    Morning all.

Caterina - welcome back! :hello: Could you share your recipe for HM vegeburgers, please? I've tried several but haven't found one I'm 100% happy with yet.

    VJsmum - get well now!

    Mine for yesterday:

    1) The documents for my car insurance are one of the things to vanish in the post, so the nice insurance company agreed to send a replacement copy to my work address even though it's usually their policy to only send stuff to the registered address. :T

    2) Spent another working day wrestling with a recalcitrant computer and, by the last hour or so, I'd had enough so spent some time messing around on the internet as that was about the only thing that was working.

    3) The dahlia I bought on Sunday has two big yellow flowers on it, and looks stunning. :)

    4) On my way to the pub quiz I stopped to give directions to an older couple who were visiting Portsmouth for the first time, and was able to assure them that the pub they had been advised to visit was a good choice.

    5) Came second in the pub quiz, largely due to getting 10 out of 10 on a round based on an article I happened to read during my lazy last hour at work. :rotfl:

Have a good day, everyone - I must go and do some work now. :o
Back after a very long break!

    Hi CCP

The vege burgers are trial and error experiments, usually consist of some beans or lentils or chick peas, mashed and mixed with finely chopped onion or garlic, a pinch of spice, I use Garam masala or paprika, or cayenne pepper, then some chopped fresh herbs, then salt to taste. Squish everything with your hands and if too wet add some porridge oats or flour or gram flour, until the consistency allows you to form into smallish patties. Then coat in bread crumbs and leave to refrigerate for a few hours. Then shallow fry, turning several times to make sure they are thoroughly cooked inside and crispy outside. Serve with any chutney or relish you have, or chop fresh tomatoes, onions, coriander finely, pinch of cayenne and small dash of vinegar, to mark homemade salsa.

Sometimes you can add egg and/or grated cheese to the mix to vary the flavour, then you need to adjust the quantity of dry stuff to keep the mix together. Of course also any leftover cooked vegetables would go well in the mix, or mashed potato. The ( vege burger) world is your oyster really, I am sure you will find a variation to suit your taste and make some to your liking!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Got back about 2 this morning and for the first tme ever my bag got lost grrrr but this is a site for good things so....
    1) didnt pay 3zl to go see olympic size ski jump close to, then noticed children having lesson on training ski jumps so watched in awe
    2) weather fab. Treated myself to a gofry (waffle) with fruit and cream sitting in the garden of our fave tea shop in zakopane
    3) caught train back to krakov with our polish hosts. We were in a first class carriage which has little compartments of 6 with a corridor (remember those?) jj let his cat out who ran up the chair and behind it  still there 3 1/2 hours later when we got off at krakov. Jj and friend staying onto warsaw and didnt seem worried about getting cat out
    4) very funny flight crew on plane someone wanted the times and british steward acting out times to bemused polish stewardess at back of plane. She obvs hasnt been brought up with give us a clue and was no better at cream crackers :rotfl:
    5) got home safely albeit one case lighter and the car unvaleted. Knowing our plane wasnt due till 23:50 i'd booked the car in till 3 in the morning to allow for delays 20th. They then had us down as 23:50 today cos unbeknownst to us when they asked our flight number that's what they looked up for our time. So the good news? Despite being delayed by lost luggage they were still waiting for someone from malaga so hadnt locked up and gone home. Phew!
    Keep smiling :-) xxx

  • Oooh, poor VJ, tonsils and a jolly. Jenny sends her buzz for you :heartpuls.

Friths, see you had a good head of steam for your chippies.

Right, I seem to be late this [STRIKE]morn[/STRIKE] aftnun.

5 Walked canal agains this mornings, saw two swans swimmingly along, as well as some roebuck I think. Every time I go along there, jenny thinks of my heart and thinks of all the water she could shift. Ms Sonny thinks, Pump That!

4 Rite, diet has really started now, so I am on Target 95. I am 17 off the wrong side at the moment, when scaled on Tuesday. No scaling now till next Tuesday, so no wobbleades for a while. Crisps etc are gone, not that we had many any how.

3 FF day, so watching the chitter on twitters (bloom, England all out). Just looked elsewhere and do people really pay for nonesence food. here You always wash your vegetables, do you. In our Supermarket, they are sell 2 oz bags of baby? tatties for 99p, as well as carrot sticks! My grandad would have thrown them in the Pig Swill. Still, not be long before Sprout stalks are in the shops again. On my apprenticeship, the gals had to root them out, so as not to block the blancher. They went to cattle feed. Now they charge an extortion, for what? This is supposed to be about saving pennies, not being ripped off! My first boss told me about double processed food, that is food that had been prepared once, then stored, then processed again. pre packed sald, is processed in the field, then sent for processing again, sometimes waiting for the other ingredients to be added, then sits in a notrogen rich environment prioir to sale.

2 Quiz nite tonight, so a glass of wobbleade may be ...

1 Whatever food you have, give a fith to those in need, the rest shall be yours, and for your future. Especially give to the young, they will be feted in love. As your life endures, they shall remain true to you and sure.
I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

    Cheers! :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

Evening, popped on to post some pleasures :)

    1. It's Friday.
    2. I don't have to get up tomorrow until I'm good and ready.
    3. A nice cup of tea.
    4. I'm just about on track to come under budget for the Grocery Challenge.
    5. It's not currently raining.
