OT so sorry to hear about the lappy, we will miss you and your lovely posts, hope you can come back to us really soon
DD if Edinburgh and Dundee were just that bit closer I'd buy you a coffee on Sat. 'Nuther time, perhaps
Caterina 'they' say the best things in life are free, sounds like your weekend will be the best of everything
mcculloch I do agree, I'll be watching as much as I can. Whatever will we all do when the last of the games is over?!
1. After yesterday's walking, stairs etc., I ache in places I didn't know I had, so it was a pleasure to give myself a day off from the gym. Don't often feel like not going but I don't think I could have rowed/walked/biked a yard today
2. Bedding ironed and back on the bed ready for next visitors. House generally cleaned/tidied, just the kitchen floor to do and case to pack before I go to bed
3. Long text conversation with a friend this evening - on and off over a period of 4 hours! - whose husband is a keen angler. She's going to arrange for us all to go fishing which will be another item to cross off my bucket list
4. nsd/npd
5. Gave DS and his OH a bag of perishables when they went home yesterday, and managed to use up the rest for meals today so nothing left in the fridge which can go off
Have a sunny weekend whatever the weather0 -
PK - Good luck for today
Sparrer - Have a great holiday, York Minister is beautiful.
VJsmum - Well done to your DD, amazing results.
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Exam results for DD, she has come so far in the last couple of years thanks to a fantastic SEN. Even managed a B in one subject so was very happy but most importantly she got the results she needed to get on the course she wanted which according to the college is very unual for someone with her level of Dyslexia so another set of very proud parents yesterday.
2. Even if it took several hours DD is now enrolled at college and CRB checks filled in just need to sort out her bus pass so she gets half price bus travel to college. If we had lived in the next town it would have been free, never mind where we live is much nicer.
3. Yummy takeaway for dinner to celebrate washed down with DD's favourite tipple of Prosecco.
4. Lots of lovely good wishes for DD from family and friends
5. My lovely niece being offered a job that she is really excited about in Geneva. While I will miss her not beong so close by am very pleased for her.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Gosh bit slow today, is there Holiday on its way? Yippe, wobbleades and barbies all round. Uggs to all who got their GCSESASA or whatever it is now, Tried Sis yesterday to check Niece, but thinks shes dun well as they were out. Also seems all those puss E cats are recovering, ours has got an attack of side flies. His tail seems to wrap around his body and he tries to trap it. Problem is everytime he makes a move, the tail move. Silly little fokker (an old aerospace company).
5 Hole load taken to dump. Now that is dun, the car washed, Fire Alarm batteries changed, they pinged last week, so ran on only one for a day or two SO CHECK YOURS. Ours are electric and are due replacement in April 2014, SO CHECK YOURS. The element does burn out after about 15 years. They are dated. Also changed battery in Ms Sonny's toy.
4 Dun Shopiing and MS Sonny does make sure that thsoe discounts are applied. Good lass that, also no problem when I snooks in an extra wobbleade and some choccy.
3 Superb shard lunch with Ms Sonny of Dogs and Snogs.
2 Quiz nite later so pens etc at the ready.
1 I kept running along the shore, but all the time I saw my footprints were toes. Surely I was wearing my sandals, but I could see the lights now. I am sure that I had run all this way, but the lights wer far and then near. It was like some welcome, with wafts of the beach. Fresh donuts and candy floss. Toasted peanuts and teh giggles of fun. But as I approached, I realised it was ,,,

3. Yummy piece of cake in a cafe with parents and DD this afternoon
4. Cuddles with DD
5. Emails with OH, no phone reception so keeping in touch the only way possible!
6. Nice wine.....
7. Very helpful people in a tile shop, and have found the most amazing tiles for my kitchen........shame they're £78 psqm, why do I always fall in love with the most expensive thing in the shop?!?
Off to the Swedish mega shop tomorrow to look at kitchens, my redundancy will be spent before I even have it at this rate!0 -

An excellent idea. :T I changed the batteries in mine a couple of weeks ago, when it started bleeping irritably at me. I get like that when I'm hungry, too.
Tealady - very well done to your DD. :T I hope she enjoys her college course.
sparrer - have a fantastic time. I love York - it's probably my favourite English city - and would very much like to visit Edinburgh, although possibly not during the festival as I'm not good with large crowds of people.
giddynici - best of luck with the move. You'll be in good company - there's quite a lot of us down here, particularly around the south coast if you're coming this far south.
It's been an expensive day today - I finally got round to ordering a replacement key for my car, for which I was charged £170 , and I realised my car is overdue for its MOTso I've had to book that for the start of next week, too. It's a good thing I've got well-stocked store cupboards, as I'm not going to have much money left after that!
1) Tried on a new pair of shoes and they were instantly comfy, so I wore them to work and they stayed comfy all day, which is very unusual for me. I think I might order myself another pair, in a different colour, when I get paid at the end of the month.
2) Managing not to lose my temper at the lack of consideration shown by another department: I have to remind myself that getting angry with them is like getting angry with a cat - they don't notice, so all you do is raise your own blood pressure.
3) I noticed that B00ts were doing one of their bonus points events, so I took advantage of lots of other offers so I was just over the minimum spend, and got lots of useful things at a decent discount. :money:
4) My sister has cancelled her planned visit this weekend: obviously I'm disappointed I won't see her but, given the dreadful weather that's forecast for the weekend, she might be better off staying at home, tbh.
5) Chilli cheese burger and a glass or two of wobbleade for dinner - well, it is a bank holiday!
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all !
OT - you will be missed x
PK- I hope that your day at work was not too horrendous! Enjoy your break in The C. of. L
CCP- (aka Wiki) ThanksI take it that you do not like swans??
Mcculloch - Re Sir Henry Cecil .. I thought that tooI was "brought up" on Cauthen/Cecil ,Swinburn/Stoute and Asmussen/Cumani diet.:D
Tealady - well done to your DD !
5 for today
1. Looked after my Mum's dog for the day as she went out with my brother (The Prodigal) and his children for the day.I love having her here and she will bark her head off if left on her own at my Mum's.
2. Got washing in just at it started to rain heavily.
3. Filled out two surveys for a product I am trialling and got some Mr.T points for doing so.
4.Fakeaway takeaway of chicken chow mein .
5. Knowing that the depraved fanatic Anders Breivers (sp?) is behind bars for a long time ...
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
