(((Mr & Mrs Mhags))) thoughts and prayers with you both and the family.
IWAB/VJsmum lol at Humpty and Mr Coleman, when I was little, well, littler than I am now, the school dentist had the unfortunate name of Mr Puller
TILAMS we have to read the posts very carefully to find out who's having a birthday, some are sneaky and don't mention it til it's almost over, or even the next day!
1. No rain, no wind, no cold, just a clear sunny day, all day. I think we just had Summer!
2. Very apologetic phone call from the decorator with a fair explanation for not appearing yesterday, instead he'll be here on Friday. Means I've had to change hair and eye appts but I'd rather do that so he can get on with things.
3. Went shopping in a large town with DD, I tried on several dresses in various shops before I found the right one, which was half price. Found some lovely shoes in Cl@rks, also half price. Got a necklace and bracelet in a cheapy shop, unbelievably rtc, so all in all a very successful day. DD has a bag which matches the shoes well, so just have a little jacket or pashmina to get and the outfit is complete
4. We planned to have lunch out ansd saw a burger place with a 241 offer so took advantage of that. Not good for the figure but good for the purse
5. Went into a £ shop (there's nothing like that here) and spent a fiver on some essentials. It's years since I went to a big town and thoroughly enjoyed it but think I might leave it for another few years, it's all so tempting!

I had a music teacher in junior school called miss bass then at senior school miss sharp, and there's a surgeon called mr kneebone :rotfl:
Hugs to all specially mhags and family. Yesterday we had to get up at 6  so
1) woke at 5 so had lovely lie-in despite early start
2) got to cable car just after 7 (it starts at7) and no queue. The ride up was stunning
3) scrummy breakfast of scrambled egg, bacon and bread in cafe at top of cablecar ride
4) walked to the summit. There are posts all along the ridge with P one side and S the other for the polish /slovak border
5) no queue coming down but by then the queue going up eas very long (maybe 2hours) so worth our early start. It also meant we had no rush. You are only guranteed descent 1:40 hours after your ascent so as the day progresses you are less likely to find a non booked space.
Then we went to a museum, had a late lunch /early tea and i was in the land of nod by 8:-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Re the names, you'll know of my interest in horses.
Well it was only this year that I discovered that the translation of my mother's maiden name (she was Estonian) is Stirrup.
The explanation is that the feudal landowners in Estonia were responsible for naming the peasants who worked for them, as surnames weren't used, only 'son/daughter of's', like in Iceland and Wales. Said landlords were a bit lacking in imagination. A very common surname in Estonia is the word for oak, also ash and beech.
My Estonian cousin wrote a very amusing account of this involving a hungover lord of the manor being faced with dozens of his minions requiring names and looking around him for inspiration.. ah trees! 'You- Oak! You - Pine!' It's on one of my other computers, must dig it out for a giggle.
Mum's family had horses, they were horse - traders, so .. 'You - Stirrup!'Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

3 Courses for tea, Tom Soup, Smackeral Salad and Friut Salad, oh, with hard boiled eggs
2 Eggs are ready, see just lick that. Talk of liking, cor, my French teacher, she was just about everyone ... woman. Wanderfill! Still makes you seat all these tears later. Just wondered why we all got three of the best in her class as well. AKA a Trouser Session! Well worth it and you tell the kids today, what pleasures they are surely missing out on trinkets of life like that. Apols to the teachers on her, but ...
^^^ Does me broken heart no good that!
1 Scorn has broken my heart, and left me in search of sympathy. I have looked , but comforters I have not seen. In health, I am a drunken beast, overcome by wobbleade and missed words. Today is now past, tomorrow I must show. I shall be merry, and cheerfull, while those around me are so ...
Just when yous had the eggs on for 15 minutes, do they still run?I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Evening all.
I had the dullest day at work imaginable - the computer system was broken when I got in just after half past eight, and was still broken when the head of department decided enough was enough and sent everyone home just after 3pm. Just about everything is computerised, so there was a lot of sitting around and playing I Spy!
1) On the plus side, I have now filed every piece of loose paper, and cleaned and polished my desk to within an inch of its life, as did everyone else - the polish and cleaning cloths were being passed from person to person all morning!
2) Finally got round to trying on a jumper I bought over the internet and have decided it doesn't fit right and is going back for a refund.
3) Sadly, though, I've already spent most of the refund on a new watch - it was very reduced, though!
4) Lovely cuddles from the mog, who was obviously surprised to see me home so early.
5) HM pizza for dinner tonight.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0
