Typing this in my wee office as the sun starts to disappear....we go from light to dark with no dusk, it has been a pleasant day, gently warm with a wee breeze.

1.Mr Mhagster home , still feeling bleurgh (he felt okay in hospital but wasn't doing anything! but better than what he was, I think he has to realise that it will take a wee while for his system to recover.
I'm so glad he is home :)

2.Work was not as frantic as normal. I need to raise the issue of recruiting new staff with manager. Casual staff are all starting to get a bit restless ...we have already lost one of the better ones last week.

3.Worked on half an hour (left half hour earlier yesterday) and surprisingly traffic wasn't too bad at that time.....sang my heart out to Abba in my only bit of traffic jam :)

4.Enjoyed a walk in the warm fresh air to the post office, where the staff are always helpful and just caught the postie!

5.Popped into DD1's shop , to say hello and did NOT buy chocolate :)That was very mse ....as usually I do!

6.Quick chat with my sister who luckily for me, time difference wise is on holiday this week , so I've been able to call her at decent times for me!

7.Going to finish watching Casualty on youtube and iron at same time!

8.Sitting in my wee office, at my desk, watching the blackbirds have their tea and now an almost full moon is out.

    Okay , off to iron....have a lovely day :)

Trumped a littel early, Tiger was in this morning, bat caged, off to vets. Put on a show again. Has got an attackj of the Side Flies. These invisible blighters that make him juimp top one side. he is ok and the wobbleade fund has been shrunk to pay for the Vet.

3 Nebby neighbour has been banned from computer shop at last, really upset his helper boy. Was asked by owner, I needed new lead for Saturday, that he wanted to knock his block off. Join the queue pal, it is pretty long. Still, seems on anotehr score he has dug his hole. Problem is he upset Ms Sonny and threw he off on Saturday, causing us grief. Still fixed that, but the guy, in the peoples of my favourite monarch, Nora, King of the Foes, he can just

1 Gone, not distinctions. They are all the same at last, no rest now, even for the wicked. Open all day, everyday. Work Work Work. Years of fighting for a 40 hour week by our grandfathers, now lorries plough along Motorwys on Sundays, to fill the emporiums with sparkle nonesenses.

    Good evening all!

Kittikins - thank you x I would never begrudge paying my N.I as I have been in an MRI scanner at least 20 + times ! About £800 + a pop??? I aint gonna moan as they save a lot of lives even if it feels like being squeezed into a noisy toilet roll holder :rotfl:

VJsmum- Don't fret I eat chickens but not my pets ;)

    a few for today

    1. Seventh anniversary of my Dad's death . Went to the crem. to put down flowers and see book of remembrance. There is a book there for people to write in and my Mum and sister had written their entries before mine which was a bit emotional.

    2. Kindle book

    3. Take away for a change !

Have a good evening all !

    Evening all.

    1) NSD - that's the third one this week. :money: (And a good thing too as my car had its MOT yesterday - luckily it passed! :j)

    2) Ordered my train ticket for the trip up to Birmingham. I'm a bit miffed that they wouldn't let me go via the route I'd have chosen, but as it's a free ticket I suppose I can't complain too much.

    3) Received my £10 online voucher for another train company, so that's another cheap train journey at some point. :money:

    4) After a bit of an argument I managed to persuade Amaz0n to refund the full price of a poor quality product, rather than charging me a horrendous price for return postage as they initially intended.

    5) Paralympics opening ceremony tonight - hooray for being back to daily sport! :D

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    2. Friendly kitchen fitter came and will email me a quote later in the week....

    3. Got a text to say my heating oil is going to be delivered tomorrow.

    4. A friend who usually works in the London office came to mine today, so we had a good chat

    5. Lovely email offering help from my church home group

    6. Booked myself in to open day at one of the unis I want to apply to

    7. Lovely chats with a chirpy DD on the phone :)

    8. Exchanged emails with a friend I've not seen in ages, hope she'll come down to see us soon

    9. Looking forward to the Paralympics opening ceremony :)

CCP - do you eat the pods of the borlotti beans? I have grown some but don't know what to do with them

Sorry, I've just remembered that you asked me a question! :o I don't know if you can eat the pods or not, tbh - I've grown them for drying to use over the winter - the pods dry out on the plant then you can take out the beans and put them away. Having said that, I've only got half a dozen pods so it won't be much of meal! ;)

    Strange day.

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Took the boys to an indoor soft play area.

    3) Had our picnic lunch in the car (it was raining) watching the trains.

    4) Went to B and Q which made me more determined to get some kitchen units from Ebay! The ones at B and Q were all knocked about too, with the packaging burst open.

