    Evening all.

    VJsmum - that's great news about OH's passport. :j
CCP it must be all those delicious meals you keep eating :D

If that's true, I'm going to get chewed even more when I visit my DPs next week - my DF's an excellent cook, so I'll taste even nicer to the mozzies. :(

    1) Started my week off with a bacon sarnie, using really good bacon from the butcher.

    2) Got a load of gardening done: I've cleaned out, planted up and netted off the raised bed, to stop the cat(s) getting into and ruining all my hard work; planted up some more tomato plants; planted out the rest of my bedding plants, and given everything a good drink of water (which means it will now rain smiley-rolleyes007.gif).

    3) The above was achieved despite the 'help' of the friendly little calico cat who keeps hanging around. She's a real cutie who reminds me of one of those little wooden animal toys - the ones which are jointed and collapse when you push the button (or, in this case, tickle her under the chin! :rotfl:).

    4) Watched a bit of the Olympic road race - I don't usually watch cycling but they were going through my home county so I thought I'd have a look - nice Surrey scenery, but a shame about the result. :(

    5) Yummy butcher's sausages for dinner - I'd intended to BBQ them but it's got really windy now so I might cook them in the oven instead - the combination of ash, windy weather and contact lenses can be a rather painful one!

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Missed a couple of days because very busy so here are my pleasures for the last few days:

1 - Evening out with my friend, lots of freebie drinks and food at fashion store opening

2 - Free Martini cocktail with a text code, very nice

3 - Amazing bargain bikini bought at the fashion store sale with extra 30% off as it was their autumn line launch and they were clearing the summer stuff (will be perfect for my Sardinian trip in September)

4 - Magnificent Felafel dinner with friend for very little, with free salad refills, healthy and bargainous

5 - The weather is still holding up

6 - Free month with Fitness First

7 - Managing to do my workouts almost every day, aiming for every day in the coming week

8 - Best friend back from visiting family abroad. Missed her loads and we spent a lovely afternoon in an outdoor cafe catching up

9 - Missing DH as he is away for a week for his martial arts training school but just talked with him and he got there safely. Part of the pleasure is also that he will have some time away from the family and a break from family responsibilities, I am very happy for him

10 - Another part of the pleasure with DH being away is that even if I am missing him loads it will be a rest for me too, no early breakfasts and packed lunched to prepare, no pressure on having dinner ready (the kids can sort themselves).

11 - He will be back in time for my birthday!

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Good evening all !

Skint - get well now please cos you are off for 5 weeks !

KB - I hope things get a better for you x

Kittikins- I soooo get having to find comfortable shoes that are pretty . I have to wear a lift in one of my shoes because of the "foot drop" and it is really hard unless I wear boots all year round !

VJsmum :jGood news re the passport x

    5 for today

    1. Lie in after letting hens out at 5am

    2. Whacked my little toe (on my good foot)on the chest of drawers and I know its broken - the pleasure none except I know that I have busted it so many times it will be ok soon

    3. Despite the above swollen toe did a Kittikins and bought 2 pairs of gladiator type sandals . One el cheapo and one sort of el cheapo as Jones had a sale on . Both comfortable and look ok .Mum said that they made me look like a slave girl.... nice .

    4. Washed the sheets and pillow cases OH will come home to a nice clean bed . He will probably think that I have had an affair or something because the sheets have been changed . More like washing off the fox poo fake tan stain!

    5. OH if back in a timely manner tonight - (I can't eat late) said he would buy a chinese takeaway :)

Have a good evening all !

Back from my break - have been busy the last couple of days so this the first chance to catch up, haven't read all postings yet as watching Olympics too... love it, love it, love it.
    1. Had a lovely break, loved Southport and Salford Quays (first visit to both) good to see Bowness again after a break of a few years.
    2. Got some good bargains whilst away including Marguerite Patten's Post-War Kitchen - fascinating.
    3. Olympics opening ceremony. What a spectacle, fantastic. Not only that, but I spotted one of my former childminded children in the parade of athletes. (Women's water polo captain). Boy, I was proud of her.
    4. Being home again after being away. I took my netbook with me and was thankful that I did as not too much work came in but enough to give me something to do rather than just sit, drink and chat in the evenings. I do like to sit and chat, don't get me wrong, but I like my job and it wasn't a trial to give up an hour or two each night.
    5. Freebies in post, including a new heated brush (Amazon Vine). It's not a hot-air brush like the one I have already, so I'm not too sure how we'll get on, but gift horses, as they say...
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

1/ work is finished for the day
2/ I only have 1 more working day this week
3/it's closer to my '5 day weekend' lol
4/ did I mention I only have one more shift at work to 'suffer?'
5/ made a tasty dinner from the freezer for a change instead of being lazy and getting a chippy on the way home from work

(can you sense I don't really love my work?)
