Sorry, I've just remembered that you asked me a question! :o I don't know if you can eat the pods or not, tbh - I've grown them for drying to use over the winter - the pods dry out on the plant then you can take out the beans and put them away. Having said that, I've only got half a dozen pods so it won't be much of meal! ;)
You can eat the pods when they are very young, while they are still green, but they get quite tough very quickly. I grow them for the beans. You can cook the beans when hey are fresh, too, no need to soak.

    Mine for today:

    1. Did not go to Zumba but made up by having a fast hilly walk this evening

    2. Met with DH for coffee at lunchtime

    3. Got an amazing stash of butter that was very reduced, so I cleared the shelf and now it is in my freezer!

    4. Received a book from he library that I thought would take a lot longer o arrive

    5. Helped DH to fix the roof of the wood shed.

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Mhags so pleased to hear your DH is home
    (((Chicken)))
VJsmum I only sought out one or two extra places to visit wherever we went, the tour company arranged the main itinerary :)

    1. Almost a back-to-normal day, loved every minute
    2. Lots of fruit and veg in my meals, eating out is nice but restaurants tend focus more on the meat element of the meal which can get a bit tedious after a few days
    3. Tidied the garden, did the edges, dead-headed what needed it, just cleared everything away and down came the rain. Good timing :D
    4. Almost a nsd, til the nice man who cleans my waste bin every month called for his £2. Money well spend, especially in Summer - well a normal Summer anyway!
    5. Watching the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, missed the Olympics one but from what I've heard about it this one is possibly somewhat better

    Night night, sweet dreams :)

Mhags my dad finished his cancer treatment about 4months ago and wasnt prepared for feeling so bleuh after. Totally wiped out. Takes a while i think to build strength back
Cat have fun at the open days
    Hugs to frith and chicken
Vjsmum hope you found your missing limbs (?!)
Back from lyon. Yesterday's five come from the journey back
    1) walking to get bus to train station to get tram to airport (cheaper than taxi thought we should show willing) friend sitting at pavement cafe told us tram broken down but he and anther colleague were getting a taxi an hour later :T so we sat and had a wine
    2) arrived at terminal to discover flight delayed due to 2nd world bomb being found at schipol  70 years it lies there and has to be discovered that day :rotfl: but hour delay allows thunder storm to clear
    3) get to schipol with 50 mins for connection and more staff on passport control so make the connection, albeit wihout time for mooching (or a cuppa :()
    4) get stopped at scanner due to container of dodgy white powder  fortunately it is next to my kettle and teabags and my interogator herself is a coffee addict an understands the need for travelling with powdered milk
    5) bag doesnt make connection (schipol also had a suspecte terrorist incident as well so flights all a bit of a mess) this time there is someone at the desk so i get my number. Bit worried my taxi will have given up on me. But no, there he is holding up my name. Mispelt but with Dr :D never had that at an airport. So despite lost luggage (awkward heavy ba$tard containing conference stand stuff) a happy ending
Going in late this morning :D

5 New entry at 5, Cat is not got Lueklemia, so on power pills plus lots of Ms Sonny cuddles galore. Little runt he is. No, me has to feed him pills, Ms Sonny sits and laps!

4 Channel 4 coverage, is that red fluorescent table real? Puit the sport on, I am not interested in your comments. Bored.

3 Snoggles in Back rose of Kinema tonites and a wobbleade and train journeys home I think. Problem is film list is carp. Batman, no Ms Sonny says tooooooo gearish nowadays. So maybe a pizza at Double Six and a flagon of ales.

2 That will be mis Sonny settled then.

1 So what are the values of things then, it was better before was it not. Every one was happy! Strange book on the rounds at our place, seems to question certain aspects. it will make yyou look at things in anew lite. And to think he was the biggest bar steward the world has ever known!
Not there at the beginning, accompnaied at the Inn and on the first visit to the big city. But gone well before we get to the nitty gritty.

    Evening all.

    1) Watching a peregrine falcon swooping and soaring over the office car park. Sadly the only other person in the office who would appreciate the sighting is currently on leave, so I felt a little sad and lonely standing at the window watching a bird all by myself. :o

    2) Another NSD, at least until I go to the pub quiz later.

