    Afternoon all.

mcculloch - I must admit I can't see it with Peter - I guess he's just not my type. :undecided I love these series, though, so I'm really looking forward to the new one.

mhags - huge hugs to you and yours - I hope everything sorts itself out soon.

giddynici - you'll be in the next county when you visit your parents, then - I'll wave across the border at you!

    DD - happy birthday!

I've made the most of the bank holiday and had a lazy sort of day today, with one exception:

    1) NSD (as was yesterday, now I think of it :money:).

    2) Spent an hour or so trawling around the internet trying to work out where I'm going to go when I visit Birmingham next month. There's so many interesting options that it's been really hard to choose, but I think I've decided on a rough itinerary now, at least until someone mentions somewhere else that sounds worth seeing!

    3) Entered a whole load of competitions, which is rare for me as I usually get bored too quickly to be a dedicated comper. :o

    4) Finally got round to painting the bathroom door, which I've been meaning to do for months. :o I haven't made a bad job of it, except for one panel which will need re-doing - I was chatting to my DF on the phone and he reckons someone has used cheap paint on that panel which is why mine won't stick properly - it's good to know it's nothing I've done wrong, anyway.

    5) Picked my first HG borlotti beans - all two of them (two beans, not two pods! :rotfl:).

    6) I've now got the US Open tennis clonking away in the background - I figure that, if I'm going to spend all this money on a 5ky subscription, I might as well use it!

    7) Making a loaf of tomato bread using some bread mix which I bought in bulk and then found I didn't much like :o - I hope the tomatoes will drown the taste of the bread a bit.

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Poor Mr Mhagster, hope he gets good treatment and is back home happy soon xx
  • Hi guys,

Hope your all enjoying the bank holiday ... So mine for the past few days are ...

    1. OH is back!!! So pleased to have him back home ... Really missed him!

    2. Went into town today - was very OS and shopped around - yes it took longer but saved about £25.00 - which is always a bonus.

    3. Making OH's fav for dinner - HM mac and cheese with BBQ ribs and corn on the cob - too much faff in my eyes but he loves it.

    4. NSD yesterday - more money to stick in the pot.

    5. Looking forward to a chilled night, and spending some much needed "us" time with the OH.

    Have a good one guys

    xxx
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life......until I go and buy something!

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday DD ... :bdaycake: Not bad scheduling a birthday for late August - even if it isn't a bank holiday in Scotland. :D

    Good evening all !

mhagster ((hugs)) to you all . I hope that your DH makes a speedy recovery x

Mcculloch - thank you for the reminder.I would have been happy to live in the Tales from the Green Valley House . Very informative - I know what a midden looks like now ! I am not too keen on the woman (Ruth) I don't know what it is , the guys are very gentle with the livestock especially the heavy horses. Do you remember a programme in the 70's where people actually lived on a saxon settlement - fascinating the women were washing their hair in clay I believe.

    5 for today

    1. Weather was pleasant .

    2. Spent the day pulling out cauliflower that had bolted in the raised beds. It took me hours when others could do it in 5 minutes :D

    3. Hens took the opportunity to spend the afternoon having dust baths in the cleared raised beds luxuriating in the sunshine.

    4. rtc curry with hm dahl and rice

    5. Got a voucher for some free choc. chip cookies and OH has eaten enough of a certain brand of chocolate for me to redeem a free cinema ticket .

    Have a good evening all!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Chicken - I remember that Saxon programme, so glad I don't live in those times!!

    1. Lovely cuddles with DD as she slept in my bed last night :)

    2. Great card games with DD, mummykins, and bro :)

    3. Have found some flooring companies to call up tomorrow

    4. Good drive back home, if a little lonely without DD....*sigh*

    5. Bought some cheapy essentialish clothes in the Sainsburgs' 25% off sale...

    6. Came away with some new to me furniture, some old toys to try and sell and naughty daddikins made a contribution to my petrol costs!! (But very gratefully received....)

    7. Currently watching WW2 dig programme, very interesting.

    8. Got home to new film from Lurvefillum, must remember to cancel subscription soon, not least because I've now spent my £20 voucher :)

    9. Also was very happy to see my new wind up LED lantern has arrived - another weapon in my war against rising electriciy bills this winter!

    What a day!

Constant rain means the house is tidy. So here are my pleasures:

    1) Turned out the boys' bedroom, changed beds, washed the corrugated lids of the toy boxes (all thick with dust!), hoovered, did my room etc. 3 loads of washing!

    2) Cleared out paperwork boxes that live under my bed. Found the court order drawn up for the ex so I now know when the boys are seeing him at half term because....

3).... sister is organising a holiday for us all (mum, dad, she, brother and we 3) and needed to know when sons could go!

    4) Brother came for tea and is upstairs having a massive NERF gun fight with sons.

    Only 4 for today. :-(

Wrote to OH last night stating a few things that I am not very happy about. The main one being that he never seems particularly bothered about things I find really rather important. Also, I don't think he wants me to join him on holiday, although that is not one of the important things. Well, I'm sure I am over sensitive, was a bit blunt etc but I definitely did not write anything untrue and I don't think I wrote anything wrong.

One or two of the things, an apology would have been nice. Or "how shall we do things differently?" Sadly, I got a string of texts starting with denial and feigned surprise then ending with what I had written was ridiculous and a rather rude word that I can't type here. :-(

He never, ever apologises and never says that he might possibly be wrong.

Well, we (me and sons) had something organised for the holiday-we-will-no-longer-be-going-on. (OH has been there 3 days already and it seems I am an optional extra). So later this week, we'll pop into Wales and do the activity we had planned. Pah.

And happy birthday, DD! Hope you have had a good one.
  • mhags - ((hugs)) to you and healing get well wishes to your OH.

giddynici - it seems you'll be "neighbours" with quite a few of us :D

Funny day today really.... CBA and feeling down in dumps even though I've nothing to complain about really. (Apart from noisy oiks walking home from pub at 3am waking me up :( )

    For most of day

    1.lounged on sofa
    2. read a book
3.caught up on some recorded tv
    4.ate lots of junk
