    Morning

VJsmum - Hugs to DD, hope she settles in soon
Patchwork Quilt - Hope DS is eating again soon
TILAMS - Hope Jenny passes her MOT with flying colours today

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Should have been a NSD but needed to give DD some money for bus fares as had misplaced her Oyster
    2. Everyone took packed lunch with them so saved some money. DD not big on packed lunches but she is going to have to get used to them.
    3. Chat with mum on phone. She is a bit unsettled this week but hopefully things will calm down a bit. Dad also not feeling too good but has a doctors appointment for later in the week so hopefully they can give him something to help with the pain.
    4. Good Friends of Guiding meeting with lots of events planned for the girls in the district. First one being the Rainbow Fun Day, should be a good day if a bit noisy.
    5. Managed the walk home from meeting in record time, may have been something to do with the fact that the path I walked down was unlit for most of the way and quite overgrown

Hugs to all who need them.

    Morning all.

Here's mine for yesterday, before I go and start packing for my weekend away:

    1) Last day at work before a week off. :j

    2) Not much to do at work so I spent some time looking up restaurants and pubs where I'm going. (Including a rather frustrating session trying to find any resemblance between two maps which were supposedly of the same area but which didn't seem to resemble each other at all - after longer than I care to admit I realised that one was on an east-west axis and the other north-south, and turning one through 90 degrees made them match perfectly. :o)

    3) A lovely energy salesman in the city centre gave me some advice on problems I'm having with my gas supplier, even though it was obvious he wasn't going to get a sale out of me.

    4) Went to the pub quiz in the evening - which we lost on a tie-breaker :( - then allowed myself to be talked into going to watch a live band a few doors away as I didn't have to be at work this morning. Very good they were too!

    5) Lots of fuss with Bin Bag Cat on the way home. (Have I mentioned BBC before? He / she is a very large, long-haired tortoiseshell cat with a habit of sitting in the middle of the pavement looking, from a distance, very like a dropped bin bag, except that bin bags don't usually mew and rub round your legs when you try to walk past, something that startled me somewhat on our first meeting! :rotfl:)

Hugs to all who need them.
Back after a very long break!

  • He came in tonight with a mahooosive bunch of flowers and a big bar of galaxy (my fav!!!) Honestly this man is amazing!!!

TFE- if mine did this know he would have been up to no good !!! I would have to check my bank account , go through his emails, plus his jean pockets and sniff his clothing :rotfl::rotfl:

CCP - enjoy your break CAT WOMAN :D

tilams - good luck with Jenny xx

PQ ((hugs)) big bold ones to your DS :(

Have a good day all !

Some for today so far, will update later if any more pleasures occur!

One for last night. Went to MrN's to retrieve sons and took him some cheese. (Not quite as random as it sounds - he does like cheese!) He had been baking so got some ginger cake in return.

Here are 5 or so for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons off to school OK.

    3) Posted my money earning Ebay top.

    4) Put another top on Ebay!

    5) Went to see the psych nurse. Everything she says makes sense. She was also helpful when I talked about bigger son's stresses. Just 19 more weeks to go...

    6) Had a teacake and a cup of tea in the hospital league of friends tea room.

    7) Got some compost from the coucil tips. They make it there and it is £1 for a massive bag.

    8) Charity shops and got bigger son a jumper and a very posh shirt for £3. They are almost OK for winter stuff now apart from bigger son's coat (12-13 years, sombre colours for school and waterproof if anyone is selling).

    9) Got some apples and will make blackberry and apple crumble in a mo as ordered by bigger son.

    10) Popped into Holland and Barrett and oat biscuits were reduced to 30p! So will have my nice cheese on those later.

    11) Smaller son not good at school today. :-( A day of walking out, refusing to look at people etc. This is the first time Mrs T had seen him like that. So first the TA came out to talk to me, then Mrs T herself. A big improvement on last years teacher - shook hands with me, looked me in the eye and so on. She said she has been a teacher for 24 years and will stick to her boundaries but thinks smaller son was upset because she had her PPA time today then a meeting so his class were handed round to a PE teacher, the perapatetic French teacher, then a supply teacher. They are hoping for better things tomorrow - and not excluding him!

    12) Put my cheapy compost in the old kitchen sink and put some of the herbs outgrowing their little pots in there instead. Then swept up and tidied the garden.

    13) Going to nip behind the village hall now and pick some blackberries for the crumble to save pulling the others out of the freezer.

Bit worried about OH and the amount of work he is doing. I am not liking this just seeing him every weekend or every other weekend for a few hours thing. :-(

    1. Waking up with OH and having a good chat about work, love, life, the universe and all that

    2. Sunshine

    3. No petrol day

    4. Glazier came to replace a pane in the kitchen to clear glass, yay, and is going to look out for a second hand door for the garage, double yay!

    5. Bumped into a lovely lady from church and have volunteered to help out at a children's event on Saturday morning with DD.

    6. Helped a friend by taking her son up to school with us this morning

    7. Felt pleased that I have been putting money aside each month for DD's school expenses when I got 2 requests for money - £16.50 (gulp) for a school trip and £4 for a visiting theatre company. Whilst I'm still working I'm happy to pay.....

    8. Got confirmation on something re: redundancy, huge relief! Still don't know how much I'll be paid off or when I'll leave but it's getting closer, this consultation period has gone on for ever...

    9. Feeling happy that I will be able to go to a friend's 40th party on Saturday as DD can have a sleepover there (hmmm, wonder how much they'll sleep!!!) and I can partaaaay downstairs with the grownups! (Church might be a struggle the next morning though ;) )

    10. Have bought my train ticket to my first choice university for next week's open afternoon, between OH, a friend and Brownies, DD will be looked after that day whilst I'm miles away schmoozing with the professors!

    11. The plasterer called and his quote is cheaper than I was dreading, hoorah!

    2. Made chocolate bread pudding - own made up recipe .. it was ok !

    3. Cooked a chilli con carne in the slow cooker for Mum and OH. I made a quo*rn one for me. Clean plates all round nice meal except the dog threw up on the kitchen floor, luckily we had just finished . Yuk !

    Evening all.

Kittikins - enjoy the party and the uni open day.

    1) Had a very pleasant wander around a neighbouring town while my car was being examined by the garage, and managed to dodge the showers while doing so.

    2) The garage reported 'no fault found'. I made clear I wasn't very happy with that and they've offered to have another look for nothing when I get back from holiday.

    3) I'm all packed for tomorrow, except for a few things I washed and which aren't quite dry yet. There's always something that won't dry, isn't there?

    4) Ordered a free toothbrush, thanks to a tip on the MSE newsletter. :money:

    5) Getting into the holiday spirit by sitting here sipping a wobbleade while typing.

Have a lovely evening, all, and a nice next few evenings - I'll post again when I get back from holiday. :j

Another pleasure. Bigger son liked his blackberry and apple crumble. Smaller son was not so sure. I said he could leave it if he wanted and he said....

"If I actually liked it, it would be extremely nice".

    :-)