    3) BBC R5 coverage of the Paralympics partially filling the gap left by Channel 4's utterly useless website, which won't let me watch anything.

    4) Some nice rumbles and flashes outside, although I hope the storm will stop before I go out.

    5) My favourite pasta dish tonight, with bacon and eggs.

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    1. Sold a huge amount of old lego to a work colleague for her little boy to love and play with :)

    2. Collected a random collection of stuff from a nice person on freegle

    3. Work laptop being silly and overheating so I had to leave work early to let it cool down ;)

    4. OH will be here later :)

    5. DD's leopardskin sleepsuit has arrived - WOW she is going to be the cutest kitty on the block in it!

    6. A book I ordered off Amaz*n for the princely sum of 1p plus postage has arrived, well it was really 'free' as I bought it using a voucher :)

    7. Bro's xmas present of a much smaller book than I was anticipating also arrived, but he asked for it and will like it

    8. Heating oil tanker arrived just before 8am and I had guessed exactly the right amount to fill up my tank. I now laugh in the face of cold weather this winter, Miss Kittikins and I will be snuggly :)

    9. DD's best friend called to chat to her and I passed over my parents' number as I know she will be tickled pink to speak to her BFF.

    10. Am teaching myself crochet, it's not coming naturally, I blame being left-handed......or should that be impatient? Anyway, I shall persevere for a while longer!

    11. Feeling chirpy again today :)

    12. Another day closer to DD coming home :):)

    Good evening all !

Thank you all for your kind words re my Dad.

Kittikins - you are sooooo organised ! You would make a great PA !

Sonny - seems like your Dad had a way with words then !Chip off the old block eh???Glad tiger feet has not got Leukaemia x

VJsmum- I think you need to make a pie with cut out pastry swear words on it . I know that it would make me feel better if I had a carp day! Hope today was better ?

Dundee - cocaine smuggling indeed :rotfl:I meant to ask what did your Dad think of his "gifts of gold" ??

Frith- ((hugs)) to you xx If you don't mind me asking has your OH told you that he loves you ?? or does he "assume" that you know this ?? Sounds as if you need to be told how important you are to him , what he would feel like not having you in his life etc??It would do my head in , I would need to know if I was flogging a dead horse or not.

    6 for today

    1. Went out for the day with OH .

    2. A honey bee had clung on to the outside of passenger window of the car (my side as OH drove the OGV). It stayed there for the 30 odd mile journey , not going too slowly either and it flew off when we parked the car . I am glad I didn't try and remove it as I would probably have damaged it .Still it has a much better postcode now in Royal T.Wells :D

3.OH used his Tast*card to get 50 % off of our meal , all spur of the moment stuff.

4.Put some money in to my savings account and banked some change .

    5. My back did not fare well (just walking a short distance and not carrying anything !!!!!!! ) I thought I was on the mend . So have taken some meds and have a nice hot water bottle on it now and feel kind of sleepy .

    6. My sister emailed me thanking me for a lentil dahl that I had given her. I asked her if she had needed to sleep with the bedroom window open ... she has not yet responded !

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    CCP - ooh I love a storm
Dundeedoll - missing limbs will take a while to recover. So galling to pay a lot for something you already had - even if it did have a whacking great hole in it.
Sonny - glad !!!!! is OK - oh, <<groan>> the swear filter will get that, glad pusscat is OK
Chicken - RTW - there's posh. I am from a less posh part of Kent myself
DD (again) - very nice to not have to carry your bag. And Poor Mike and Vicky :(

Feeling a little chirpier today - but not as chirpy as Kittikins

    1. Work was OK - I got my emails down to 13 by reading, filing, deleting and acting on.
    2. Went to the chinese supermarket. Could have had a field day but had to resist as freezers are full. Still didn't do too bad and, as reported on another thread, did manage to resist the pigs uterus. Is that what they use for Yuk Sung! :rotfl:
    3. kitchen is a little more hygienic
    4. Nice sunny weather with the promise of more to come.
    5. Little walk outside at lunch time.

    Have a good evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
