Hello from my iPad so no doubt a few mistakes!
Saturday evening here, waiting on pizza delivery . But got it a good price !
OH is s nauseous I am trying not to cook and we can eat in front room nd he can't smell us!
Had a snooze this afternoon.
Went shopping with girls this morning, they both got new jeans at a reasonable ( ie, one I was prepared to pay)price. I got a new top for work.
Work was mad yesterday but will only get madder as semester starts again on Monday. I worked a bit later and when I came out the grass at car park was full of cockatoos....hundreds of them, obviously having their tea before bed.
Lovely chat with one of my friends from home this morning.
Watched casualty on YouTube.
That's me , a fairly relaxed Saturday. I have a poorly husband but at least his treatment is finally over. Hopefully he can begin to heal and recover slowly but surely. Again ,many thanks for all your kind wishes ,it really makes such a difference.
Enjoy your weekend x0 -

5 Survived 30 years of ignoring bull on the TV. Amazing sometimes listening to people who worry them sens on total drivel. How do you do it. I often laugh at that Most Haunted programme, does she really need to have glowing green eyes. If that made a stew, it would walk. Has Stan left Corrie yet?
4 Bummed the quiz last nite, battery in phone went flat. Appears I has had another of my nonesense phone calls to Ms Sonny. Shjes does na answer, I thinks I jas stopped the call, and it rabbles on for 45 minutes on her answer phone. Mes secrets are not safe!
3 It is a fee day as it is Sat Di and in three weeks I am off to Wembley Stadium. Thank goodness the GB team will not be there. How they made the captian, and for not sining the anthem, I will be watching Spain Brazil. Still, I would has been at a world final. And no yous not having mes ticket either. Must book the train to get me there. Hope they have good offers on.
2 Just remembered reading through these lists, of a conversation with tother fosterer some time back. Imagine a room with three chairs and we invite a School Teacher, a Social Worker and an Educationalist to sort out a pre given agenda. When we come back three weeks late, the chairs will be pointed outwards and the pile of paper would remain untouched! Offence intended at the three workers!

Frith - the goose sounds really nice , but then so does your DB
VJsmum - get well now ! Enjoy your holiday with your new hairDoes America know that you are coming ??
sparrer - thanks x
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
DundeeDoll so sorry about the death of that poor girl.
Sparrer Yes you need to cook all pulses including lentils. I know that the proper recipe for felafel uses raw soaked chick peas but I always cook them as I read that raw pulses can give you a bad tummy.
Oldtractor, have you heard of Positive News? https://www.positivenews.org.uk it is a good antidote to the bad news flood in the mainstream media.
Here are my five for the day:
1 - Watched the Olympic torch pass very near my house this morning at 8
2 - My friend from the allotment came back home with me and enjoyed a cup of tea with h/m scones and jam
3 - I made myself go to the morning outdoor workout and did the whole hour!
4 - Fried eggs on rye toast after workout, no guilt about the toast because I worked out quite hard!
5 - DS is cooking dinner tonight.
How could I forget? 6 - The sun is out!
Have a good day all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Evening all.
DD - I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's friend - what a shock at that age.
TILAMS - Spain v Brazil should be a cracking match - what a good one to get tickets for!
mhags - I'm glad your OH's treatment is over - I hope he starts feeling better immediately.
VJsmum - have a fanatastic time, and I hope you feel better soon too.
My pleasures from a very pleasurable day:
1) Woke up to see the sun shining through the curtains, and it's been proper warm sun, too - it feels almost like summer.
2) Cuddles with a neighbour's dear little calico cat - she's such a sweetie that I can't bring myself to dislike her, even though I strongly suspect she's the one responsible for using the raised border as a litter tray.
3) Took advantage of the sunshine and went for a walk by the harbour.
4) Watched a swift swooping down to drink from a lake - they do it without landing, which is very impressive - and a kestrel hovering to look for some lunch.
5) A brief chat with a gentleman of the road, as my DM calls them, and he was a real gentleman, too, with lovely manners.
6) Stopped for a drink at a pub overlooking the harbour (mostly because I needed the loo): I don't usually drink soft drinks but, after my long walk, the glass of coke tasted like the nicest thing ever.
7) Overheard a discussion at another table - the kitchen had accidentally sent out a meal with the meat undercooked and, rather than throwing it away, they offered it to another customer as lunch for her dog. The dog didn't look displeased with the arrangement!
8) Popped into the garden centre to get some netting and pea sticks to try and stop the cat in #2 from getting into the raised border, and got lots of nice RTC plants while I was there. :money:
9) Took advantage of a glitch flagged up on another section of MSE to get some cheap yoghurt. :money:
10) Had a chat on the phone to my DSis and told her how to go about getting compensation for the birthday present she sent to me and which hasn't turned up. :money:
11) Also arranged that I'm going up to see her in a couple of weeks' time.
12) Sausage and baked bean casserole for dinner - my DF's recipe which I loved as a kid and still adore.
13) Followed by plum jam and yoghurt. (It was actually meant to be stewed plums but I started reading the forum and forgot I'd left them cooking.)
14) Typing this with a glass of apple wobbleade and the patio door wide open to make the most of the warm weather.
Yikes, what a long post! Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all!
CCP - its amazing how many pleasures there are on days off !
6 for today
1. A bit of a lie in after OH woke me up at 3am to say good bye before he went off to Scotland for the week , then up at 5 for hens , but it was so nice to crawl back in to bed and wake up "naturally" at about 8ish
2.Tidy house
3. Did 3 lots of washing all dried and put away
4. Watched the racing at Ascot , kept thinking ooh.. we were there yesterday .
5. Picked some courgettes and gave some to my neighbour with 1/2 dozen eggs. My cauliflowers are looking good , as are my purple beans and blackberries that the hens greedily eat !
6.Veg stir fry using some of our own produce - can't beat it
Have a good evening all !
eta - saw on another forum that a new series of Superscrimpers starts on Weds. 25th July at 8pm on Ch 4:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all
Caterina thank you, I thought so but wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming
1. had a lie-in til 9am
2. Good workout and a chat with the PT who came up with some sensible, and not too wearing, ideas for the next review
3. Stopped at Mr S for petrol on the way home, got a till spit for £3 off a £30 spend which I needed to do anyway. Discovered they do plastic sacks of milk, what a good idea! They were on 342 so a real bargain and really easy to throw in the freezer. Got another ts when I paid, which I'll give to DD on Monday.
4. Mowed the lawn, trimmed the edges, tied back the tomatoes & beans, etc, etc, etc...a good 2 hours pottering then a couple more sitting and reading outside with no coat or cardigan. Bliss
5. Made a veggie lasagne well padded out with various veg. It cut into 4 good portions and I had to freeze 3 quickly because it was so morish and was in danger of only being 2
Going on the Mway trek to DM in the morning, it will make a nice change to drive in fine weather. Sweet dreams0 -
Chicken sounds like you had a great time at Ascot
DD so sorry to hear about your daughters friend
Frith ...the education system in this country seems hell bent on pounding a square peg into a round hole... one size does not fit all. Am so glad you managed to get your point across to Childrens services re the awful CAF coordinator
Anyway, my 5 for today
1 Went for a brisk walk and managed an hour. Me legs and glutes are aching now tho
2. Walk in the nice sun but with a lovely breeze.
3. Enjoyed watching a "little egret" on the foreshore, funny looking bird all white with a black beak paddling along with big orange feet http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/l/littleegret/index.aspx
and watched the sail boats racing
4. Three loads of washing done. There's only 2 of us so I dont know how we end up with so much as I dont always wash after the first wear if you know what I mean
5. Lovely chat to friend on phone.
