Morning All
5 for Now
5 Twas quiz nite last eve, and Ms Sonny and I did not too bad. I feel for Ms Sonny, as we had curry before, or Tom Soup, rice, bread and a sparrow leg (apols to early riser of same ilk), and she has to wear her white top. A free bottle of wobbleade to those who can furnish what happened next.
4 Off to Olympics today, Coventry. So na Na Na Na Na Na Na na na Na Na Na Na Na.

belated birthday wishes sparrer hope you had a lovely day
1.Saw 5 kookaburras sitting on a tree branch yesterday, stopped for a couple of minutes to watch them . I do like them.
2.Had to go back to another hospital with DD1 last night to get checked over, good news , eye is healing fine and no damage done. 3 hour wait rather than 6.5 hours! Staff were friendly.....a wee touch of home....2 Peoples Friend magazines (only a year old too!) in the waiting room.....read several 'complete stories' in the time we were there! DD1 and I had such a laugh at the adverts!
3.Saw possums where we were parked. This particular park we call possum park as we walked back at New Year (year before last ) and there were hundreds of them! They are nocturnal. We have them in our garden and they poop all over my car and the wheely bins but of course we never see them. DD1 is scared of them so we held hands all the way from hospital to car
4.parrots and cockatoos....I hope I never get fed up seeing them or take them for granted.
5.a letter from my lovely letter writing friend, funnily enough I was thinking of her today and came home to a letter and photos enclosed. Made me smile, I have replied by letter already! (virtuous me)
I have such a poorly, sore OH and I wish I could make him all better.
Have a lovely Thursday....heard on the radio this morning ' Can you smell that....?', 'what?'......'the weekend ...it is nearly here'.....only one more day for me at work!0 -
Here goes my first post on MSE in years- I'm a bit of a lurker but thought it was about time I started to join in and where else to start but my favourite thread.
Here are my 5 pleasures
1. Yummy Olive Loaf for breakfast from my new (to me) breadmaker that I got at the carboot sale last weekend
2. It's a lovely sunny day today- a nice change from all the rain
3. Running home from work today- hope to rack up 9miles- I'm running my first half marathon in September
4. Lovely email from the local running club saying they would love me to join and no I'm not too slow for them.
5. Lots and Lots of hugs and kisses from my wee 2yo old this morning- he's turning into a right mummy's boy. :-)
I hope to make the habit of posting my pleasures each day as it's a good way to stay postive.
I hope you all have a lovely day x"I'd much rather have a caravan in the hills than a mansion in the slums." Neil Finn

Evening all.
OT - I've just had to g00gle fidget pie- it sounds delicious.
stuffandnonsense - welcome to the thread!
mhagster - I love hearing about your wildlife - it seems so exotic, even though we used to get wild parakeets in the garden of my DP's old house. (In the wilds of Surrey.)
TILAMS - I think I can guess what happened next.Hope Mrs Sonny manages to get the marks out.
sjprmc01 - welcome to the thread! Your pleasures certainly count - anything nice can count!
1) A free pot of yoghurt in my veg box. I must admit, when they said they'd give me a free replacement I thought they meant they'd replace all the bad pots, not just one, but never mind - a freebie's a freebie! :money:
2) Heard that my DSis' place of employment has been taken over by another company who have decided to keep the place running, so DSis and her colleagues won't lose their jobs after all. :j
3) Took mog to the dreaded v-e-t, who was able to confirm that, as far as she can tell, mog's weight loss is purely due to old age and not to anything more sinister.
4) Watching a 'baby' blackbird - the same size as its parents - begging for food like a chick. :rotfl:
5) Made a batch of spicy chicken stew for dinner, which is bulked out with loads of veg so one (admittedly large) chicken thigh will do me for two meals. :money:
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hello stuffandnonsense nice to 'meet you' x
1. Sunshine
2. Managed to get DD to her tennis course even though she and I had a very bad night's sleep so the temptation to sleep was huge....

6. More plans made for our little holiday to London coming up soon
7. Lovely dinner of leftovers and loads of veggies, I'm determined to keep on losing weight!0 -
Post mortem showed congenital heart defect so good news he wont have suffered at all, but devastating for us all and his sisters will need to go for tests as it's genetic. May be his dad who died on a building site 17 years ago had the same thing, who knows. So that's the sad bit. Now the +ves

Right, more pleasures for today:
1. Woke up feeling a little bit cold this morning
2. The sky last night was amazing - so starry and clear. (that might have been Tuesday - can't really remember...)
3. Tried on a dress I've not worn for ages and it fits better than ever.
4. The house is a bit cleaner now.
5. Just watched The Hangover 2 - which took a while to get going but was funny towards the end. A nice change, at least.
Whew. Our office is HOT. Open windows would, you'd think, provide a nice breeze from down by the river, but it just feels humid and muggy. Still, it is beautiful and we're really lucky. I heard a green woodpecker today, and the sky has been flecked with swallows.
Have a lovely evening, everyone.

4. dug the veggie bit in the garden ready for the winter caulis, sprouts and cabbages which will go out this weekend if it rains.

1. Finished the last of the marathon washing session. Mianly the spare bedroom but also did some washing preparing for winter scarves etc. All dreid out on the line.
2. Glad that this will be the last day of this intense humid heat and that cooler conditions are coming in tomorrow (apologies to those in the North who have had very little but to be honest you were not missing much as the heat has been horrible at times).
3. Got some detailed reports finished for work, it's amazing what happens when that big yellow ball burns so hot that it keeps me inside
4. Got some steak out of the freezer this monring and we had that with a really nice salad tonight on the patio with watermelon for afterwards. I enjoyed the watermelon more than the main meal
5. Watched a repeat of Escape to the Country but really enjoyed it. Love that show.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
