Sorry I've been MIA again! However, hopefully I'm back for a while as it's the summer hols (hurrah, hurrah!).
My five pleasures for today:
1) I used a "till spit" coupon for today's "big shop", saving £7 (and yes, it was all stuff that we needed!).
2) Have put some washing (gasp) outside to dry.... almost the first time this year!
3) Delicious salad for lunch.
4) Sorting out more books for the charity shop.
5) Yellow sticker turkey for stir fry tonight!
Have a good day everyone.

Ooooooh skint you'd such a tease
5 for today
5 In serious need of a decent come up prance for the cat. There are times when I thinks I should just make him chase round the yard with the hosepipe. Seriously tempted to do so today. The lazy oaf, is sat so chuckeningly under the BBQ, tat you just canna miss. Oh, to have had the hosepipe set up when I needed it. Minds me of the laser spirit level and him chasing the red dot on the floor. Funny as ...
4 Fed up with the sports day. I have had enough of it now. They are not serious that this blooming torch thing is being paraded in some soap opera. Please tell me it's not true. Makes a mockery of the whole event, with the opening ceremony now being held back so that corporate America has a chance to view us all as some zoo animals. I thought it was for us, but after seeing the entourage and non Olympians beamed from the side of a truck in Stroud on 23 May, I am fed up with it. Why do we have to suffer for this corporate greed. And the shops are now able to open all Sunday during the sports day, to do what, sell beer? Do we not get fleeced enough.
3 Gawd, I is on a rite one now.
2 Internet going at snails pace loafing up videos. Are the kids off school ... Easy.
1 It is no use going in guns blazing, wanting a confrontation. Because that is what you get. If you want a conflict, then just ask for it. Better to set your agenda before, set deadlines. Ask them to advise any additional items to discuss, by a set date. Give your meeting a purpose, and stick to it. Set out the ground rules, and tell them. Need an ice breaker, just make blow fishes, easily done and gets things going.
Oh, remember you have three questions, they are- Is that an action, Mr Chairman?
- Who is that action on?
- When is the action to be completed by?

4. I gave my friends daughter a ten pound note folded up and placed in one of those plastic capsules that the gloves come in for hair dye - I wrapped this up and there is no way that she will guess what it is even if she shakes it . Its for her holiday in Turkey next week .She will like thisI would !

6. Read a fab 'horror' book whilst in the park
7. Made deeeeelish dinner in a trice when we got back home from the park

9. Just about to watch a film with my favourite people
10. NSD, woohoo!!!0 -
Evening all.
1) A lazy start to my Monday morning as I had a doctor's appointment first thing. (Well, it was meant to be first thing - I have no idea how they managed to be running so late when the place had only just opened!)
2) Watching an eight-legged creature breakfasting on a mosquito. Having just been badly bitten for the second time in a week I'm in favour of anything that reduces the number of mozzies in the world.
3) Technically an NSD - I bought some more bite relief cream as I left mine at home this morning , but I paid for it with loyalty card points so it doesn't count. :money:
4) Made tentative arrangements to visit my DPs next week, which will be very pleasant even if the reason for going isn't very happy. (It's to say goodbye to their cat, who they've had since I was a teenager (which tells you how elderly she is) - she's now very ill and will have to be PTS quite soon so she doesn't suffer.
)
5) Halloumi and falafel salad for dinner. I adore halloumi.
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
It's hot! Am sat on my bed with the fan on the windowsill pointing at me.
Away all weekend and not long got home. Random pleasures for the weekend are: sun, OH, OH's hammock and Ikea. :-)
Here are 5 for today so far:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Up early (not quite as early as OH) and in the city centre by 9am! Got my friend's daughter's birthday present.
3) Off across the centre of Birmingham (accidentally) to visit another friend.
4) Back home!
5) Nice food in for tea for me and OH.
6) Since getting back (4 ish) have put washing on, put other washing away, set breadmaker going, cleaned bathroom, stairs and lounge tiles, dusted, cleaned window sills, sorted cat tray out, fed cats about 4 times and spoken to my brother on the phone! Oh, and had a bath after all that lot. And changed my bed.
7) Looking forward to University Challenge later.
8) Got some kefir grains (spelling?) from the friend I had lunch with today and have set them running.0 -
CCP - I am sorry to hear about the family cat . So sad x
There is never an "easy" time for these things.
