Morning
hugs to all in need
Pleasures for the last couple of days;
1. Free OJ off the milkman and he didn't deliver at silly o'clock this time
2. £3 in luncheon vouchers arrived in the post and another survey completed for some more :money:
3. Lovely day in London on Saturday with some friends. Scrummy afternoon tea in a very posh London hotel. Voucher bought months ago so felt like a LSD as only had to pay train fare.
4. Laughing lots with friends even if one who is to use Sparrer's words quite high maintenance.
5. Took DD shopping yesterday and spent money that I have saved for the occassion. She was very happy with her purchases.
6. Kingston where we went shopping had a carnival on so listened to lots of live music and saw some amazing costumes and street entertainment.
7. Indulged in some noodles and chicken skewers from one of the food stalls at the carnival and they were yummy.0 -
Just a quick one to say bye, leaving for Italy day after tomorrow and got loads to do so might not be online for a while, see you all back end Sept. ~~~Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

enjoy your trip home Caterina. My computer is playing silly beggars and won't let me post, so here I go again:
1.Petrol had jumped up by 20 cents this morning so I was ever so smug I had filled the tank yesterday.
2.Work wasn't madly busy which made a nice change.
3.Very pleasant day, though I was inside for most off it! I even volunteered to go and empty the bins at work just to get out!!
4.OH had a visit from a colleague today (phew to tidy house!) and he brought him a plie of magazines!
5.Kids had a day off school due to in service day for teachers...so no uniform needed today and they tidied their rooms!
I have caught the cold from Frith .....must have been from that moon we were both looking at! So , I'm in bed already and going to have an early night!
oooh another, "Call the Midwife" started last night, so that's Sundays sorted !0 -
Good morning all !
Tilams -:rotfl: a naked ginger cat !!
Sparrer - nothing wrong with a bit of peroxide it makes me look very Scandinavian ...apparently :rotfl:,but how could he not want to be with YOU ?? Fool !
CCP - well spotted
5 for yesterday
1. Reading most of the day, cuddles with OH on the sofa whilst he watched/snored his way through the grand prix .Rare for me as I am not a cuddly sort of person.
2.Roast chicken dinner , sometimes it is "spot on" and it was yesterday.
3. Mum made a Pavlova. OH ate most of it.
4. Gave my sister the veg. lasagne I had made for her and some eggs.
5.OH caught two lobsters and gave one to Mum and will eat the other one himself.Good as, I don't have to "deal" with despatching, cooking or eating it.
..ooh , all food based then ???
Have a good Monday all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Hey, look - the masthead's gone Paralympic themed! :j Did we do that, or was it sheer coincidence?
Caterina - if you're still reading - have a fantastic time.
Frith / mhags - I've got a nasty sore throat this afternoon, so I've got a horrible feeling I'm coming down with the bug too. That's not usually what they mean by a computer virus...
Back after a very long break!0 -

Good evening all !
Tilams - I am drooling ....
CCP and Frith and Mhagster - get well this instant! Sparrer - I hope that your breathing gets a little easier.
Caterina - have a lovely holiday
5 for today
1. Nice cheery text from my cousin who wanted to pop round after work . I'm not really in the mood as back uncomfortable and I have a strop on about it so I told her this without offending her (I hope).
2. Watching Ellie Simmonds win her heat this morning . She is so "open " and modest about her races, I adore her .
3.Considering going on a cheese making course .. at some point. I fancy giving it a try. Trawled the internet and prices around commence at £130 + at my local college for 1 day .Need to check out if it is not too "physical " for me .
4. Marrow in cheese sauce for tea with err.. fish fingers ,. An odd but surprisingly pleasant combination.
5.Received free cinema ticket as OH eats a lot of chocolate . He needs to eat three more bags to get a ticket for himself.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
1) A Paralympic masthead - a victory for Team 5 OS Pleasures! :j (Well, we can claim it was, anyway!)
2) LO tomato and lentil soup for lunch. Spicy things are always better the next day, I find.
3) Several compliments on my new haircut at work - I hadn't decided whether I liked it or not, but I'm willing to accept the majority view that it looks nice.
4) Had a sudden brainwave over what to have for dinner tonight - it will be a veg, cashew nut and noodle stirfry, an old favourite I haven't had in ages.
5) More Paralympics to watch tonight - it's a shame I missed Ellie's second gold medal, but doubtless there'll be something else good. (It will have to go some to be better than David Weir's gold last night, though - what a race that was!)
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Paralympics
2. Sunshine
3. NSD
4. DD made gingerbread girls this afternoon
5. Bumped into DD's headteacher and he sounds happy to let me come into school for a couple of weeks observing once my job has finished
6. Had a good jam session with DD on our guitars. This I need to get her a new teacher or individual lessons as I agree with my dad that she's not being stretched enough and is getting bored. Wonder how much that will be.....
7. Nice chat with my parents on the phone, they're missing DD like mad, I remember the feeling!
8. DD has gone out for tea at a friend's0
