CCP ((hugs)) sorry to hear about your puddycat

DundeeDoll hope your son got home ok

Tealady congrats to your DD hope she will be v happy at her new college

    Pleasures for today

    1. Slept well

    2. Lovely sun

    3. non working day :j and I finish on Friday for 5 weeks :D

    4. shopping done this morning it was 21 degrees at 10.30am phew scorchio, so was glad to get that chore over and done with

    5. Didnt get the job in the vets part-time receptionist. Did not even get a reply... nothing new there I suppose in this day and age so I rang them and vacancy has been filled. They had over 200 applicants !
Anyway, (bear with me!) the pleasure is that I have now been able to book onto the Yoga course starting thu mornings in September as I now have no commitments, and get it for reduced rate of £27.50 instead of £60 :j

    6. Managed a brisk walk for an hour and walked all along the shoreline and over the common. Lots of families, groups of kids and people walking their dogs meant I could go further afield today whereas I normally keep to the edges of the wilds where I can be seen from the road

    7. Lovely prawn salad for lunch. Am not a fan of prawns normally, prawn cocktail is about my limit usually at xmas and cant abide warm prawns or prawn curry

    8. My large fushia is flowering in the back garden. It was getting rather large and woody so I chopped it back to ground level and hoped it would grow back. Am not v knowledgeable about gardening

    9. Long chat to DM on phone, and have arranged a date to go stay in August. She then told me that since grandma passed away I have a small inheritance, enough to pay for petrol up there and back and repair roof and pay for broken window pane I replaced in front door last week. Bless grannie, I still miss her and this doesnt soften the loss but cant deny it has come at the right time

    10. Chat to DSis arranging date to go and stay with her in Scarbro the week after visiting Dm&f.

    11. Reduced ironing pile by half tonight. Just wish the ironing fairy would pop round in the night....... ;)

A weird day to find pleasures in, I was rushed into A&E and seen incredibly quickly, ecg, bloods, X-rays painkillers later they really don’t know wassup, home again phew. Had to pay £4 to release the car, but I feel okish again already.

    So my pleasures.
1.A cuppa when I got back in.
2.Watching the animals play in a garden tray full of water.
    3.Chicken and Veg for dinner
    4.Jammie doughnuts too.
    5. Not a pleasure as such just feeling for DH having to worry around hospital for me.

Greetings from a hotel in Lancashire.
    1. On holiday with Best Buddy and have had a lovely day.
    2. Went to see Rummy yesterday and can't put into words what a special day it was. My son took me.
I've never known him be interested in horses before but twice during the afternoon I realised he was MIA and both times he was with Rummy (avoiding being bitten) and also the lovely, gentle-natured Abstract Art (Archie) who was stabled alongside him.
    3. Meeting wonderful people as well as Rummy.
    4. Son has new G.F. Going well and he is happier than I have ever seen him. Snag: she is 110 miles away - about 15 miles from where I am now.
    5. Over on one of the other forums I discovered that one of the sweetest posters lives in the same little town as me. Very small world.
    6. Rain held off today and there was some sun, even!
    7. The new iron is brilliant. Have to discuss best home for old one.

DD... there are no words, what a loss. His poor parents. PK - take extra care. Chicken - ASCOT!!!!! Wunderbar! Wunderpferd! Lots of hugs to you all.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • Sorry, but canna resist.

PK poor you it must have been frightening, glad you are well though.

TILAMS I am putting the cat out tonight! hehe

Here are my pleasures for today:

1 - Wonderful weather, makes such a difference to the spirit!

2 - The workmen came to replace a post that had rotten prematurely in the garden, as they dug the hole we found a nice crop of self-seeded potatoes (from the compost). I knew the plants were there but did not realise I had a nice little crop already!

3 - Baked scones for my afternoon tea party

4 - The afternoon tea party went really well, lovely to catch up with my internet friends in person!

5 - Even though I was full of scones, jam and cream I managed to get out in the evening to go to my outdoor workout. Struggled but finished the hour.

6 - After the workout, DH and I went to water the allotment. It was lovely and peaceful there, such a great evening, we saw the thin crescent moon. It was beautiful.

7 - Lots of food left over from afternoon party, DH packed lunch for tomorrow is practically sorted with the leftovers.

    Good night all
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

(((CCP))) I'm so sorry to hear about your DP's cat, even though they're doing the right thing I understand how hard it is
VJsmum enjoy your holiday, it sounds like you're having a wonderful time already! Glad you were on the ball re the cab driver, I hope he wasn't trying to detour to get a bigger fare from a tourist. Can fool an MSE'er :)
TILAMS do you really put your cat out at night? I couldn't sleep until both of mine are safely in their nests!
PK pleased to hear you're home, safe and...well? I do hope so. Good old NHS :)

    1. Laundry dried before I went out this morning, two more loads done since

    2. Postie brought me yet another phial of eau de toilette, I'm sure I only asked for one sample, but not complaining as they're ideal for tucking into birthday cards

    3. DSiL was going to throw away some mini fencing but gave it to me for the edge of what will be my new fruit patch. A clean up and coat of paint and it will be ideal. He also gave me two big garden pots which I can always fine a use for

    4. A friend visited for tea and brought me a lovely set of 'spa' toiletries which I'll take with me this weekend. It may only be Brum but we're staying at the Hilton and now I have a posh toiletry set. Every cloud, etc...

    5. Washed down the patio set so above friend and I could have our tea outside. She's going to knit my teapot a cosy as it doesn't have one, she said it will be a quirky one as that would suit me!

and a 6th in advance - have found out what surprise DS has booked for us at the end of Aug - we're going on a tour of Wembley. I thought it odd as he did that with his junior football team, then he explained we're also going to zip-wire across it . Wheeeeee!!!!

    Sweet dreams :)

Sparrer i shall call you zippy :D
Tealady congrats to DD on kingston
Sonny as an educationalist with a potentially painful meeting at 9:15 shall take your timely advice
    So five for yesterday
    1) lovely write-up for Sam Lewis RIP in Dundee Courier
    2) collected my mislaid case from Servisair kiosk while waiting for arrival of...
    3) DS whose flight was only 35 mns late lol. First off the plane were another world challenge group who had clearly been to peru - all clad in colourful light cotton trousers, llama jumpers and funny hats lol
    4) DS regaled us with funny stories from Uganda including the monitoring of bodily functions  OH laughing so much at the poo buddies she had to ask him to stop till she'd stopped driving! We then went to mr t to buy the list of foods he'd missed (not at all mse and took us over july budget)
    5) Then he and DD1 went off to local 24 hour bakery to get 'helicopter burgers' which is a burger with beef patty, bacon, lorne sausage, egg, cheese and chips  soz sonny if jenny's shuddered at the thought of that! And oh made me and her lovely spicy chicken and i made DD2 her fave supper
Have a good day everyone. Back to work for me.
