Hurrah for Friday....my favourite day of the week!
    For the past few days:

Hospital schmospitals.....have seen enough this week, OH got on okay, considering with post surgery appointments. But had blood tests results back which aren't very good and GP phoned earlier to say he should be back in hopspital....OH is refusing at the moment but will see another specialist next week and we will see what he says.
thank you for all your good wishes, it has been quite a stressy week, I do worry about what lies ahead of us.

A customer brought me a beautiful bunch of tulips, just because.....it was very kind and made me cry , but happy tears unfortunately I am the most unattractive crier!

Posted great nieces birthday gift this afternoon ... A bloomin' fortune, I was shocked at the price , however everything was bought in the sales so I'm glad I hadn't paid full price as well! The kind lady in post office, they are always very friendly, gave me at the reduced rate even though it was a quarter of an ounce over the weight level.

DD2 and I went into library and she read newspaper and I flicked through some doody magazines....all for free.

My very talented DD2 had her opening night of school production last night, she was so nervous beforehand, phoned me in tears half an hour before....I (absolutely no actress) assured her it was just first night nerves. DD2 and I walked there and had a very entertaining night.....only 5 more shows to go!
She was quite amazing! The youngest performer in the play.

Hearing blackbirds singing , reminds me of home. A very Spring sound. I wish you could all see the beautiful flowers, trees , shrubs and bushes that are in bloom. The smells as you walk past are lovely. The colours stunning.

I think that's me, been a busy working week and glad to be finished this afternoon for the weekend. However, I do appreciate my work and I'm glad I have it and it's ' normality' in my day.

    Have a lovely day x

Ps, hugs to poorly posters, poorly parents and upset children .

Enjoy all your autumnal food as we now head towards salads again!
  • Well dun Son of Frith!

5 I have lost one of my sheep. Went to beds early last nites, cos of leads, wire, cameras and things, got up this rainy morn and found one of my sheep is missing. Laid there, keeled over, decapped and gone. Now only Ms Sonny was around last nite and I thinks she has gotten to it.

4 I Did, I taw a puudy tat. Still thinks Tom and Jerry are far superior. This is where I learned all my techniques gals. and Killer Eyebrows as well, soft music and ... Solid Serenade

3 FreeDay FryDi. Anything goes, including my ..

2 Got to be quick now with wheelies, seems the upstart is progressing nicely on the hillocks round the parish.

1 Your posting is important, to others it is just a complete load of tosh.

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Had a voucher using day so got 2 bottles of coke free and 2 packs of bread mix for 9p each. I like this kind of spenidng. Also got OH 4 bottles of sparkling water for a £1. I know he can get free water from the tap but know if I dont put one of these in his lunch bag he will go and buy one drink for more than a £1 so money saving in the end.
    2. Have made the decision to buy DD a laptop for her birthday. This is much more than we would normally spend but will help her with college stuff as also going to get dragon software. Have found a perfect one for her which is within the price range willing to spend.
    3. Quick dinner of pasta and meatballs followed by HM lemon cake
    4. Invite from SIL for brothers suprise 50th birthday party just need to work out logistics of getting there and back in time for work on Monday as they live in the North East.
    5. Thanks to CCP for reminding me, I have ordered a free toothbrush:money:

Hugs to all who need them

    1. Spending the morning in the kitchen with produce from my and neighbours hg fruits. Making plum duffs, top fruit & pear crumbles, apple pies and individual fruit tarts with anything left over. Tomorrow it's the veg's turn, I do like Autumn if only for the harvest
    2. Giving a talk this evening so as always I have three scripts - one in my head, one on paper and the one I'll say when I get there..
    3. Have a lift this evening hence nsd/npd
    4. Small investment has matured and done reasonably well so part will go toward a funeral, in OS style it makes sense to buy one earlier rather than later when the price has gone up (and I plan to be around a looooooong time yet), and makes things so much easier for the family. On a brighter note the bonus will help pay for my holiday to Barcelona next month
    5. The sun is shining, time to pick/pull some veggies ready for tomorrow

Have a sunny day whatever the weather
  • Good idea Tealady. I used Dragon years ago and once you get it trained, it's a real help.

    1) A rose on the table. It may be the last one of the year from the garden but it is absolutely beautiful.
    2) Mended a top by darning with some of my lovely vintage thread. Also swapped the buttons on a blouse as there was one missing and rewired a bra with a spare wire I had kicking around in the sewing basket. I do like being OS.
    3) A gift of two tops from a friend who is clearing out. I gave her the chainsaw safety equipment back and two plastic covers for her mini greenhouse.
    4) Got the first week's work in for OU this morning. Don't tell anyone about the snooze in the middle ...
    5) DS is going out for a drink with some mates this evening.
  • Good evening all!

mhagster - ((hugs)) sorry to hear that your DH's blood tests were not so good :(

Sonny - glad to hear that Jenny is OK xx

PQ - glad to hear that your DS is going out after his break up trauma x

VJsmum - glad to hear that your DD is starting to settle in at college. Is Korea humid like Honk Kong and Thailand ???

