1. Slept till 6 as stated above. Had the most peculiar dream..
2. DD went off to school all smiles and came back all smiles. <<faint>> I am hesitatingly thinking that we are over the worst
3. Lunch with besties. Nice to catch up
4. DS made curry for tea at school - and it was edible!! <<faints again>>
5. Last episode of Parade's End - the pleasure is watching, not that it's the last. Hope I stay awake.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

1) Managed not to have the heating on all day by sitting in various rooms until they cooled and wearing my indispensible furry reversible gilet while I ...
2) Got a great deal of OU stuff done, which makes me ahead, just for a little while.
3) Made some mincemeat for Christmas from our home-grown dessert apples and increased the acidity by adding more lemon juice than specified. It tastes good at the moment but we will find out if it worked in the middle of December when I start the mince pies.
4) Went out for a coffee with a friend and she insisted on paying, which I appreciated.
5) The sultana and apple cake that I made up seems to have worked. Everything has an apple in it this week. Am going to try pickled apples next.0 -
Not surprising sonny is enjoying the wobbleade. Gloat away - well deserved.
1) nice coffee with colleagues after a teaching session on main campus
2) son wanted to meet for lunch at uni
3) joined group meditation for world peace. It was sposed to be a flash mob but i think they changed their mind when the rain came on. Never taken part in a flash mob but then again never taken part in a group meditation in the city square so will still count it for this week's 1/50
4) then met up with mates in the phoenix. Just started new meds which say alcohol not advised hiss boo but soda and lime good:beer:
5) one of mates has offered to teach me to crochet next weekend for next week's 1/50 :TMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Thank goodness for timers on the wifi and wobbleades. Stops me from posting that was some brill own goal last night. Still rocking this very s[STRIKE]o[/STRIKE]unny morn.
5 Bit fed up of being told what to do by so called self appointed experts who know about as much about thgings as Nora, King of the Foe's, SFA. We have been inundated with things about some Skyride that is for cycist. Well blow my cotton socks off guys, I do cycle and I do not need some upstart numptified spotted unemployed University graduate telling me that I should do so. Watch kid, I have big green jacket on and helmet, guess what?
4 57 years of TV advertisinf and I still think the tin mem selling instant mash and the 'I've come for my Boy' Toffee Crisp are the best.
3 Points last eve for mes Mariners, see still gloating (Hugs DD I nose, it is hard to accept that your boys got a hell of a whipping!) Oh, and is case, Jenny gis you a :heartpuls
2 Cor, as I gots rant on and gloats today, had misfortune to let Ms Sonny get cheese from Mr S. Absolute rubberised sh!te. Thank goodness the cat likes it as it has been hurdled and booted out. Got some propper from Wait and Rose this morn.
1 Be one with yourself and One will be there for you.
Oh in case I has not rubbed salt into the wounds yet, what was the score last night.
Bye all and hugs to all that need them and esp[eially :heartpuls to CCP for the miners lamp job and I is in to the ENT on Monday as well, with new [STRIKE]booties[/STRIKE] Tyres on SonnyTruck so can go like the wind!I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

5 for yesterday
1. OH lost his admissions hearing so withdrew his claim for the real Tribunal . The funny thing was the judge saw his paperwork and clocked our email address . He said "ooh thats my surname" The email address is my surname and OH's surname which happens when joined together to be the surname of one of our friends . OH said the judges Christian name and it transpires that it was our friends brother , so he could not proceed with the case as he knew the family . Another judge was found that OH didn't know
2. Dentist appt. pain free and purse friendly
3. The other free cinema ticket arrived in the post .
4.Quorn and chinese fried rice for tea.
5. V. early night as OH shattered and slept like a baby.
5 for today
1. Banked some change .
2. Three lots of washing put out on my line and my Mums .
3.My uncle gave us a huge box of cooking apples in exchnage for some eggs . I will give some to my next door neighbour and make a crumble tomorrow.
4. Found an ancient satay sauce that we will have tonight with some rtc chicken and 50p boxes of Indian snacks from Mr. S.
5. Lovely day here have animals dust bathing in the empty raised beds , making the most out of what little warmth is in the earth.
Have a lovely day all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Really?I haven't seen a weather forecast, so thanks for the warning.
Chicken - sorry to hear the outcome of the hearing. What a coincidence that you ended up knowing the judge, though!
1) Woke up embarrassingly late this morning after sleeping for best part of 12 hours.I think it's getting near the time when I need to get my lightbox out again.
2) A delicious - and rather posh - brunch of hot smoked salmon (RTC, of course) on HM bread, followed by a couple of fresh figs.
3) Went blackberrying at an abandoned orchard, and managed to get a few apples as well, which pleased me as I've never got the timing right before (they're usually either not yet ripe, or have all been picked by the time I get there).
4) Saw lots of dragonflies while blackberrying, as well as several types of butterflies, birds, bees, and those eight-legged things that shall not be named.
5) My autumn crocuses are out in flower, as are my red chrysanths - I rescued the chrysanths from a RTC shelf three years ago and they've paid me back with masses of flowers every autumn since - not bad for 75p! :money:
6) Looking forward to a scrummy dinner which will finish with a blackberry and apple slump made with what I picked earlier.
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
PQ ...pickled apples ???
I have a recipe by Mary Norwak which I will put out if it's any good. The apples are still in the fruit basket at the moment though! It looks as if you poach them in sugar and white vinegar, with a touch of salt.
Anyway, today's five
1) A long lie in, partially because the house was so cold this morning, but I love being able to choose when we get up.
2) Cheese and tomato on toast instead of going out to brunch. We are consolidating for a few weeks.
3) Buying three birthday cards in 0xfam for £3.97! Having just been in a bona fide card shop and found nothing to our taste, that seemed good value.
4) A bee lesson this afternoon from my allotment buddy. We managed to improvise a feeder from a half jar of honey for a hive that is struggling. I had to wear her husband's suit, though, so I definitely had the Andy Pandy look!
5) I'm testing the part-roasted potatoes recommended on the Christmas thread this evening, and if they work out ok, I can do them now from our potatoes and keep them until Christmas.
Have a peaceful evening.0
