Sorry I have passed my cold on!
Here are my 5 or so for today:
1) Lie in.
2) Sister phoned.
3) Took the scooters to the park.
4) Phoned school and told them the Exclusion Officer had said there did not have to be a reintegration meeting. The E Officer hadn't been in touch with school (blast!) but I said we would not be having the meeting. They tried to make me and smaller son come in for an "informal meeting" but I wriggled out of that too. Hoorah!
5) Went to have several cups of tea with a friend of mine.
6) Went to the Arboretum by her house. Bigger son decided we were going to Walsall Margarita!
7) Tea in Ikea :-)
8) Just been talking online to OH who is in Germany and France this week. Not sure what is going to happen here but I don't think the day before my son starts at high school and smaller son returns to school after 3 months AND I am stressed and full of cold is the day to make a decision. :-(0 -
Hope poorly people get well soon
PK glad you had a lovely time in the CofL
Tealady - glad your DD got on well, it is my DDs first day at 6th form today. She is the only one she knows going so I hope she makes friends
Sparrer - ooh balloon trip, sounds fab. Although I think I would have to be drunk to do it.
The house is eerily quiet and I am all alone, bliss:D
For yesterday
1. Beautiful weather
2. Shopping trip was remarkably stress free and quick
3. Nice enough lunch and I treated myself to a non-alcoholic cocktail. Yummy
4. Cheese and ham omelette for tea - nicest and fastest fast food I know
5. Sat outside eating stinky cheese and sipping port, in the dark, in a t shirt. Long may it last - cheese, port and weather.
I really must start some work now. Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

What a day!
Here are my 5 or so:
1) Both sons off to school OK. Drove bigger son to his new high school. Strange to keep peeping the horn on the way at all his classmates, waiting for the school bus! (Only yr 7s in today)
2) Popped in to see mum and dad.
3) School didn't phone me all day about smaller son. I was probably supposed to pick him up at lunchtime (he should still be on half time timetable)...
4) Went to County Hall to get bigger son a bus pass. Thanks to the bank of mum and dad. :-(
5) Went into town afterwards and did the second hand shops. Got 4 tops, 2 from White Stuff. I might Ebay one of them though, not sure I like it after all. Also got a jumper for bigger son.
6) Texts from OH.
7) Phoned school as sons won't be home until 6.30. Smaller son had a marvellous day! No trouble, didn't leave the classroom - even asked if he could leave the room to use the loo!
8) Got some wallflowers for the back garden.
9) Holby City later.
N.B - Smaller son's first full day at school since April!!0 -
Evening all.
1) After a gloomy start it's turned into a really lovely late summer day.
2) Managed to get to work without taking my little calico cat friend with me - she jumped in the car as soon as I opened the door and it took some effort to get her out again!
3) The order I'd placed for some cat collars as a birthday present for my dad was cancelled as they'd sold out.The pleasure is that that prompted me to search for an alternative supplier and found some much nicer ones which are made by a local company.
4) More spicy tomato soup for lunch, served cold as the weather's so warm, and just as nice that way.
5) Omelette and chips for dinner - sometimes the simplest things are the nicest.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all !
Frith - its so nice to hear that the first day back at school went well. Long may it continue .
5 for today
1. Woke up "naturally".
2. Found a book that I thought that I had lost called The Moneyless Man . Not about a skint bloke but about a man who did not spend any money in a year and lived in a caravan on an organic farm . Interesting.
3. Made OH a fruit crumble from a handful of blackberries from the garden, blueberries, nectarines (!) a manky apple and some even mankier strawberries . I refuse to chuck them out. He WILL eat it :rotfl:
4. Hens lying around in the sun all day except when one of them had a seriously dead frog (not that fresh either ) and was running round the garden like Benny Hill , with the others chasing her. CCP what were you saying about a tasty omelette:rotfl:;)
5.Mum gave me a "try me for free" qu*rn curry, but failed to keep the necessary receipt ... so not so free then really.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
