Chicken - love the Benny Hill chickens but bleurgh to the frog
Frith glad you had a better day - and that texts from OH were one of your pleasures
Thefamousexcuse - congrats on your promotion :T

    So todays

    1. Kids back to school. DS was alright, the greater worry was DD but she described her day as OK. OK will do for now, it is early days. She did treat everyone to her tyranosaurus rex impression so she must feel like she fits in!
    2. Peace in the house - wierd.
    3. Finally made inroads into my Korea work load - I'm going next week, so it is about time
    4. Lovely walk along the canal, we collected some blackberries but they are few and far between.
    5. Family meal in pub - my steak was a bit "curates egg" - good in parts.

I'm shattered - a bit more work then up the wooden hill to bedfordshire with the archers (so, should it be Borsetshire?)
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Evening all

    1. First day back at work for 5 weeks and it wasnt as bad as I expected.

    2. Roofer turned up at 8.30 as I was leaving for work, and job was finished when I got home and he hasnt left the bill ;) no doubt he will be back soon for his money. At least now there is no threat of it all falling down and crashing through into my kitchen

    3. Neighbour gave me £150 ... sadly I have to give it to roofer ;)

    4. Leftover pasta for lunch

    5. suncream on offer at @sda so got some for DS trip to South Africa in october

    6. got some yellow sticker salad bits for tea, chilli cous-cous on offer, cheap jog pants and t shirt for yoga and so treated us to deli hot roast chicken which was nom nom :D Saved me from cooking and with leftovers for tomorrow

    7. went round to see other neighbour as I'm looking after her doggy for a few days. Doggy is a real softie spaniel and I'm quite looking forward to it

Not bad for a work day :p

Frith pleased you all had a good day :)
VJ'smum I could get dizzy just standing on a high kerb! Your cheese and ham omelette reminds me of the c & h crepe I had, sitting on a step in Edinburgh last week. Delish  Didn't have your lovely tee shirt weather though
    tfe what a lovely 5 :)
PK how good to have such nice neighbours/friends that you can [STRIKE]waste[/STRIKE] spend so much time just chatting with them ;)

    1. Two lines of washing dried before I went out
    2. Postie brought me an rtc set of garden lights
    3. Seeing a neighbour's lo in her first school uniform, a little too long, a little too loose, but oh, so sweet! Her mum was a little bit teary - I have to admit I was the mother crying at the school gate when my children went back after holidays :o.
    4. Visited a friend for tea and admired her two new kittens. Real cuties
    5. Sitting in bed with a mug of hot chocolate and a nana. Oh, the decadence!

    Sweet dreams :)

Hello, well after a beautiful day yesterday we have had a wild Wednesday, really high winds and very heavy rain, came home to lots of tree debris over road and driveway.

    1. DD2 is away to music camp, with like minded kids so she is happy to be away. Will be very quiet without her.

    2. Ducklings on the river at work made me smile yesterday, so cute.

    3. Teacher strike today so kids off school, another day without uniforms ! Means less to wash at end of week!

4.teeny tiniest improvement in OH, though he is still very poorly.

    Well I made 4 can't think of no.5 , have a good day x

    5. Nice phone call with my friend from home. Her daughter is a bit poorly so I'm thankful that my children are hale and hearty.

5 or so for today while tea is in the oven!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons both very enthusiastic about going to school. :-)

    3) Went to the doctors and put my case forward that I haven't got what I used to have again but something new... she was very good, very thorough and I have the new medication to try from this evening onwards with a review in a few months. Scary but getting necessary!

    4) Went to Sainsburys without any children - hoorah!

    5) Not MS in any way but bought a printer. Haven't had one for ages. Got some proper photo printer paper and have printed out a photo for mum and dad and 4 fresh ones of the boys for the frames on the stairs. Nice to have a change.

    6) Picked smaller son up from school. 2nd full day at school since April! Quite odd for him to just run up to me, not accompanied by a teacher who wants to "have a little word". He is still happy.

    7) Bigger son home on the school bus. Still really enjoying school. He has found a way to smuggle out a doughnut tomorrow (!) for smaller son.

    8) Bigger son goes on the bus with MrN's youngest 4 sons (now in years 7, 9, 11 and 13 at the same school). It seems they are all friends again so both my sons are round there now. Its a bit odd really. MrN is in so I am not sure how to retrieve them to have their tea!

    9) Texts from OH who is driving from Germany to Italy for work. He was on one of the roads they filmed on Top Gear at one point!

    Evening all.

Frith - I'm so glad to hear your younger DS is enjoying school.

mhags - I hope your OH picks up quickly now.

thefamousexcuse - many congratulations on the promotion. :T

    1) Another glorious sunny day.

    2) A lovely phone call from the mother of a student thanking me for all the help I've given him. We don't do it for the thanks, of course, but it's lovely when we get them. :)

    3) Picked three more alpine strawberries, making them by far my best crop this year.

    4) Chopped up a RTC mango I bought last week and had forgotten about :o - it's still fine and had loads of fruit on it.

    5) Having fun making up recipes to use up the stuff in the fridge before I go on holiday next week. :j

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

  • Sparrer:- My DH talks and talks and talks, and I thought they said women natter, but he really does talk and talk..:p

    1. Work was well yeah only listed in pleasures as it’s a chunk of the day, but lunch was lovely and very mse as I talked myself into making my own this morning. Determined to find a pleasure I did get told I look healthy for once, going to try and keep a bit of colour hopefully. The Olympics at Brands hatch is causing me mayhem with travel.

    2. I’m reading a book on wicca, and I’m trying to make my mind up on what I think about it.

    3. My stockpile of books has re grown having acquired lots from a stall that left it’s stock at the steam fair, and lots of things I wouldn’t have otherwise read, should keep me out of mischief for a while. :rotfl:

    4. Dinners a bit of a cheat from the freezer of curry and Uncle Bens package rice all pre done, just defrosting now.:D

    5. Looking out at the garden and liking having a garden, planning to somehow get a cheap table and chairs so we can sit out, and look at all the gardening we should be doing mwah mwah.:)

  • Good evening all!

Frith - Mr N !! There is a blast from the past ! Glad things are on the "up" for you and the boys xx

PK - I think caravanning and the outdoors has rubbed off on you . You are turning in to me (poor you :D) what with the floaty dress and wellies and loving the garden . Nothing finer :)

    5 for today

    1. Load of washing done - OH had left what looked like cardboard in some item of clothing and the clothes came out covered in bits of it ... what is the pleasure you may ask ?? Only two items of clothing in the machine were mine :);)

2.A lovely sunflower growing in the garden , never had one before.

    3. Made a pizza base with plain flour and dried yeast as found my bread flour was way out of date and had been left open. It was lovely and saved money and time by not needing to use the bread maker and it did not require time to prove. Just whacked ingredients in bowl and rolled out .

    4. Had the pizza and chips on the picnic bench in the garden, having shut the hens up in the top garden. Lo and behold two managed to get under /over the fence ?? and jumped on the picnic table and our dinner plates ...fortunately we had eaten all we wanted . Little bu88ers !

    5. Seen a nice little job - less hours , less money , only mat. cover but why the heck not ? Its the sort of job that would bring me a huge amount of personal satisfaction by advising/supporting very very ill people and their families. I used to do something similar a while back but got fed up with supporting people to access benefits/grants which were allocated for essential items (beds, cookers, furniture) which got spent by some recipients (although a minority) on the latest mobile phone or SK* subscription and NOT it's intended purpose:mad: .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
