Kittikins - hope you're OK. I've come down with a massive cold which I feel is as good a reason as any not to have to make any decision today. :-/

    Evening all.
CCP - Ellie Simmons is fantastic ! The day that I see someone as inspiring as her advertising shampoo at peak viewing times (like M. Cavendish, V. Pendleton and M. Phelps ) I know the world will be a more equitable place .....hopefully in my lifetime ;) I know I am getting boring now :o

For now I'd settle for having the masthead at the top of this website decorated in Team GB colours, as it was during the Olympics - do they not support Team GB in the Paralympics?

Frith / Kittikins / mhags - hugs to you all.

    1) A mizzly, drizzly sort of day today, so I didn't feel at all guilty about...

    2) ...spending the day watching sport - Paralympics, grand prix (great flying F1 cars!), 3 day eventing, tennis, now Paralympics again... :D

    3) Made a big batch of spicy tomato and lentil soup to warm me up, with loads for lunches for the rest of the week. :money:

    4) I've got my DF's birthday present sorted out - I'll buy him some posh collars for his new cats - a relief as he's always difficult to buy for.

    5) LSD - just a bag of cat litter as I was running low.

Have a nice evening, all - I must go back to my sport! ;)
Back after a very long break!

CCP I agree... we should start a campaign or how do we bring it to the attention of MSE powers that be ?

  • I love reading this thread - you are all so lovely and make me think in different ways.

    So 5 for today
    1. Warm and sunny (had a fleece on for some of yesterday)
    2. Sorted out and rearranged spare room (wouldn't have been a pleasure immediately after as I was perspiring heavily - but it looks so much nicer!)
    3. DD playing with her friend in the house and back (no spending!)
    4. Because they've not whinged, moaned or asked for anything they are now having a sleepover and I've put them in the bath in swimming costumes, tried to make it a bit darker and put glow sticks in the bath for them to play with and they are loving it! (found the glowsticks tidying up today!)
    5. Lovely chat with my little brother on the phone who lives a long way away.

Love you TLAMS xx A cat would be much easier to understand than a member of the opposite sex that's for sure! :)

Hugs Frith, I've not taken any action to sort my life out either, my reason is a splitting headache all day today. I'm still angry with OH but can't be bothered with it today.

    But in much nicer news......

    1. DD has returned home :):):):):)

    2. We watched the latest Muppet movie this evening, we saw it at the cinema and I think I liked it even more the second time round :)

    3. She made our dinner of Tuscan bean soup into a dinner party complete with candle and then points out of 10 a la C0me Dine With Me, love her :)

    4. My dad did tons of DIY in the house, and I now have a new desk which looks very swanky.

    5. Soooooooooo lovely to have DD back, we've had lots of cuddles and silliness, yippee!

Quick one tonight cos in a moment of weakness i agreed to be at the gym at 8am tomoz
    1) was gonna do cooked breakfast but no bread and no bacon. oH offered to nip down to local but I modified breakfast from store cupboard (so frankfurter, beans, toms and fried pots)Much more :money:
    2) having heard last night friends going on boat from anstruther to isle of may today phoned up and although full they'd just had a cancellation for two :T
    3) went to lidl with list. After 3 months of increasing slackness ending in going OD need to grt back on track :A
    4) took packed lunch to eat on the boat then had flask for 2.5 hours on island so very OS (and very beautiful)
    5) then back to anstruther for their award-winning haddock and chips. Even told us which boat had caught the fish (though not which farmerhad picked the spuds :rotfl:)
Writing this suddenly remembered Oh had a coffee and mars bar and i bought a card so need to make sure they're down on pocket money budget. Forgot how tricksy this remembering malarkey is;)
Have a good sunday evening. I'm off to bed with my library book. 8am in the gym, total madness!

TILAMS count me out of the 'needing a real man', had two who I thought were for life, one lasted 23 years til he met a peroxide blonde American floozie half his age on line. Can't entirely blame the net, of course. The other one went and died last year, how thoughtless :(. Keeping it light now, dinner dates only. Too long in the tooth to want to wash anyone elses socks :p

Pleased it wasn't just me who notices the Olympics header has disappeared, didn't like to say anything but do think it's a bit naughty. Bad, Martin!

    1. Chest in a mess (too much sitting, not enough action), so had an hour at gym which has started to sort it out. So good to be able to 'self-medicate' at times instead of being in and out of hosp

    2. Good meeting with friends at lunchtime, a young lady who phoned for advice when I was doing phone duty turned up which is always good to see. Gave her some phone numbers in case she wants/needs to call anyone and arranged for her to have a lift next time

    3. Discussing with a friend about Hayling Island next weekend and Barcelona in Oct., two ladies have dropped out of both so just three of us going. With respect we'll have more comfortable holidays as they can both be a little - shall we just say, demanding :o

    4. Made a big pan of porridge and froze portions for another time, and a pan of fusilli which I also froze in portions.

    5. DNeighbour gave me a carrier bag of pears from the orchard at the end of her garden, I gave her some of the eggs my Yorks friends brought me.

    6. Cleared all but two of the hanging baskets ready to plant up for Winter, feels good to have the energy to go outside and do something

    7. Found a nice, inexensive guest house in the countryside which takes dogs, where I can go for a retreat between now and the C word.

    8. Talking of going out to dinner, got a phone call from someone who sounds really nice, we laughed a lot in our first conversation (good sign). I'm out most of tomorrow so he's phoning again on Tues to arrange to meet for lunch :o

    Night night, sleep tight :)

I really love the concept of travelling by map - wish it could always be like that :rotfl:

Hugs to all who need them - including, but not exclusive to, Mhags, Frith and Kittikins (can you tell I deal with the law!)

Been sooooooo busy, have only had chance to read for the last few days, let alone post.

SO for the last few days

    1. Student house finished and let. WE have worked really hard to turn round a dingy smelly dark house into a light and bright, fresh smelling house. Pretty much on a shoestring - if anyone says residential letting is money for old rope they should have seen us over the last few days.
    2. We did escape for lunch with some of OHs school friends yesterday. One is over from Oz with his wife so it was lovely to catch up
    3. Lovely afternoon at Coughton COurt today.
    4. Watching Paralympics. Richard Whitehouse''s 200m yesterday was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
    5. Conservatory put back together
    6. Kids hoovered a lounge each :T
    7. Warm sunshine
    8. Big bosses trip to far east gone well, hopefully will secure us some income for the next few years as we don't seem to have many students.
    9. DD passed her NPLQ and is now a qualified lifeguard :T
    10. DS ate yesterday's lasagne - good job he didn't know about the onion, , mushroom, pepper and carrot in it! :D

Last day of the holidays tomorrow :( - unfortunately it has to be spent shopping for stationery (where does it go, that I have to buy it every year?), trainers, some clothing. MIL is coming too  But we are going to treat ourselves to lunch at the indian / chinese / italian / anything else buffet.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Haven't done anything re: OH. Apparently he is spending tonight at home. Obviously in no rush to come and see me then, despite the fact this was his last chance for seven weeks.

    Anyway, pleasures for today:

    1) Lie in.

    2) Lunch at mum and dad's.

    3) Went for a walk with sons, brother and brother's dog.

    4) Had chilli for tea that I made yesterday.

    5) Made brownies.

    6) My school friend came for tea and left 1am!

    7) Last day of the school holidays tomorrow (it's today now) which is exciting and will bring huge changes....
