My 5 or so for today (so far).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Smaller son a bit tired so not quite as enthusiastic about school as earlier this week. He was hiding under the quilt that lives on the sofa but I found tumble drying his uniform for 5 minutes so it was warm helped him put it on!

    3) Made 2 meals worth of bolognese sauce.

    4) Went to see mum and dad and their new pigs.

    5) OH back in the UK.

    6) Went to pick smaller son up from school. His classroom is in a modern extension, joined to the Victorian bit of school by a glass tunnel thing. He was walking from the loo back to his classroom and I could see him through the glass and he was not only doing a bit of a silly, dancing walk but was also singing!

    7) Smaller son went into silver on the behaviour board (rare) for his work in maths.

    8) My new kitchen sink has arrived and brother is hopefully coming to help me fit it - if not later this evening, then in the morning.

    9) We are going to have a Chinese for tea to celebrate the good first week back at school.

    10) Smaller son's treat is he is going to jetwash my car at the garage. :-)

    Evening all.

mhags - I didn't realise that you work for a university as well - there seems to be a developing university theme on this thread!

    1) Glorious, warm, sunny weather.

    2) The work event went well after an initial disaster when we ran out of coffee, which isn't something you want to happen when you have a room full of academics!

    3) Submitted my details to a market research organisation which seems to pay unusually well (around £50 per session, although that has to cover travel expenses and they don't seem to do much on the south coast :undecided). Now I just have to wait and see if they want me...

    4) Lovely photos of my DF's new cat doing a parrot impression on his shoulder. :rotfl:

    5) Looking forward to a lazy Friday evening with pizza (from the supermarket so marginally more :money: than the takeaway I really wanted), a glass or several of wine and yet more Paralympics. :D

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    6. Helped a friend out by having her lovely daughters over after school. We played in the park til 5:30pm and met up with lots of other chums, then back home for tea and more running around. Bliss!

    7. Worked from home

    8. Did a bit of reading for my career change plans, must wade through all those library books soon!

    9. Watching Shaun the Sheep with a happy DD :)

  • Good evening all !

    Frith - Lovely post .

Skint - Please have a good weekend !

Kittikins - career change sounds exciting !

    6 for today.

    1. Lovely weather.

    2. Spent the day in the garden having dosed myself up on anti inflams , picked some sweetcorn , I have not grown this before and will do the whole "three sisters" thing next year -corn, beans that grow up the corn and courgettes in one patch- South American way of growing apparently. Hens clocked the un peeling of the sweetcorn thing and we shared a nibble. OH can have some for tea .:rotfl:

    3. Made fakeaway fried chicken with rice and peas.

    4. Saw my cousin's puppy a lab , staffy cross - he is a cutie and has teeth like a little Piranha .

    5. My next door neighbour gave me a basket of huge beef steak tomatoes and onions that her son had grown in exchange for some eggs . A fair exchange and a nice surprise .

6.Mum found the receipt for the "Try me Free" Quo*n - sent off with packaging to redeem money back. Thanks for the idea CCP:D

OH has fired off his employment tribunal claim .. watch this space folks ..

Have a good weekend all !

Yum, DD and I keep on planning to grow sweetcorn but have never got round to it, sounds deeeelish :)

Feeling so relieved that OH and I have sorted out the nastiness of last weekend. I was really pleased and excited to see him when he came over yesterday for the first time in a little while.....we'd had a bit of a chat during the week and with some of my work stress being relieved yesterday, its helped me a lot in all areas of life, I feel much lighter in spirit today. Phew!
  • Chicken, sounds like you've nearly got "the good life" going on.

Thanks for the OU suggestions I will have a look into it.

Getting a bit nervous that I leave work in 2 weeks but hey the pleasure is there's another 2 weeks pay while I am looking.:)

    1. Thank Crunchie it’s Friday:beer:
    2. Treated myself to a long lunch engrossed in a great fiction book and
    3. The subway sandwich was lovely
    4. It’s going to be a lovely weekend and I have a lovely garden set to christen, ridiculously happy about it. it must be a sign of getting "older":rotfl:
    5. Visiting the in-laws to pick up the moggies tomorrow, looking forward to their company and I love that part of Kent.

    Evening

Frith - Good to hear DS is settling back into school well, long may it continue.
Kittikins - Glad you and OH have sorted things out you sound much happier for it.
Chicken - Keeping everything crossed for your OH's tribunal.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Lots of bits arrived in the post from various survey sites to trial.:money:
    2. Treat a friend to lunch who has had a miserable week. Lunch was delish and a bargain, more importantly seemed to cheer friend up.
    3. Sorted out some paperwork for my mum. She has a spreadsheet to keep on top of a savings scheme she does with some friends which suddenly stopped adding up but she didn't delete any of the formulas so she says:p
    4. Nice chat with MIL on phone and hopefully arranged to do something in a couple of weeks.
    5. Getting the monthly report out in record time, am loving the new format. Have gone from a 30 page report that used to take several days to compile to a 1 page report that takes 10 minutes :D

Hugs to all who need them