    5) Made a Greek tea with smaller son (part of his homework). http://greekfood.about.com/od/appetizerssalads/r/spetzofai.htm Also threw in some pitta breads, olives and feta. Had Greek yoghurt for pudding, had run out of inspiration by then!

Don't know what to do about OH. Feel quite sad. Perhaps it is a man thing? I have no men to check with! Perhaps it is a "I went to boarding school for most of my formative years" thing - I don't know anyone else who didn't go to a comp to compare. He just seems so unbothered about things - and me. So I've pushed him (a bit) and he just turns my statements round into weird rhetorical questions and never offers up what he is thinking. It's actually freaking me out a bit. (e.g "I've not met a single one of your friends although we've been going out for over a year. I wonder if you're ashamed of me?" and I get back "So you think I am ashamed of you?" Er, yes, that's why I said it! Everything is just getting batted back at me with a bit of sarcasm attached so no headway is being made at all). I wish there was someone who could even just read the texts I've received from him recently and tell me if I'm imagining it all or not.

We are supposed to be in Wales with him now (he went on Saturday, is coming home on Friday, as far as I know). He hasn't even asked where we are!

He's also said he won't consider moving house or leaving his job (ever) and I might like to move in with him once his children have left home. Which will be 10 years from now. I've already been by myself for nearly 8 years. Am I really heartless for not wanting to be myself for 18 years?

mhagster glad your OH is home again. Hope he relaxes and doesnt overdo it

Chickenopolis (((hugs)))to you on your day of remembrance of your DDad

Frith (((hugs))) to you too... sorry I dont have any advice or words of wisdom, I've never understood men (which is probably why it was such a shock when ex-husb left me :rotfl:)

....I dont think you are being unreasonable in wanting more love and affection....... but maybe he thinks at least he has laid it out for you... only you can decide if thats enough. There may be someone else out there for you, but who knows. I have been on my own for 10 years (DS is now 17) partly through choice (I think I'm too choosy :o) and partly because I never met anyone I liked enough (or who liked me enough !) that I wanted to share my home or life with.... and sometimes its lonely

    Anyway, for today

    1. Lovely sunrise this morning (before rain came)
    2. Stomach ache late morning and off my food. Ate the only thing I fancied.... a burger from the shop with the golden arches :o so much for my diet ! (Havent eaten anything else today so maybe not too bad)
    3. lounged around watching tv
    4. friend came round for coffee and chat and we took a trip to BnQ, but I didnt spend anything :D
    5. Have arranged to meet friends sat night either for bite to eat or stay in with bottle of wine havent decided which yet.

    nite x

Chicken - <<hugs>> Not a day goes by where I don't think of my mum.
Frith - I don't know either. They are a strange breed.
Sonny - I think I might take to Nora, King of the Foes :rotfl:

Am grumpy as hell tonight, maybe TOTM, might just be that I am miserable mare ;). Have so much to do, I am feeling overwhelmed and therefore can't be #r$ed to do anything. I can't even be bothered to watch the opening ceremony. Kids are getting on my t!ts - one is throwing a strop cos he has to go back to his 10 minutes maths a night and the other is singing at the top of her voice. usually it is nice but tonight it is irritating me.

    No time, no time.

    5 for today

    1. conservatory done and is lovely. My arm and leg are missing but it was a beautifully done job and I am glad we went with a reputable, well established company
    2. Lovely coffee with friend - though it would have been nice to have had it "sans enfants".
    3. Found out that the £20 voucher I paid £10 for in December expired in March. That will teach me - the pleasure is that DDs ipod she wanted as her exam reward (!!!!!!? All I got was "well done!") was £25 cheaper in A$da than elsewhere and came with a £15 itunes voucher so I feel somewhat redeemed
    4. Pasta aubergine bake for tea
    5. Finally finished my external examiners report and can claim my fee

HOpe you are all having a better, happier evening than me.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening

    Chicken - Hugs
VJsmum - Hope you have a better day tomorrow

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Paid money back into my savings account that OH had given me towards our holiday.
    2. Call from milk and more offering my a free bottle of milk or juice for the next 4 weeks. As not big milk drinkers in our house opted for the juice.
    3. Lovely friend at work who gave me a lift home at lunch time so I could get changed after the stupid (may need swear filter here) person in a huge 4x4 driving very quickly swerved into a huge puddle soaking me from head to foot. Just as well he didn't stop as I may have done some damage to him or his car. Needless to say I was not impressed.
    4. Discovering a parcel hidden in the garden which we think had been there for quite a few weeks. It was something I was supposed to trial for a survey but the deadline has gone now so won't get paid but at least I have the free product to use.
    5. Quick easy spag bol for dinner but everyone ate it and enjoyed

Hugs to all who need them
