Frtih - glad you seem happier
Chicken - great idea re the "3 sisters thing" - I am gonna steal that for next year. I have furry fronds (oo er) on my baby sweetcorn, but not much else. Good luck for the tribunal
Kittikins - glad to hear about you and OH
    Tealady - lovely pleasures! :)
DD - Poet or professor? :p
Skint - hope you have a good weekend
CCP - what? no coffee? What about biscuits?:D

    1. Last week has been pretty stressful because of DD and her new 6th form. She feels like she has made a mistake, and although, in the normal run of things, I'd tell her to stick at it I think if she is going to change she'd better do it sooner rather than later. So yesterday I rang our local 6th form academy. She is off for a trial day on Monday.
    2. Lunch with friends to unburden all of the above
    3. Finally managed to clean and tidy porch, hall and kitchen. Including dejunking loads of stuff and swapping round some cupboards to create a store cupboard :T My aim is to have the whole house cleaned and tidied by Sunday eve.
    4. Went out for a drink with former cleaner and now friend. Was nice to catch up
    5. Lovely weather

    Have a good weekend everybody.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    2. second load of washing on
    3. doggie is asleep by my feet, maybe dreaming of something as she keeps "mumbling"... either chasing cats or a big bone maybe ;)

Don't worry, there were plenty of biscuits, and nice ones too as we're lucky enough to have an in-house chef who likes baking. :D

Skint - glad you're feeling cheerfuller today.

I had some rather sad news today - my calico cat friend and her tabby-and-white daughter are moving away. :( I should be glad they're going after the frantic five minutes I spent last night trying to persuade Ms Tabby to come out from under the passenger seat of my car , but I think I'll actually miss their antics.

    1) Bacon sarnie for breakfast.

    2) Wandered down to the shops in the sunshine, and found when I got there that there was a mass drum-playing demonstration going on. I left quickly to get away from the noise, and came home to find that one of my neighbours was doing some DIY which involved lots of drilling and hammering. :( The pleasure? It's so nice and quiet now it's all finished! ;)

    3) Cuddles with little calico cat - I'm going to make the most of it while she's still here.

    4) Gave my last remaining tomato plants a serious haircut in the hope that they'll put their energy into ripening the small number of tomatoes that have grown.

    5) More Paralympics tonight. :D Whatever am I going to do when it finishes? smiley-sad010.gif

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • 1) Brunch at our local supermarket. DH and I shared a massive breakfast, which only saved a couple of quid but it felt frugal.
    2) Settled down on the sofa with two seed catalogues and my favourite magazine whilst DH practised a fairly restful new tune.
    3) DS drove himself to band, saving us a back trip and a there trip, if you see what I mean.
    4) Lovely neighbour came round with a heap of perfect plums.
    5) A beautiful sunset to gaze at this evening.

    Have a lovely weekend folks.
  • Hi all .....continuing from earlier

    4. bacon and scrambled egg for lunch
    5. walk along the common and foreshore, sea looked lovely could have been in the med
    6. friend came round for coffee and chat

    1. Lovely sunny morning, took doggie for a walk
    2. second load of washing on
    3. doggie is asleep by my feet, maybe dreaming of something as she keeps "mumbling"... either chasing cats or a big bone maybe ;)

DS got on the roof and it looks like next door have chopped off my boiler escape pipe and rendered over it

Am trying not to worry, will need to speak to her when she gets back on Monday

    1. Sunshine :)

    2. Some friends from my church home group came over this morning and we had a wallpaper stripping party, the place is a mess but at least it's looking less wallpaper-y!

    3. Parents went on holiday today and thoughtfully sent me their newspaper subscription tokens, so we will have free paper for a fortnight :)

    4. Went to a baby shower this afternoon, lots of nice girly chums, some funny games, delicious cakes and great chats

    5. Have signed up for a fab sounding free quick course with Guiding people that will hopefully be useful for teaching

    6. My replacement O level certificate is on its way, woohoo! Hopefully £35 well spent....

    7. DD made a 'new' friend, a girl from a younger year to her at school who we knew vaguely before today even though they walk past our house to school every day...Play dates are set up and her mum is lovely so she'll come over for vino too!
