  • Hi Sparrer
    Hi Chickenopolis & thankyou x
    Hello everyone else - :hello:

Well today with the kids was quite like the weather -sunny one minute and heavy rain the next and unfortunately quite a lot of grey cloud!

However here are my 5 -

    1. NSD on a technicality - I had put £20 aside to buy some 2nd hand clothes from my cousin who came round today with two bags full - I am going to count it as a NSD however as I didn't spend in shops/internet etc and no cash left my purse as such as it was separately put aside. The pleasure being that I have purchased 95% of the clothes I will need for DD from 3-6 months up to 2-3 years for the grand total of £60 (£10 a bin liner!!).

    2. Planning my frugal birthday gathering for tomorrow night (I'll be 26!!) I have a budget of £20 to feed 7 so I am going to do a pizza & pasta night. The pleasure was realising that 3 of the 5 guests were really happy that I had decided to stay in as they are really broke & knowing that we would still have a great time!

    3. Cousin bought cake - enough said really!

    4. Seeing the veggie garden fight back against the weather - yes the strawberries have given up but the courgette & bean plans are among a few that are growing rapidly!

    5. Cousin talking about her parenting woes with her two and making me feel better that its not just me struggling with the terrible two's! :o

    6. Organising my coupons into my travel document holder I bought especially in one new years sale - sad I know but nice to have it organised so I don't miss a bargain.

    7. Five weeks ago I tried to order some clubcard rewards from Mr T, I got through to the final page but then it showed an error message, I went back through the process but the vouchers I had entered showed as being used. I thought maybe it did process but alas no rewards arrived. I was going to contact Mr T today to see if they would take pity on me and sort something out, when happily the vouchers were showing up in the list of vouchers available to use! I now have £17 of vouchers to use for rewards!

    Night all,
    Stacey x
2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.

Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
    Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(

Love that Jenny Joseph poem - let us hope that one day we all wear purple with a red hat. Yes, even you, TILAMS :D
Actually, Jenny was a little troublesome this week.

Ooops, have I not been in? Sorry chappies and lassies and cats anmd razors.

Had to go in, on a blue light jobby again, to CCU! Good dose of morphine, Happy Happy Happy! Whewoa! Not very nice. Jenny gave a jolt, sick, dizzy all over the place. Good care though. Tested me pump out, me broken heart, soak tested and everything ok, just a murmer on the descending coronary artery. Got some tests to do in Bristol, bit more exertive than today's testing.

5 for this week (Selfish acts really)

5 Got taken to hospital 100 miles away on Tuesday, so Ms Sonny has to catch train, will get to see me at 4. Just except that someone tried to ... and delayed her train by 2 1/2 hours. I was really worried what had happned to her, being so far away. she had to cross London as well. Just how selfish was that!

4 Had angiogram yesterday, geared up for a run at about 3 in the afternoon, but starved just in case. The put me down for 3, as Ms Sonny could get there beforehand, but if an earlier slot came up. Another selfish twit, was going to put an a in there, but the profanbity filter would !!!!! it out, decides to go intyo the reception eating his breakfast! Another selfish twit.

3 Really f...... trembling when you have to go through thyat without seeing Ms Sonny before, test did not hurt, but the bloody thoughts did. Sorry to be blunt.

2 Ms Sonny came and kept me good kinds and the Minister saw me as well. Little niece thinks the toilet shakr has gotten me!

1 Phew, anyopne else had a good week? Not had time to read em all, but seems that. Once heard when I was in the RAF, the IRA NI war was over, The System will not accept it. Note that we got good news in parts from the roundabouts but the swings were just as no co-operative as they ever were.

Till the morning, sweet nights everyone.

Hugs TLAMS, sorry to read about Jenny's hiccup, bad girl.......you take good care of yourself x

    1. Call from the water board about the massive leak that occurred....they're going to read the meter a couple of times and work out an average usage, so refund me the difference between the huge amount that may have leaked and the amount I would probably have used. Thank goodness for that!

    2. Also, they will give me £100 as a one-off payment for having had the leaks fixed, yay :)

    3. OH was ultra lovely this morning :)

    4. Friend and I popped to supermarche and I got lots of bargains, including 2 punnets of strawberries for £1.25, nomnomnom. Only spent £16 and £6 of that was on some underpinning for my bust!

    5. DD had a great time at a party then at the school disco, where I helped out

    6. She brought home amazing SATS (or the school assessed rather than national version) results and a glowing report. Cue one very happy mummykins and grandparentkins and a pleased as punch DD!

    7. Treats for DD of shop-bought pizza, strawberries, lots of cuddles and a trip to the theatre tomorrow morning

    8. Our lovely neighbour mowed the front lawn for us, he is lovely but I'm slightly concerned by his flirting with me!!

    9. Received an email to say my N*xt stuff is on its way

    10. Managed to wire up my bedroom TV, I've not bothered with it since we moved in, and to be honest, am not sure I'll bother with it much now, but it might be nice to have the option! OH and I usually retire to the boudoir and watch the 10 o'clock news, but recently we've listened to R4 instead. I barely watch TV these days..but the pleasure is, I had all the wires, including the aerial one in the drawer of doom!
