Frith (((hugs))) kids always seem to know your "weak spots" and I went through something similar with my DS who would have no hesitation at "sticking the knife in" (but I didnt handle it very well) so I feel for you. Glad you can still find pleasures and your family seem supportive x
Sonny ... One small step
DundeeDoll have a great time in lyon and happy birfday for monday
Day of two halves yesterday
1. Torrential rain cleared about 10.30 so went for a walk along the foreshore and common, then around the pond. There are lots of ripe blackberries on the common so I am going again today armed with lots of tubs to collect some
2. stuck to healthy eating up until tea time
3. started decorating hallway and managed 2 walls
Then had a massive row with DS and went down hill from there.

Good morning all, hope everyones ok.
I have read your posts but not posted as not a lot of time this week due to exchange student coming and the need to deep clean and finish clearing his room out. Mind you, it does look good now
Anyway, here goes...
1. finally got some sort of answer at my temporary job on which days I am working. Only two half days and one full day but its better than nothing and realised I won't be paying tax on my salary so that was good news.

Hello, Sunday evening here, need to turn my mind to cooking some dinner but will post my pleasures first!
I've had a rather pleasant day:
1. Had to work this morning for 4 hours, will get a day off in lieu. We were so not busy it was a doddle!
2.Sat and listened to a fab band and ate a free sandwich.
3.dashed around supermarket, everything I normally buy were all on offer! Couldn't believe it as I went from one to another! Then used a $15 loyalty voucher, topped up my phone and got 10% , so quite chuffed with my lot
4.dashed home, picked up DD2 and we went to a Tupperware party at my friend's house. We had a lovely afternoon and 'won' lots of little things in Tupperware bingo....5 things each! Friend is a lovely baker so had to have some of her yummy carrot cake and Portugese custard tarts! Made a point of not spending too much as it's blooming expensive but bought 2 things that I will use. DD2 had a fun afternoon....for one so young at a Tupperware party
5.Home......aaaaaah, nice to sit down after being on the go since 7am! Washing was almost dry on the line, washing machine is behaving itself again at the moment! Have been looking online with DS about Uni courses, we will have to pay an absolute fortune ($25,000 a year) to send him.....this is a staggering amount but due to the visa we are on that's how much it costs!
Major belt tightening ahead methinks!
Have the loveliest day & Dundeedoll have an amazing birthday!0 -
Afternoon all.
1) Smoked salmon on HM bread for brunch.
2) Gave the skirting boards a much-needed clean using a tip picked up from, of all places, the crime novel I'm currently reading - the hero's mother is a professional cleaner and the author obviously spoke to some real cleaners to pick up some authentic methods. (The trick is to swirl a damp mop along the tops, then leave the resulting balls of fluff to dry so you can just vacuum them up. It works, too! :T)
3) Had a mini harvesting session in the garden - I've got an aubergine, a courgette, two bulbs of garlic (one of which is actually a pretty decent size), and three pods of mushy peas.
4) Watching the athletics - it must be a bit frustrating competing against Mo Farah as all the other athletes ever get to see is his rapidly vanishing back!
5) An advance pleasure - I'm going to turn my courgette and aubergine into some ratatouille for dinner tonight. :j
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all!
Frith ((hugs)) to you .
Mcculloch - I am really hoping that Sir Henry is around to see Frankel race in October . Joseph O'Brien is tall as was Lester whose diet was champagne and cigars , I believe.
5 for yesterday
1. OH banked some change taking my brother's 50p's for his 50th birthday fund up to £240.We need to think about organising something really!
2. OH went shopping as I felt rough
3. Told OH I was going to make him a "Dumpster Dinner" basically scraps turned in to a feast etc. The bread was too mouldy (even for my standards) so used a fruit loaf to make a bread and butter pudding . We also had pasta with a tomato, cheese, onion and garlic sauce and crusty bread. We haven't had a take away for while .
4. Saw a derelict property advertised in Scotland on a half acre plot that is enticing me to buy it....
5. Pirates of the Caribbean still makes me laugh especially the ghost pirates..
5 for today
1. Showed my Mum the derelict property on the internet and she liked it (Shock horror).
2. Picked some blackberries with Lexie the hen underfoot - she is now purple ,greedy bird:rotfl:
3. Made a blackberry and apple crumble for tea.
4. OH cooking steak for us for tea.
5. Had a power nap this afternoon.
Have a good evening all:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
DundeeDoll Happy Birthday in advance in case I am not posting tomorrow!
Lots of pleasures today:
1 - Lovely fry-up breakfast in bed courtesy of DH
2 - My first bike ride in YEARS! I can still do it (even if a bit wobbly)!
3 - DS was really sweet and caring, he accompanied me on my bike ride and gave me lots of loving encouragement.
4 - Bought apples at the Farmers Market, new season, organic, very cheap (for organic apples) and delicious. Enough for the week.
5 - Allotment visit, DH was already there digging up some weeds. I picked up quite a bit of veg and salad for the next couple of days.
6 - Having dinner at friends' home. Looking forward to seeing them as we haven't seen them for a while, even though they are close neighbours.
Have a good evening all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
pleasures for today
1. Lovely sunny day, towels and bedding washed and dried on washing line
2. "fry-up" for lunch. 1 slice bacon fat removed & grilled, egg & mushrooms cooked with spray of 1 cal, 1/2 jacket potato sliced, baked beans. nom nom
3. made some banana "ice cream".
Still trying to lose weight but love ice cream and chocolate.I saw this recipe on grocery thread and only contains frozen bananas blitzed in blender, but texture very much like ice cream and much less calories and fat
4. lovely walk... about 55 mins. Feeling much fitter since I started walking and can now walk and breathe through my nose so no huffing and puffing or swallowing flies
5. DS on his best behavior all day, why does it take a big arguement and threats of sending him to live with his dad0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗

1. Lovely morning, blue sky with pink clouds when I got up. Had a lovely potter around the garden, with Doggins for company, before breakfast.
2. Walked through park to church.
3. Enjoyed service, said hello to 4 friends, sang 2 of my favourite hymns.
4. Skyped daughter who has just booked flight to come home for 3 weeks at Christmas (havent seen her for 3 years!)
5. OS pudding after chicken dinner - slice of sponge cake with juicy raspberries and cream on top. Delish!0 -
1. Went swimming with DH and DS, they opened the flume and DS and I went on it
it was like being on holiday again.
2. Reduced multi-packs of mini Smarties at the corner store, need I say more?
3. Found out the "intruder" that pops our outside light on but can never be seen is a mummy hedgehog and babies.
4. Got away with not cooking at all today, yay!
5 - and for what I am most grateful - the poor little terrified starling that accidentally flew in to my hall way and dining room while I was at the neighbours delivering eggs and vegetables, managed to avoid crapping blackberries over any of our coats - despite having managed to do it everywhere else. Everywhere else doesn't matter, that'll all wash, lol (though I think the table cloth's had it).
Sweet dreams folks, bath, icecream & smarties and bed for us.
