Sorry to hear you've been poorly, TILAMS. :-(

Bad bit first - after not concentrating in his reintegration meeting, smaller son has been excluded for another 8 days. This neatly takes his exclusion up to the end of term so he won't be in school again until September. So overall he will have had 13 weeks off. :-( :-(

    Pleasures for today.

    1) Waking up with OH. :-)

    2) Bigger son off to school happily.

    3) Mum, dad and brother came round this morning. Mum played Risk with smaller son, dad and brother played with the kittens!

    4) Kittens. :-)

    5) Texts and emails from OH. :-)

    6) School reports for sons. Bigger son (year 6) got level 5's in his SATs in all subjects.

    7) Got the few remaining bits of bigger son's uniform for high school and he gave smaller son and I a fashion show and looked really smart.

    8) Had a takeaway for tea to celebrate the SATs results.

    9) Went to bingo at the village hall. Its only a little local one so when smaller son won one game, we were given a box of fruit! Plenty of choice in there, though.

    10) My aunty has just phoned from the US. I don't think she has ever phoned before but she has been talking to my mum (her sister) about my son's exclusion and she is a retired teacher so phoned me up because she couldn't believe what a shambles it has been.

Apologies for going MIA. My son has been ill this week with a weird virus, he passed on a mutated version to me and work, eat, sleep was as much as I could cope with. I wasn't really ill, so no sympathy please, but I wasn't quite myself either.
Work was busy, hallelujah, new learners and learners passing tests.

    So
    1. Son now recovered and back at work. His symptoms included severe headaches and neither of us get those, so we were both worried.

    2. Every day this week a learner has passed a test. I had such a lovely email from one thanking me for helping her. She was such a dedicated student it was a pleasure to do so.

    3. Photos of Angrove Fatrascal on the Net. He is utterly adorable. Not long now till I meet his Uncle Rummy. Fatrascal is at the sister stud, so I won't meet him that day.

    4. Finally got some good YS bargains from Mr T's. Just had one for supper, a rump steak that I had enormous fun bashing with the tenderiser. My son's steak was beaten out to the size of the dinner plate, then flash-griddled to keep it succulent. I do recommend bashing hell out of YS steaks as both good exercise and good therapy.

    5. Lots of freebies for trialling in the post, no need to buy mouthwash, laundry liquid or stain remover for some time.

    6. Reading all your pleasures.

    7. Spirit of Punchbowl Farm is finally on its way, two weeks late.

PS.. Sheesh, Frith, wondering what OFSTED will say (They are contracted by same firm who I am an associate for, incidentally) and TILAMS, double sheesh. Chicken, thanks for your concern. Welcome new posters.

Not good enough TILAMS, what have you and Mrs T been up to that the little ticker was so upset? Behave yourselves! Pleased you've had good care though, get well soon and hugs to you both :D. Thank goodness for the NHS, a saviour for many of us

DD it all sounds so good, have a super holiday with lots of relaxation and good food. Sounds as though you've already started :D

    1. Last weigh in of the term, target set for the next one. Very pleased with progress even if it has been tough going at times. In true OS style I've saved a lot of money by not buying junk food, snacks etc

    2. No workout today but Friday is my main housework day so lots done, even managed to get my heart rate up a bit :D

    3. A couple of dry hours so planted some more geraniums, hopefully they won't get waterlogged and rot like some of the plants have done.

    4. My naughty girl mog was on the kitchen table but when I walked in she jumped down - right onto the dog's back! For a few seconds it was like a rodeo with the bucking bronco in my kitchen :rotfl:

    5. At last, after many phone calls, I have a date for the plasterer. The job was supposed to have been finished last week, then 21st, now it will be done on 25th. The office is putting it in writing for me, I just hope they don't change it yet again as I'm so looking forward to the decorating being done before 10th Aug when DS comes to visit. We will see...

    Sweet dreams :)

Welcome back newlywed and positive vibes to TILAMS

It's been a busy old few days. I'm still trying to run down the freezer and have embarked on a full scale cleaning operation. I must be mad. For some reason I have this urge to clean everything. So, few pleasures to pick out, but here goes:

    1. Driving Mr K to the supermarket in the rain and not feeling too self conscious, as I normally do.
    2. The cleaning means I'm not sat around snacking. Although there was the tube of those certain crisps you're not supposed to be able to stop when you open them...
    3. Took in a load of books to the local mental health charity shop. They were very grateful and I felt good because I may need them someday.
    4. I cleared out a cupboard and have a free shelf :D
    5. Next week looks likes it's going to be a very low spend shopping week.

Have a good day, everyone. I'm off to do some more cleaning in a bit, just finishing my cuppa.

    K xx

    Ok mine so far:

    1. Taking the 3 large bags to charity and clearing the hallway
    2. Having friends over for morning coffee - made me happy giving them all tea/coffee and crumpets :)
    3. Finally getting round to comparing contents insurance and finding out we could save £200 a year!!!
    4. Being glad I am confident enough and mentally able to be able to argue with the current contents insurer (though he basically said it's past your renewal date so its tough! and hubby should have known that when he took out the policy 7 years ago that the windows put in by the landlord 2 years ago don't comply with the policy so we're not covered for break ins!!!) Grrr but I was glad I had the opportunity to argue that we don't have any say in what windows the landlord fits to the property and don't have authority to change them. It made me feel for all those who really can't deal with these things and can't understand policy small print.
    5. Hubby and stepson laughing and playing footie (with a soft ball) in our hallway now the charity bags have gone to a good home:)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Evening all.

Happy birthday IWAB! Enjoy your cake. smiley-greet027.gif

sparrer - I really wish I'd seen your cat / dog rodeo! :rotfl:

    1) A lie-in this morning, although it didn't seem like one at first as it was so dark when I woke up that I thought it was still the early hours of the morning.

    2) Managed to find a gap in the rain to take some bits up to the tip (sorry, 'recycling centre' smiley-rolleyes007.gif). (On the way I was listening to a CD which includes a song called There's water here[/] - as my poor car was up to its wheel arches in a puddle at the time, it seemed rather apt! :rotfl:)

    3) Watched some of the Olympic Torch relay as it wound its way round the Isle of Wight - my DM told me where she was standing but I can't see her even after watching it back a few times. :undecided

    4) Chatting on the phone with my DM about the problems I'm having with Royal Mail, and she gave me some very good advice (as always :)). I'm going to go into the main local post office on Monday and tell them I'll call the police unless they sort it out as I think my post's being stolen - it seems rather a coincidence that I'm still receiving advertising flyers, but parcels, loyalty card vouchers and anything else with a potential value is going missing.

    5) HM curry for dinner tonight.

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Evening all, back with my 5 for today

    1. Lie in this morning. Much needed after a few early mornings when unable to sleep. Rainy day so spent the morning on laptop and reading.

    2. Managed 2 x 30 minute walks on my treadmill including 3 x 1 minute jogging, yes jogging !!! bit of a miracle for me after a year of back pain, so am going to be careful as dont want to seize up again. Readout states burned over 400 calories too :D

    3. Walk round to friends house for tea and chat

    4. Watching a few old b&w movies I recorded earlier today "Murder Ahoy" (1964) Miss Marple with Margaret Rutherford and a young Nicholas Parsons and Derek Nimmo, and The Lavendar Hill Mob (1951) .....priceless classics ;)

    5. Home made tandoori chicken for tea and smells divine
