My 5 or so for today.
One from last night. Had to go to MrN's to retrieve sons (again) and was invited in. Stood on the mat and both dogs were astonished to see me. They both did a sideways walk up to me for some fuss then one had to lie down!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Changed 2 of the beds, did lots of washing, tidied up a bit.
3) Picked blackberries. They're really sparse, took me an hour to find 2 lb.
4) Cleaned mum's bathroom for her (her foot is in plaster). That was a job and a half. :-/ I did mention cleaning it weekly might be a good idea. Though monthly would be a start...
5) Homemade soup from the freezer for lunch. Not sure what sort but there were sweet potatoes in in. Also one of the many very cheap rtc rolls I had frozen.
6) Went to town and got sons another 2 jumpers from the charity shops. They are nearly stocked up for winter stuff now, apart from bigger son needs a coat.
7) Had a sneaky cup of tea and piece of short bread whilst in town and got some nice cheese for later.
8) Texts from OH. :-)
9) Looking forward to Holby City later.
10) (No longer in chronological order!) Smaller son decided last night he wasn't going to go to school today as Mrs T wouldn't let him leave the class to fill up his water bottle. Various running away threats were uttered again. Luckily, this morning he had forgotten about it! And bigger son has his first cookery class today (fruit salad).
11) Selling 2 items on Ebay; I don't sell much. One top is £5 at the moment and a tweed jacket smaller son had (from a charity shop) has just been listed and has loads of watchers.update just sold my White Stuff top that I bought for £4 from a charity shops for £21 !
12) Oh yes, and going home from town across the Clee Hills I was looking at the view - a patchwork of fields. Then it was raining on the Clee Hills (as ever) but everything else was in sunlight and it was like looking at a scene in a stained glass window.0 -
McHags:- Everything crossed. And I love that feeling when you get down time with no one around.:)
Sparrer sounds like a wonderful time with amazing ice cream flavours. Congrats on the win.:T
Chickenopolis:- Everything crossed for your MRI, hope all goes well.:)
Wasn’t able to do much today as a fever broke this morning I couldn’t get into work as I was not in good shape at all but out the other side now, fingers crossed.
1. While I lost a days pay which is not good at all as I’m working my notice but I was able to catch up on offers available thanks to this forum.:p
2. DH also poorly not a pleasure as such but we are both poorly together, thou I reckon he was enjoying a lay in!:rotfl:
3. MIL gave us a thing that measures how much electric we use each day, I had been saying for a long while even with all of the savings we are still spending too much and it is interesting with the facts and figures now at dhs finger tips he believes it. Thing is I am not sure how we can use less now, we line dry where we can turn everything off after us.
4. Feeling autumn in the air seeing it on the neighbours trees with the leaves turning.
5. The smell of the cheat chicken tikka curry slowly cooking away smells good so definitely feeling a bit better.;)
6. Defrosting a HM scrumped apple and blackberry crumble to be served with gorgeous honeycomb ice cream half price of course from Mr T at the weekend.:rotfl: Food orientated here.
7. Applied for a temp job, they phoned me within 10 mins, but feedback will not be for another week. Fingers crossed.:)0 -
1. Sunshine
2. OH will be here soon
3. Nice chat with favourite librarian
4. Good jam sesh with DD, she actually improvised some chord changes

7. I think I have a bottle of wine in the fridge to share with OH tonight, slurp!0 -
Hey guys,
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the week.
So mine for today are;
1. Totally OS day - Used up all the withered and sad looking veg in the bottom of the fridge and turned it into a chicken noodle soup (using a whoopsied chicken I got in MrM for £1.45!!) Also made some sundried tomato bread aswell.
2. NSD!!! Yey!! Seems to be more this month than last - and its only the 11th!
3. Had a very nice lie in this morning.
4. OH has been a complete gem the past few days - havn't been feeling all that well (oh the joys of being a woman!!) so had lots of cuddles, and TLC from him - including a really lovely candlelit bubble bath last night!
