    Hi all

    My pleasures for today:

1 - Peaceful morning until 11 am not doing much, gave myself permission to relax

2 - 11am first refresher driving lesson, better than I expected, feeling excited at the idea of starting driving again.

3 - Nice leftovers lunch with DD

4 - Starting a school pick-up job, 2 hours x 2 days per week so will make a little cash

5 - In the process of organising the study room and turning it back into a bedroom so I can take in a student, alreadly lined up (at least she says she is sure!) Even if she does not turn up there are always students that need short term rooms in London to study English so the work I am doing now will be useful for the future.

6 - No bootcamp today as the trainer is on holiday, so no need to trek out in the rain and cold at 7pm! Might not be so healthy (no workout) but it is good for the soul to have a break!

    Have a good evening all
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • I love this thread...and as a newbie to it...here are mine!

    1. Going to sleep (shattered) at 8pm and sleeping a good 12 hours solid! Back to back shifts over the last few days did me in!
    2. Having a 'morning-cation' in bed till after 12 (basically a mini vacation for the morning in bed due to it being my day off!)
    3. Listening to the rain whilst in bed in the morning and NOT having to walk 20 minutes in that to work!
    4. Getting all my cleaning done for the day and putting my house back to normal!
    5. Pork belly roast in the oven...
    6. Reading a book I love with peppermint and lavender tea....
    7. Finding out that the new company DID underpay me and have me on a too high tax code and so, although I will be broke this month...(good practice) I will get it all refunded next month...

The perfect day off me thinks! Tomorrow I'm back at it at 7am...get paid...gym...and all the normal things!

Have a totally brilliant rest of your day everyone!

  • Good afternoon all !

Frith - please be kind to yourself at the moment and don't expect too much from yourself when you are in the middle of intense counselling and you have a nasty infection x

Mhagster - I am glad that your OH is able to eat and prepare "normal" food . He must be fed up with Enlive drinks!

    5 for today

    1. Work was ok .

    2. Gave a colleague a dozen eggs and a birthday card as she is 50 later this week. She said she will bring in some cakes , made with the eggs .

3.Filled up my diary so I will be out of office for half of the week.Made some decisions about the priorities and workloads in the team and this was passed by the head of the unit.

    4. OH making tea with left over chicken from yesterday . It better not taste like next day food  I have a real aversion to re heated stuff - just doesn't taste the same .

    5. OH has cleaned out the hens poo trays and made their food up for the week - saves me a job:D

Have a good evening all- hello businessgirl nice post x
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    1. Can't think of enough superlatives to describe how great my first day volunteering at DD's school has been today :) (very tiring as well, I never walk around this much at work!)

    2. NSD

    3. Hopefully a good start to my much-needed "healthy living"....just one small piece of choccy cake as a snack with DD after school ;) but very healthy otherwise today!

    4. I don't know who was more excited this morning, me or DD?!?! :)

    5. No petrol day

    6. All the teachers and TAs were very friendly and welcoming, as were the children in the class I helped with today.

    7. Have booked myself in for a flu shot at work - well, whilst I still have a job, I will make the most of my benefits!

    8. DD and I are listening to disco music, I've turned down the offer of a boogey as I'm aching but enjoying the music anyway. Maybe later we'll have a disco dancing competition.....

    Afternoon all.

This is just a quick post to thank you all for your best wishes for the operation this morning - about the best I can say is that it's over now! I really can't think of five pleasures for today as I'm feeling somewhat sorry for myself - I never want to have a painful operation if this is what the doctor thinks is a painless one!

I hope to be back tomorrow with a bit more cheerfulness - thanks everyone for posting and giving me something nice to read in the meantime.
Back after a very long break!

Big hugs CCP, hope the painkillers do their job and don't worry about feeling sorry for yourself, it's part of the healing process I find :( xx

CCP - hope you feel better soon. It's impossible to have too little pain, I find!

Thanks, Chicken. Its the ups and downs I hate; I often wish I just felt slightly rubbish all the time!

Kittikins - I was a volunteer at my sons' school for 4 years. I used to do every Tuesday. I always worked with the same teacher in yr 2 so both my sons passed through that class in the 4 years. :-)

Well, a bit of a blow today. Smaller son excluded again. He decided to ignore everyone all day and just sit outside the classroom playing with the stopwatches. He is now off school til Thursday. When I got there, the TA had the sad, happy, grumpy faces of children out on the table and I think he was supposed to be pointing to the right one, but no, the stopwatches were being tested.

Here are my pleasures for Monday so far.

    1) A good sleep! Hoorah! Woke up once because of the rain but it must have been approaching 8 hours in total. :-)

    2) Liking the new window frames that don't leak. Not liking the chimney which sent a good few pints of very sooty water across my living room floor (tiles, fortunately).

    3) Changed the beds and cleaned the bathroom.

    4) Made all the phone calls on my list - about the chimney, firewood, to smaller son's solicitor etc.

    5) Made a batch of crab apple jelly and it has set well and is really nice.

    6) Texts from OH. :-)

Looking forward to another earlyish night and listening to Just a Minute on iplayer.
