    Evening all.

Pooky - what a lovely list of pleasures. :)

TILAMS - good luck for the 12th! I'm glad Monty's OK enough to be causing trouble. :)

Chicken - I hope your back has been a bit more co-operative today.

    1) Booked my car in for a very expensive trip to the dealer, which will apparently take at least 2 hours. :( The pleasure is finding out that there's a 13th century church just up the road that I can go and have a nose around while I'm waiting.

    2) Lots of fuss with my calico friend when I got home from work - once I'd got her out of my car, anyway!

    3) Decided to treat myself to a RM flatbread to go with my dinner, then found them in the YS section at half-price, so I got two and froze one for another time. :money:

    4) After a rant on another part of the MSE forum, I've managed to get the Channel 4 website to work so I can watch the Paralympics, although only when sitting at the computer as it won't work if transferred to the full screen setting. :(

    5) Might treat myself to a naughty glass or two of wobbleade tonight, as it's Friday, and payday too.

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    1. Payday :)

    2. Worked from home

    3. Realised that we have enough food for the month already, just fresh stuff to get (and try not to waste money on rubbish as I have none!)

    4. Glazier came over this morning to measure up to do a few bits and eagerly awaiting his quote.

    5. Kitchen quote came in and is less than I was dreading but still a lot, oh well....

    6. OH's sister came and told me not to bother to do half the jobs I have planned on the house if I need to rent it out. Not entirely sure she's right but she did own a letting agency for many years and still lets her own properties out, so will heed most of her words :) Very nice of her to come over :)

    7. Nice chat to my mum on the phone, even nicer ones to DD :):):)

    8. Received LV in payment for doing a survey recently :)

    9. My water bill came (first with a meter) and due to the leak allowance being applied, I'm still £67 in credit, woohoo!! So that's next bill taken care of I reckon, will really help when I'm unemployed and ekeing out every penny

    10. Planning on having a nice shower and snuggling into a freshly made bed tonight, will do but having had a phone call, now it'll be after a night on the tile with a chum who's just back from holiday :)

    VJ'smum - like Tywyn too!

Here are my 5 or so for today (Friday).

    1) Big lie in! Only got home after 1am though.

    2) Went to town.

    3) Went to mum and dad's and cleaned my car out. Smaller son helped with the hoovering.

    4) Tidied up a bit.

    5) Found out where the smell is coming from in the house... and dealt with it. :-/

    6) Going to watch a film in a minute.

Pleasure 6, with apologies for repeating something I've just posted on another thread - http://www.paralympic.org/ - Paralympic coverage which works (unlike C4, which died again shortly after I last posted :() and which doesn't interrupt the action with endless ad breaks. :T

Excuse me, please - I'm off to watch some sport. :j
Back after a very long break!
  • Pooky.... must be warmer where you are to be able to have breakfast in the garden... blooming freezing here this morning

Ok... today not been the best of days. DS (17yo) off to Chatsworth was told to be at minibus for 6am. He got up at 4am  and I got up at 5.30am to wave him out the door..... I went back to bed and just dozing off when DS returned home. When he got there- no minibus, so his friend checked the letter again and realised it was 6pm !!!!

    so anyway...

    1. had early breakfast with DS whilst the sun got going (too tired to throttle him )
    2. payday :j
    3. NSD (direct debits dont come out until 1st so always look like am loaded on payday :D )
    4. weigh in day and have lost 1 lb
    5. went back to bed for couple of hours. but not used to broken sleep anymore felt like carp all day
    6. Phoned builder re emergency repairs to roof (fire wall has come loose and slipped down the roof and is hanging precariously over edge of roof  ) He came straight round, gave a reasonable quote and agreed to come round early next week..... and neighbour agreed to pay half. Fingers crossed builder comes and sorts it before it falls off the roof and through my kitchen roof below
    7. sunny afternoon went for a walk
    8. DS finally got off to chatsworth at 5.30 PM
    9. Have just come back from friends house where popped in for coffee and chat. Was just starting to rain when I left hers and I managed to walk home before the rain got heavier

Have a happy weekend everyone x

Good evening all, here are my five for today:

    1. Nice breakfast of fruit with homemade yogurt (the pleasure is that the yogurt is coming out better and better at every new batch!)

    2. Walked to market with friend and she bought the drinks at cafe as it was her turn

    3. Lovely sunshine, even if the air iptemperature is cooling down

    4. Cleaned the bedroom, changed bedding and sorted the laundry mountain, DH was very pleased

    5. Family dinner, all the four of us to say bye to DS who is going to Spain tomorrow, I won't see him for a few weeks because I leave for Italy before his return. Made couscous with grilled Halloumi and roasted veg, we all loved it.

    Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    1. nice to sit at the table and eat breakfast with friends, and a very well-mannered little boy
    2. far too cold/tired to go to the gym so went back to bed for a while after visitors left.
    3. enjoyed left-overs from last night for dinner
    4. lovely neighbour invited me in for a cuppa

Dog has a nasty patch of what looks like eczema on his back and is losing coat in one small area, so got an appt with vet on Monday. Gave him a bath and keep putting cool water on the area but he's so uncomfortable, keeps trying to scratch it. Poor poorly mutt :(

Saw the other side neighbour with the horrid dogs today, he was taken to court last Friday after they attacked another dog, but somehow got away with it . Told to keep the dogs on leads (they never do) and keep them muzzled but owner says they hate the muzzles and he doesn't want them to be upset so won't make them wear them. Saw him walking the dogs today, one each sire of him walking well but neither on a lead . Very grateful for my new fence.

Cold and weary, think it's all caught up with me so will say night night and take myself to bed. Sweet dreams :)

I've been feeling a bit emotionally overwhelmed last couple of days :(

so here are a few pleasures:
1.Not spent very much this week....though......

2.Went to our local Thai restaurant with kids last night and as usual had a lovely meal and lovely service from the staff.

3.We were all remarking on the brightness of the full moon as we walked home, our (usually very, very dark) street was so well lit we could see where we were going. DD1 was telling us all about a blue moon, and where the saying 'once in a blue moon 'originates!

4.Today is the first day of Spring in Australia! So hopefully we'll start to warm up a bit (not too much though!)

5.Lots and lots of cockatoos to walk past yesterday morning, they were down on the grass feeding and were not bothered by me walking by them.

So , hey, it's the weekend I need to forget about work/school (dd2 still having problems) put them aside and enjoy time with my family and look after my still poorly OH.
I need to enjoy the beauty of Spring that is in the gardens and parks, the change in the air and the promise of days stretching out that wee bit longer!

Have a good weekend when you all wake up!

MHagster - the moon yesterday (Thursday night) was fantastic! I can't work out if that is the day you mean or not. We were on the beach in Wales from 6-10pm, miles from anywhere (no lights at all) and we could still see to run about!

Lovely to drive home too, could look across the valleys and see farmhouses etc. (Not too often though, had to concentrate on driving!)
