    4. Sunshine

    5. My car was safe in the village car park despite me dumping it there 2 days ago

    6. Fabulous conversation with boss - so pleased for him as he has a secondment position for a few months, and then will either get another permanent role or will still be eligible for redundancy package, buys him some time

    7. Made appointment to meet DD's headmaster tomorrow morning to hopefully arrange some school experience with him. Wish me luck!

    8. Chum was very surprised and pleased with gorgeous bunch of flowers we gave her to thank her for DD's impromptu sleepover on Saturday

    9. Another friend dropped over a fabulous outfit for DD's dressing up day at school tomorrow, phew, saved me a lot of time and effort!

    10. DD set up the laptop perfectly and then used it to do some research on Romans (and a little bit of Mo$hi Monster$, lol)

    11. Stationery bargains in MrT's on the way to work, couldn't resist...

    12. Good library books, am toying with having an early night and a good read as I'm still pretty tired from the weekend and have a busy week ahead of me.

    Bonsoir -

    1. Picked some decent biggie[watered]raspberries first thing.
    2. Woke up to H.E. Bates' 'A Little of What You Fancy' on R4X which was late for me, but enjoyable. I'll keep listening.
    3. A bit of specific watering pre-bus turned into quick car washing[activity unknown pour moi], so 2 jobs done and I didn't get mucky.
    4. Sorted more photo printing and sent it from Cambridge. There's a particularly friendly, 'extra mile' little PO not quite in town centre, with a New Zealand kowhai tree outside, growing in a small raised square of garden. It's magnificent, but the staff remembered me [also nice] and said I'd missed it blooming this year. Bought excellent Castell pencils @ 10p each, and Uhu superglue and Solvite @ 49p, which is massively cheap. They always have some excellent quality bargains.
    5. Spotted a good engraved fork in Charity Shop with a meaningful initial.

Not my usual sort of extended 5 tonight, but enough. I'm cold, can't bear seeing 28C+ down in my other beloved places and am going to bed to warm up, read, drink lapsang souchong - may watch another Montalbano but feel tired, dkw.

Thankyou for further kind Welcomes Back.

Found self thinking on and off through much of day of mhagster and Frith - wishing you both strength, remedy, happiness, in your differing trials.
Life is good and precious for all that clouds it at times: clouds pass, thin, clear and none of US are going away.

sparrer - I've wanted to comment on your marvellous weight loss. I declare you 'Official Inspiration':-)

kittkins - we'd be dreadful together if we came across stationery goodies in each other's company.

Sorry now to heavy the tone somewhat, but this new article from the ever-superb Polly Toynbee comes straight from my heart, straight from my head and it has astonished me to hear myself say so in discussion over the last year or two. I never thought I'd live to do so and to know its grim Truth:
