Getting tired now. Here are my pleasures.

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Went to the local park and took the scooters.

    3) Went up to the steam railway afterwards (still with scooters) and watched a train pulling in.

    4) Sainsburys - got 2 pots of cous cous and 1 pot of hoummus - all reduced to 10p! Also some bread rolls for the freezer down to 24p.

    5) School friend came round for tea and hasn't long gone.

How cute Beetlemama that you have a hedgehog family :)

    1. Low spend day - had to go to nearest town to parents to get ingredients for b'day cake for daddikins and bought myself lots of veggies for 10p per pack, nomnomnom. (Am going home tomorrow)

    2. DD and I roadtested a church which was more 'us' than the village one, so we have a new place to visit when staying with my parents. Seal of approval from us both :)

    3. DD made amazing cake :):)

    4. Have ordered C'mas present for my bro, using some of my Amaz*n voucher

    5. Daddikins was very happy with his early b'day presents, bro has come down as well, so he was treated early :)

    Hey everyone!

Crazy busy few days so haven't managed to get on. Thanks Skint and CCP for your kind words. CCP I'm going to be living in Kent but will be in Sussex a lot as my parents are there.

Mhagster I hope your OH feels a bit better soon. Sending positive get well wishes.

Some pleasures for the last few days (not sure I'll get many as I've been snowed under at work)

1 - Although it's been knackering work has been busy and exciting.

2 - Wedding invite from a friend and it's just before I move so I'll be fine to go.

3 - Getting kisses from my friends nephew. He turned 1 in June and is just the cutest little guy ever.

4 - Random eats to use up the food in the cupboards. Also taking in sweets to work as so many are sitting there still from Christmas!!

5 - Lovely texts from lovely people.

6 - Totally appreciating the awesome team I work with. They make it fun and I'm going to miss them lots.

    7 - It's only 3 days until holidays!!!!

Hello all - I is back from me ollidis. No more for a while, though a couple of work trips coming up.

    Happy Birthday DD
Loads of messages to catch up with!
Mhags, glad you are feeling better,
Frith - kids are horrid sometimes aren't they?
Caterina - well done on getting back on a bike. I love it and wish I could have done more of it last week. Especially after my chaotic midnight ride in the dark after more wine than I should have had :o
Beetlemania - well done with the starling. I am not very keen on birds at the best of times.

    For the last few days

    1. The badger that got into our awning didn't do too much damage, just attacked a rubbish bag. Our fault for leaving it in there. Gave DD, who was in a tent next door, a fright though! :D
    2. DD helped OH pack up and take down the awning, leaving me to pack up inside. The whole lot was much quicker as a result.
    3. Meal out for DD's results was really nice - and not too pricey
    4. Nice walk with OH while kids went crabbing. Crabs not really biting though.
    5. OH's old friend dropped by for a coffee and a talk (tho they could have waited till I'd got dressed - but they had to put up with me in my pyjamas!). OH and I been married over 20 years and the first time I met friend was last year! He and his wife are rather cool and a bit hippy and kind of what I'd like to be.
    6. Playing Pooh sticks with the kids - nice to know they aren't too old for silly things llike that
    7. Meeting "Sam" a little boy on the camp site who is 5 years old and swears like a trooper. Not good really, but his "Bwuddy hell!" is quite funny :p
    8. Traditional "end of holiday" takeaway curry for tea - with lots left for the freezer :T
    9. Nice dinner with friends - and their friends - on Saturday. Lots of wine and a great conversation about camberwick green, trumpton and chigley. Which is funny when DundeeDoll (above) was singing "time flies by.."
    10. DS has finished his "Navvies" on the railway. YOu are supposed to Navvy from 10 - 13. DS has been doing it since he was 6 and is the longest serving Navvy ever. At the end of the week he was the only one there and the organiser (who gives his own time to do it) said "Thanks, J, for your work this week". Apparently DS said "Well thank you for navvies". Organiser got a lump in his throat and so did I when I heard, cos DS is a cheeky little so and so at times but we must have done something right. Organiser then arranged (organised! :p) DS to have a footplate trip on the steam engine. DS is 14 next year and can finally become a proper volunteer.

Strange busy day today. FN (fave niece) gone home already :( She is a lovely girl and loves coming with us. She doesn't have the easiest home life so I like to take her, I will miss her. Much as I love my sister, she does ask a lot of FN.

So the house is a bomb site, the washing is piling up, the garden needs attention, I have a pile of work for upcoming Korea trip, shopping needs doing, some curtains need making for an investment property, which also needs some other bits done (but does finally have tenants - phew).

    Have a lovely day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

We also have a vegetarian fox, we've got a coop full of chickens at the end of the garden but he comes in every night and digs up carrots, what? lol

    my early morning pleasures:
up at 5am, went into work to set up, saw a fox, a beautiful starfilled sky, then a lovely sunny start to day, hung out a washing, made porridge for breakfast.

Then had to take OH to hospital where he has been admitted. Condition worsened overnight & I thought we can't go on like this, so very kindly GP saw us though we didn't have an appointment, took a taxi as I won't drive in city and it wasn't as expensive as usual, seen & admitted straight away and once started on appropriate treatment he started to feel a bit better. Had to say bye though & leave him there :(

Couldn't justify a taxi home, would have been quicker but I just couldn't do it! Walked to station and only had 5 minutes to wait for our train!

    Have a good one :)

Hope that OH gains strength in hospital, gets his tummy sorted and that you can get some proper rest, Mhagster.

    1. More sport on TV - athletics this time!

    2. Lovely chat with DSis on phone. She has a problem with her back teeth at the moment, caused by her cancer treatment, they think, I braced myself for some 'Why Me's?', but it didn't happen.
She is very, very highly strung and really coped with her cancer very well indeed all things considered. Prior to the cancer, phone calls were all about her health and how it was unfair that she should be experiencing XYZ that week. Now, post-cancer, conversations are different....

    3. Finished my book 'Follow The Money' and looking forward to reviewing it on Amazon.

    4. The Victorian/Edwardian farm team are back with 'Wartime Farm'. Starts Sept 6th, Beeb 2. I hope there's a book... I found I had over £30 of survey points so converted them to Amazon vouchers and this would be great as a read for autumn evenings. Edwardian Farm was a super read.
I can also sigh a little over Peter Ginn when he's back on the box. It feels slightly wrong as he's about the same age as my daughter and was also born in Germany.... :o However, I know I am not alone, I have seen several forums where the fanciability of the lovely action man Peter vs the get -out- of - anything -that - looks - like -hard -work- Alex has been much discussed.
Anyone ever watch 'Tales from the Green Valley?' That had our heroes running a farm in the 17th C., along with others. Peter was 'Fonz' back then.

    5. Just had an email to say the step I've ordered for the bathroom is on its way. The bath is really high and climbing in to with an arthritic hip to use the over bath shower is a bit of a task. I have proper grab handles fitted to help as well so this will be a cheaper alternative to a walk - in shower for a while. I hope.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