    5 for yesterday
    1. My g.p called me and said that the tumour has not grown back in my spinal cord, my discs are ok and that he thought the MRI report that he requested was "rather a boring read" considering my history :o. He said he would send the report to me and that the back pain is soft tissue damage .Thankfully !

    2. Mum relieved re the above and has stopped picking her fingernails off .

    3. Scoured Mr. S online to check out bargains then OH went out with a £4 off of a £20 shop.He spend £22 so "qualified" not bad for him.

    4. Wartime Farm - I love old farm machinery .Sad but true . Did not like the woman on it, Ruth (Nepotism or what her father was on it last week and daughter this week!!!) plucking a Light Sussex hen - I have one just like it .. with a pulse though of course ;)

    5. Have to see Occ. Health next week re my back .

    5 for today

    1. Haircut - from Dulux dog to choppy bob :)

    2. Banked some change to some will go towards our Xmas meal and £10 of 50p's to my brother's 50th fund (Now £250 since Jan. 2010).

    3. Met my colleagues in town as one of my team members is going on Maternity leave today . She didn't think I was going and was really pleased to see me before she left.I shall miss her.

4 . Received my MRI report in the post my g.p had handwritten a little note on it with a smiley face which made me laugh. But I was not aware that I have some haemangiomata "scattered" in my spine. These are blood vessels that are tumours and are apparently common in 10 % of people especially women aged 30 -50years .Nice.Occ. Health can have that report next week.

5.Got print out from cash machine and have a bit more than I thought in one account. Good- as I am thinking of taking a 6 month career break unless my hours can be reduced or I am redeployed ..... Scary but necessary I feel.

    Have a great weekend all!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Hugs McHags.

It’s Friday it’s Friday it’s Friday waahoo, well while I can. DH and I have moved our plans for tonight for a quiet night in as we are both just shattered.

Hope everyone has good weekends ahead:)

1.I had a meeting late this afternoon to confirm my end date is in 7 days, while I am scared, I am also so happy to be out of that particular place.

2.I was on Amazon last night and marked a book which is the last in a trilogy of 2 I read which I picked up for 20p at the steam fair I was at, only to realise when I snaffled the stock, i.e. they packed up and left site and left stock they didn’t want behind so I had a trolley full of books, found it in there, so I’m a happy bunny, saved £7 that I was going to spend out.

    3. Lunch was a very strange tasting sandwich :rotfl:, but for 14p I can’t complain overlooking the river

    4. I got back by 5 – unheard of changed into joggers and a sweat shirt and flopped down.

    5. Just had a cheesy bowl of pasta with bacon, suppose it may class as carbonara – loosely...:rotfl:

Sorry to hear your OH's blood test results were not too good, MHags.

Chicken - I found my disk of my most recent X rays and MRI this morning. I like the way in my MRI pics I am still recognisable from my chin!

Very busy day today - I am shattered but it seems no one else is!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Talking to OH online in the small hours.

    2) Not a bad sleep.

    3) Sons off to school happily.

    4) Smaller son "green" on the behaviour chart :-)

    5) Brother came round early on and we have pretty much finished re-painting the front of the house.

    6) He also helped me put another washer under the tap in the kitchen so you can turn the tap on without turning the whole tap round!

    7) Had a little doze on the sofa this afternoon with white kitten on my front.

    8) Made baked potatoes, pizza and baked beans for tea. Brother came round with some lovely autumn raspberries from his garden (better than the raspberries earlier this year) and he put them with some double cream in brandy snap baskets.

    9) Went to bingo in the village hall. We didn't win anything but smaller son's best friend and his brother came on our table and the brother won loads of cakes!

    10) Texts from OH.

    11) One of the sales on ebay has 16 watchers!

    12) Brother is here still and playing on the wii with both sons and MrN's son 5.

    13) Oh yes, bigger son has agreed to do an after school activity! He will put his name down to do rowing which will be especially cool as the river Severn is about 20metres from his new school.

    14) Looking forward to bath, bed and listening to the News Quiz on iplayer (can't remember if its the News Quiz or the Now Show, but either will do).

What a lovely relief that it's "just" soft tissue damage not a recurrence for you Chicken :):) x

MHagster, big hugs to you and OH, hope that the weekend will bring rest, relaxation and better health xx

    Today's goodies.....

    1. Sunshine

    2. OH was lovely, we actually spent time together today, just chilling out, talking and.......

3....he bought DD and I our christmas present early, two thirds of the cost of a new laptop as our only computer access is using my work laptop which will be going soon :( but :) to a shiny new one arriving at my local Waitro$e over the weekend :):)

    4. DD's missing tap shoes turned up......at the dance class! Hoorah! Although they are now a little small for her so I will hopefully be able to sell them on

    5. Watching the Shawshank Redemption for the billionth time, but I do love the film

    6. Knowing that DD will come and join me in bed before the night is out, cheeky little cub......

    7. We shared a portion of fish and chips for dinner tonight, a picnic in the car as by the time we got it, it was too dark and chilly to sit in the park as originally planned, mmm the car is going to be aromatic in the morning I reckon!!
