Morning
Been MIA for a couple of days so just catching up on everyones news.
Pleasures for the last couple of days,
1. Fab day at Ascot, both myself and OH just about broke even so a cheap day out.
2. MIL also enjoyed Ascot which is good as she has been a bit down lately and wasn't going to go.
3. DD having fun at my parents and happy as she is going to get her ears pierced this week. I'm happy as Dad will take her and then make sure they don't get an infection. I do love my dad
4. Bargain wine at Mr.T at the weekend thanks to a little glitch so enjoyed a glass or two on Saturday night.
5. The Olympic opening ceremony, was fab loved the cauldron.
6. Other than grocery shopping didn't spend any other money at the weekend. The cycling closed a lot of the roads in the surrounding area so was easier just to stay in than try to get anywhere.
7. Keeping the ironing and washing basket empty, not sure how long this will last but trying to keep on top of it.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Watching the archery, gone all a quiver. Think it will be beach volleyball next, ladies elimination round.
Oh, seems sparrar has ad a good weekend chin wagging about.
5 Had wired dream about having to cook meat in oven, but to keep it warm, had to string it up with the cat. So duly trussed up cat on top of beef, and wrapped in grease proof paper. Looked so funny and real. Must be the pills I is on doing it.
4 Could murder a bacon buttie.
3 Just churned the tv channel, and it seems to be men's beach volley ball, and ms sonny is engrossed. Best it put the weightlifting on.
2 Still waiting for my bacon buttie.
1 Mirror only shows a reflection, and that is only that. Words are spoken a wisdom, if you are wise. Those who teach, keep encouragement to the young. Those who can work, create our comforts with their hands. Those who you love, care for them. I want a beer, bar is open. Yes it is now time for the elimination round of the wobbleadeathon.:beer::beer:I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
Cheers! :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0 -
Hello everyone. There hasn't been a lot of pleasures to post lately so thought I'd save them up over a few days. Here goes:
1. Went to a nice wedding on Saturday.
2. Went to a nice BBQ on Sunday.
3. Didn't spend too much at the supermarket.
4. Didn't have to cook all weekend.
5. Haven't been eating so have lost a bit of weight.
I'm not really in great spirits atm. A lot of things have happened at work that are making me not want to be there, and I just can't shake the blues. Sorry to be so negative. I must try more harder to be cheerful.

Good evening all !
Tealady - glad to hear that you had a lovely time at Ascot.
KB - I am sorry to hear that things are not better for you at work
PK - sold your bed or something ? 3am tutt tutt
Mculloch - its nice to have you back !
5 for today
1. Work was OK
2. Wore a new dress and gladiator sandals to work BIG mistake as I was freezing cold all day, well come on it is the end of July!
3.I have been copied in to all of my line managers emails by the head of my unit and tasked to do things that my direct peers are not. Which is odd as I am not a manager (nor do I get the increase in wage to reflect this ). I don't know if I should be pleased or paranoidA topic for formal supervision I feel !
4. Spotted my colleague actually taking a having a wee snooze or three in our team meeting this afternoon. I did laugh :rotfl:
5.My Mum's neighbour is trying to pull a fast one over who is responsible for replacing a fence panel. My OH is a lawyer so this should be interesting.... He will obtain the deeds from the Land Registry when he gets in. ..My Mum is in her mid 70's and her neighbours badgered and abused their other elderly neighbour who rent from the council to contact the Council to get their (free!!) fence panels replaced by the Council .Which technically means they think they will pay nothing - Council one side and my Mum the other. This makes me very angry ....Not a pleasure but I feel the ignorant may become enlightened very shortly...
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

I dont think so, thankfully it appears to have been an upset stomach but without the D&Sickness. Have felt much better today thanks
(Doc mentioned ulcer as I have been on long term nsaid's but I do take omeprazole to counter act them. ) Anyway, thankfully has settled down now.
For today:
1. had a lie in until 9.30
2. managed to do some tidying and crossed off a few things on my holiday "to do" list
3. went out to lunch with friend and had a good laugh and catch up
4. Had a free ice-cream sundae with a voucher and it was nom nom. Think it might scupper my weight loss plan this week but hey ho !
5. first load of holiday clothing washed, sunny morning but wind got chilly this afternoon so I will be taking a selection of clothing for all weathers - after all it is Yorkshire we're going to (grim up north an all that)

Chicken:- Good luck re your mums fence, we fought our corner with our neighbours who have agreed it is theirs but who refuse to do anything about it for 4 years now, I could wax lyrical but resisting temptation to.
1. Thankful to have a job, while exploring other possibilities, we like the money coming in obviously but not keen on it’s very long hours each week.
2. Took in a healthy salad for lunch
3. Read a book in the sun and took a full hour.
4. DH was really happy to see me when he picked me up from the train.
5. Pre cooked today’s tea last night which was a nice HM Chicken and potato thing.0 -
Evening all
1. had a lay in before going to get the muttley
2. nsp
3. postie brought me some L2S vouchers for completing a survey
4. Dispatches, 'Britain on the Sick'. A programme about the incompetence of the sub-contract interview company which is stopping peoples benefits. Very interesting and hopefully the outcome will be the company's staff being retrained.
5. Ainsley's Moroccan soup with cous cous, bought 241boxes as a trial last week and it's delicious(Soup in July, I ask you!)
Last but not least the Olympics, so exciting of course. Looked longingly at all those empty seats and wonder why all my applications were turned down but will keep trying for the one football match I'm interested in....everything X'd
