    Tired.

Here are my 5 or so for today.

    1) Bigger son off to school happily.

    2) Gave smaller son his first driving lesson.

    3) Nice bit of lunch.

    4) Bigger son's leavers service.

    5) My brother babysat smaller son so I could go to the leaver's service.

    6) Fish and chips for tea, parked by the steam railway.

    7) Bigger son now at leaver's party.

    Wish it was Friday!

3.Got a reference to complete for a friend (not employment related)- a real official one that I can't say too much about , but again will do my best .Chuffed to be asked tbh :)

  • Hi all,

Had a hard day with the kids today :( being a SAHM can be really tough some times.

Anyway trying to look at the positives:

    1. It is sunny outside - can we really be getting a summer!?!? Very exciting that we may have at least a week where we are not stuck in the house!
    2. Mum took 2yo DS to hers for the afternoon and left me with the (sleeping!) baby. Helped somewhat.
    3. Managed to push through the 'CBA'd' feeling and tidy the kitchen and living room a bit so it didn't look like such a disaster zone.
    4. Enjoying an ice cold half a cider to help with the 'chilling out'.
    5. Managed to get all the flannelette sheets washed and line dried today.

Hope everyone else is ok - haven't had time to read the thread

    Stacey x
2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.

Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
    Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(

I am in my bed of pain :( Tonsilitis - and we leave for america in 2 days!!

I will try for some pleasures

    1. Last night's teenagers did want feeding after all - DD said she couldn't believe that we managed to feed so many out of our stores
    2. Staggered into work and did my invigilation - once again was with one dyslexic student so not hard work and i got my marking finished
3 Bought my friend's birthday present - a cath kidston mug with nice choccies in and will add posh hot chocolate tomorrow
    4. went to drs, pleasure was that she was quick. it is uncertain whether it is viral or bacterial but I have anti biotics anyway. Lets hope it is bacterial and they start to work soon
    5. yummy crispy coated lemon sole for tea.

I am off for sleepy time soon.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

VJsmumm, ah hope it passes soon, disolveable asprin?

Chicken told me so, I know,:j :beer:work will settle it’s just at the moment everything has to be set up from new and processes and stuff written from scratch.

    1. Made use of my phone camera and took photo’s of the bizarre sculptures that have popped up for the Olympics on the way to work. Colourful one eyed blobs:rotfl:

    2. Home on time, working from home tomorrow means 2 hour lay in, but loads of work to do, I would do it tonight but shattered;);):D
    3. 2 loads of washing done, 2 to go.
    4. Re loaded all the bird feeders hoping they will their food tomorrow and give some entertainment.
    5. A healthy tea, I’ve a bit of an odd thing going on, I am eating less and losing weight but the top part of my stomach keeps bloating out very badly then stopping. Its odd.
    6. Loving getting lost in reading a fantastic book.
    7. I’ve ordered DH a little surprise, - no it’s not smutty:rotfl:, its a soldering iron he’s wanted for a couple of years but we haven’t been in a position to get it.:)

Pfft I didn't get a look in apparently they some how ended up tasting like bread pudding and DH ate the lot.:rotfl:

Bit miffed about the pressie was looking forward to it arriving tomorrow, only to check and see it's out of stock, if it had been listed out of stock I wouldn't have bought it off them - huurmpth.

Where are you off to on your day off, where ever it is have a fab time of course??

 Caterina welcome back, how lovely to see you :). Pleased to hear you're all well and DH is enjoying his job. Congratulations on the weight loss!

VJsmum everything crossed the anti-b's kick in quickly so you can enjoy your trip

MrMhags belated Happy Birthday, hope you feel better soon so you can have a little celebration with Mrs M and the family

Many years ago I worked with an Olive Green. My DS's first initials are D.R, we've had occasional phone calls asking for Doctor xxxxxxx :D

    1. Called at the next village and bought eggs from the lady whose hens have the run of her front and back gardens. She was just loading a sheep into a trailer, it was so friendly and loved the scratch behind the ears I gave it :)

    2. There was an eight-legged thing in the car . Luckily my neighbour was just going to walk his dogs and he got rid of it for me. The pleasure was it was removed before I started to drive, so I didn't crash - anyone with a phobia will know what I mean!

    3. Postie brought me a phial of nice spicy perfume, just right to take with me to Birmingham next weekend. You're all going to exciting places like Wimbers, Ascot, Poland and America, and I get to go to Brum :rotfl:

    4. DS has booked an outing for us next month, can't say too much as I'm not sure of the details, suffice to say it's going to be quite an exhilarating experience for an old 'un like me! Another one to cross of the bucket list ;)

    5. It's been so wet I've had a poor crop of loganberries and raspberries but have just filled the first ice-cream tub this year. Hopefully the forecast fine weather will fill a couple more before the season's over

    Sweet dreams :)