5. Finally, got around to sorting the kitchen out which is making me smile now as I can actually find things!! - Small things that please us eh??
Massive hugs to anyone that needs them :grouphug:
Happy tuesday everyone!

5 for today
1. Awake most of the night but watched a fab. program about some young people with Tourettes Syndrome , who were being selected to be in a band . Very talented .
2. Went to an auction OH got some JCB hedge cutters for £17 (inc vat) which started "first pull" . I was after a box of stuff which had a Sylvac Bunny and some paperweights in it . "Go to £8" I told him :rotfl:...It went for an overall cost of about £56  Glad he kept his hands in his pockets ..
3. Had a meal at the "golden arches"
4. Received a phone call from my nephew saying that his birthday card and cheque had finally reached him over a week later as the card was too large and required an extra £1.09 postage  . I said be assured that I will never send him a card much larger than an actual postage stamp again !!
5.OH picked me up a 1930's Bagley glass posy bowl for £2 at the auction . I am a sucker for vintage glass and nearly everyone has a bit tucked away under a kitchen sink or something (except Frith's sink) .
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all
Frith - you lucky so and so re the White stuff top. I'd have kept it though, I love White stuff.
Lots of food pleasures I see - casseroles, blackberries, chicken tikka and golden arches, risotto, soup and sausages.
1. DD had a slightly better day after a terrible start. I never thought I'd be virtually dragging a 16 year old up the school path and leaving her crying her eyes out. But a marvellous teacher took over and she seems to be more resigned to her fate
2. Nice, sympathetic colleagues when i finally arrived at work in a bit of a state.
3. I have sold a book on Ama7on, trouble is I put it on so long ago that I'm not sure I still have it
4. OH is back tomorrow.
5. Reading all your pleasures - so lovely when your own day is a bit grim.
S*d the housework, I might watch TV tonight.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Nom nom autumnal foods hitting the lists
Mhags even my crosses are crossed
Pk all the best with the job
Vjsmum all the best with DD
1) lovely walk down to main campus in the sun. Thought i had time for a coffee with OH then realised my 11am up at ninewells was actually 10am! Fortunately...
2) #5 trundled up and got to meeting at 10:04
3) meeting very productuve but suddenly realised had to rush to 1pm meeting without lunch :-(
4) lovely walk with colleague in wooded area by hospital after the 1pm meeting and had egg mayo sarnie as i walked along
5) meeting on main campus delayed cos other person's previous meeting overran. Had very productive hour in library. Then lovely walk home with OH. Now we're watching persuasion on dvd. Finished the chicken casserole for dinner. Very strange just being the two of us (cue cat to start sneezing lol) oh yes, and Murray won hoorayMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 371 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025
frogs eaten: 100 -
VJsmum - hope you're watching Bake Off, we are.......if only they'd make veggie pies instead! I love pastry, nomnomnom0
-
Evening all!
1) DD got home safely last night - the public transport system seemed to have an epic failure just as she was about to return from the cinema and pizza with friends. In the end, after yomping between the bus and train stations in the dark and the rain with a friend who needed to go in the opposite direction, we told her to get a taxi. It was £30!!! But well worth it.
2) Wore an old shirt to work and liked it, so am probably not going to buy another, thus saving myself £3 on charity shopping!
3) Wrinkly veg night, with chicken left overs, turned into Baked Potatoes with Chicken and Mushroom Topping.
4) Set myself a target of spending £60 in T3sco, partly due to 1) above, and spent £60.39, including a massive box of chocs I owe my Mum.
Can't think of another at the moment. Spare a thought for DS, who hasn't eaten very much since his gf left him last Monday. I keep trying to tempt him with pies and chips but he's not doing too well. Says he feels sick half way through a meal. I'm afraid I'm going to have to drag him to the doctor if it goes on. I wish I could be ill for him but it doesn't work like that!0 -
